I admit I thought he was the biggest prick in Project X. He just had that "I'm better than you" vibe. BUT...it reminded me as time went on how good of an actor he was and IS. To play those roles so convincingly well, but never seeming to strain to get there. Very natural. Unbelievable actor.
Miles is so different compared to different actors and actresses, it’s like he’s being himself and talking like the rest of us, rather than being someone he’s not.
I saw Top Gun in theaters back in the day. I don’t know how young people feel about it, but for us oldies it’s the perfect sequel - equal parts nostalgia and 21st century tech. It’s awesome.
You can say anything you want about TC's personal life, which I'm personally not interested in, but you can't deny the fact that he is the most dedicated actor out there as a whole, maybe not the best, but the most dedicated one for sure, you gotta respect the fact that he always have the audience in mind, he wants that every penny you paid to be worth it, and in my humble opinion he delivers everytime! love his movies
I don’t know. I’ve been watching him since Taps (he’s just a couple years older than I am) and I’m convinced that his acting chops haven’t been given the credit they deserve because of his personal life. I thought Born on the Fourth of July was Oscar worthy (even if the message doesn’t necessarily sit well with some segments of society), that Collateral was WAY underrated, and that he doesn’t need to be cast only as an action star to be relevant. If Jerry Maguire didn’t convince you, maybe he needs another Rom-Com to prove it? In my mind, he ranks easily in the top 3 or 4 actors of his (my) generation- with Jonny Depp, Christian Bale, Sean Penn and you pick one.
i love how miles teller refers to tom mentioning about how the pilots lost track of score a long time ago and mentioning how he is kind of like a dad in that moment. When you think about it, Maverick doesnt have a family or kids or a wife and i believe he sees the new aviators/ Dagger squad as his own kids and that they are apart of his family. Him becoming this mentiones “dad” kinda grows his character to be more protective as we see in the final scenes
I heard Miles is a genuine sweet well liked guy. I was hooked the minute I watched Rabbit hole and The remake of Footloose as Williard. We need more people like Miles!
i loved "The Offer.* I gave it a shot because I love "The Godfather." I was so impressed with everyone's performances. it's such a contrast for Miles after Top Gun. I never would have thought of him as Al Ruddy of all people, but he pulls it off.
I heard when they were at the next town over filming part of it in 2018 in Fallon, NV at the base. Fallon did a whole event at their small movie theater and even flew the planes over the theater when the movie came out.
Hahaha. I'm laughing about the submarine food talk. I will mention this to my husband who was a submariner in the Navy. I know he ate well on special nights, but as they're out to sea longer, they have less produce, so it wasn't great. But the special nights they'd have lobster and crab, tons. Love Maverick, phenomenal!!!
I remember seeing him in The Spectacular Now and getting a crush on him for how charismatic and natural he was and after seeing Maverick, uhhh.. He could get it 🤷🏾
After falling in love with his character in 21&Over movie in 2014, I knew he would go far in his acting career. I've been a fan since then. He's a great guy.
Damn I liked the authenticity at the very end that was a dope choice to leave that in , I wonder if it makes it to tv ? Hahah Miles was like oh shit you’re still rolling haha. What the fuck is 4d? Damn
Yeah, matching Goose' performance in the original is a tough act to follow. He did it really well. I have some gripes with the movie, but no shade on any of the actors. They all did a great job.
The chances that Desus & Mero could ever dunk are the same as the chances they ever do the audio art of the Bodega Boys podcast ever again - ZERO point ZERO. lolz
