Having recently developed a rat issue in my garden I flogged the airgun reviews to death. Your review covered all points which are important to me & my situation. Was so impressed I have just purchased same from Cardigan guns for £99.00 plus door to door delivery. Thank you & cant wait!! 👍💪🍻

Hi Stephen, thanks for the kind comments mate. The Explorer is a cracking rifle with a trigger that is actually much better than the more expensive Milbros. A lot of the cheaper end rifles can feel a bit fragile and light but what I love about the Explorer is the general weight and feel of the thing. It feels like it'll go on for years and years. Thanks Stephen.

That looks like a lot of rifle for Not a lot of money and with a nice trigger it really looks like a bargain for the price . Just one suggestion , where as You normally shoot a PCP till it starts to drop of (Perhaps 80 - 150 shot's)with a springer it would interesting if You could shoot saya string of 20 through the Chrony at the start ,then conduct the test and shoot another string of twenty at the end, to see if the muzzle velocities have changed . That would transform an excellent well thought out format into an outstanding conveyor of not simply subjective views (excellent as they are!) with a few objective results to back up the evidence , into the same only with even More credibility. I'm a recoil and I love springers and prefer them to any PCP I've ever tried , and in many ways Even more than any of the powder burners I've ever shot (despite their power and recoil) there is just something "Special " about springer's!. Thanks Dan keep up the good work mate .
@bigdansairguns83
@bigdansairguns83 5 лет назад
I was thinking about that a while back but I was worried about the run time maybe going on a bit too long. I'll try it with maybe one of our next reviews and see what happens as like you said it's interesting seeing how the rifles run in. So yes Richard I will steal this idea and completely claim it as my own. Springers are the best mate.. PCP's just feel dull in comparison and lack character. I'll see what I can do mate.

Hi Daz! That's a tricky one. I've shot a tuned VMX and they do shoot very well.. in regards to triggers I'd put the Explorer on top although the Express unit can be very very sweet with just some mild tweaking. For me I'd go for the Express, it's the best looking, very sweet to shoot for the money and without much work the trigger can be as good if not better than the Milbro. Can't say much for the VMX as I haven't shot an unmodified one.

Hi Volkanom. Is the noise the spring "twanging" like during the shot cycle? Another thing to check is that your stock screws are held on tight enough. If it's neither of these then it shouldn't be doing it. Some springers can have a bit of reverb after the shot cycle but it shouldn't rattle as such. Thanks Volkanom.

Hi Carsten, the Milbro's are made by Snowpeak airguns which are the same company that make the Artemis rifles. If you go on their website you'll see some very familiar looking bits of kit if you know what I mean. Milbro make their own scopes as well with the main line being the "Clearview" range. They're a really nice budget scope to be fair and they're lovely and clear.. the only niggle is that they use a Christmas tree style reticle which to me looks a bit cluttered. Cheers Carsten.

@@haydnb4960 Hi Haydn! The Explorer will make an excellent first rifle buddy you're sure to love it. When it comes to cleaning all you'll need is a can of gun oil (napier spray works fine) and an old rag, an old shirt that doesn't fit you will work perfectly if you cut it down to a useable size. All you'll need to do is spray the oil onto the rag and wipe the action/metalwork over after use to stop any rust possibly settling in. You'll definitely want to wipe it on hot days when your hands get sweaty/salty. That's about it really Haydn as springer's don't take much maintenance. Don't forget some targets too! Is that an effective silencer or just a barrel weight / cocking aid? Certainly doesn't look like a silencer. That safety is loud enough to alert every rabbit and rat within a 30 yard radius. However for £110 (High St prices 2033) it's a no-brainer.

@bigdansairguns83
@bigdansairguns83 4 года назад
Hi Dave, I'm glad you're enjoying the Explorer. To adjust the trigger take a look at the allen screws that are located behind and in front (if memory serves) of the trigger blade. Adjusting these will lighten and shorten the pull. There's also another screw inside the blade itself however that can be fiddly to get to. Thanks Dave.

@bigdansairguns83 4 года назад
Hi Uzair, it would all depend on what you'd be looking for in a target rifle. The Explorer has the better trigger out of the pair and you may have an easier time with it especially if you plan on doing some freehand shooting. The Target Master on the other hand is heavier and so shooting freehand may be more difficult until you get used to the weight. That being said the Target Master will absorb the recoil more due to the increased weight. I personally wouldn't recommend using the bipod on the Target Master however as it can cause the rifle to bounce. Thanks Uzair and I hope this helps.
