One of the greatest records ever made by a criminally underrated jazz singer. Mildred Bailey was part white, part Native and the sister of Bing Crosby's first musical partner, Al Rinker. She was also chronically overweight, and her ex-husband Red Norvo once said, "Mildred destroyed herself just as Billie Holiday did, only Billie did it with a needle and syringe. Mildred did it with a knife and fork." The song is unjustly underrated, too.
