Mildew Remover Comparison for Boat Upholstery 

Try Concrobium Mold Stain Remover for stains and Concrobium Mold Control as a preventive. You can get it at Home depot. It works over a couple days, not instant. Safe for vinyl, fabrics, etc. If you spray your boat down with the Mold Control once a month you won't get any mold or mildew. Spray it down heavy at the end of the season you won't have any mold and mildew in the spring. Spray it on carpets and canvas too. I have gone through so many methods and this one actually works.

My husband and I bought a boat over the summer and because of working and weather we have had to leave it sitting for about a month and a half, covered. Lots of rain lately, which makes for moisture under cover, which makes for mildew. We went out a a decent day to check on the boat and just wipe it down and we learned we need to go out more often and tend to it to prevent the extreme buildup that we are facing. We tried different products on hand, trying to be conscious of not too strong for the surface. We just basically got the top layer off with everything we were using, so here I am.... LOL!!! I watched another video that used this product but your video just confirmed it. Thank you again!!!

So prior to my coming here I read some info regarding bleach cleaners and their deleterious effects on vinyl and more importantly the threading on seats such as this. I bought this product last night and used it and immediately got a strong smell of bleach and sure enough looking at the ingredients the first thing I noticed was it has Sodium hypochlorite which is bleach. It did work great but I already expected that with bleach as I was going to use bleach I already have but refrained not wanting to damage the seats, thinking this was specifically a cleaner for this purpose I didn't even read the ingredients. I'm not sure what is going to happen in the near future but with the combination of a miracle eraser with added Dawn I got a fairly good result but the bleach factor concerns me after the fact. Definitely do not do this in a closed area and not wearing any clothes you might not want to get ruined and that also includes some boat carpet which may be dyed color.

Ah ha. So mildew stains are what is on my golf cart seats. Tomorrow I will use x14 mildew remover. I have it on hand. Then ill try the two in your video. First, identify the stain. Mildew never crossed my mind.

I'm a huge starbrite fan. I use most of their products and DO NOT WORK FOR THEM. Their Mildew stain remover is by far the best, then I used the vinyl cleaner and conditioner that they showed above and my seats looked like new again after 14 years in the northeast. By the way. I'm fairly sure that Starbrite private labels the West Marine mildew cleaner.

I've tried many products, even the starbrite cleaner/conditioner to remove small stains on my boat seat, it's not mildew but I cannot remove them, I also tried magic eraser ( I have a light blue stain and a brown one, not sure what it is but doesn't look major). Do you think I can use this mildew product to remove those stains?

That poor boat....WTF? Makes me thankful to live in Arizona. I have never seen a single spot of mildew anywhere on my boat or anyone else's boats....it simply doesn't exist when the air temp is 115 degrees and humidity is in the single digits.

I've tried 'em all over the years and, believe me, Marine 31 is hands down, by far, no doubt about it, the best mildew remover of them all. While Marine 31 is a bit more expensive than the others, the results it produces makes it well worth the additional cost. Simply spray it on and watch the mildew melt away. Yeah, I know, they all tell you that, but this one actually does what it says it will do. I can't imagine that anyone who tries Marine 31 will ever go back to any of the other mildew remover products again. Suggestion to the other manufacturers...…..better figure out Marine 31's formula and upgrade or Marine 31 will eventually put you all out of business when it comes to your mildew remover products as more and more people discover the amazing difference in Marine 31's product.

Useless test, there are many cheaper, more effective products in any Home Depot/Lowes/Menards. Why limit the test to stuff labeled for marine use. Silly.
