Australia Floods 2022 - Mildura Floods 2022 - Sunday 20th Nov.
Join us today (SUNDAY 20/11/22) as we check out the rising floodwaters around the Mildura area and see how much more they have risen.
Today we head back to the Buronga Caravan Park entrance as well as check out both sides of the George Chaffey bridge on the Buronga, NSW side.
Then over on the Victorian side at the Mildura Riverfront, the Mildura wharf and surrounding car parks are well underwater now.
We check out the flood level markers along the riverfront, showing both the heights of the 1956 floods as well as the 1975 floods. It will be interesting to see where this flood ends up peaking alongside those markers.
We walk down to the leash-free dog parks, which are now fully covered with floodwaters, with the Mildura Tennis Club following shortly.
We also get as close as we can to the Mildura Lock and Weir.
Taking a drive a bit out of town, we check the levee along Etiwanda and seventh street, as well as a few private levees which are protecting homes.
The Mildura Racecourse, The Palms Caravan Park, and surrounding properties are quickly becoming cut off.
We'll be posting updates and keeping an eye on the river levels around town EVERY DAY from various locations, as they seem to be rising faster and faster.
Thank you to everyone for their comments on the last few updates. :)
If there is anywhere in particular that you would like us to check out in one of our upcoming flood updates, please comment and let us know. :)
Wishing everyone the best as the whole district braces for the coming floodwaters.
Back with another update Tomorrow!!
Hope you enjoy :)
