Milescraft 1318 DrillMate - Multi-Angle, Portable Drill Press 

This press has worked like a charm for my projects ru-vid.comUgkxajoEbapTfqWaadnqb04h6U576yxXp-FE . I didn't even secure it to my table top, mainly due to the fact that I was using a 15 lbs drill vise. It's not flimsy at all as to what others have claimed it to be. Make sure the locking nuts and levers are secured and there won't be any issues with light pressure and patience. I was able to drill through aluminum, plastic, and steel (steel took a while) with no problems at all. Yeah it took a little longer than a regular drill press, but I don't have the space OR the money for one.The instruction manual was worthless, but luckily assembling the press was intuitive. However, the manual would be good for ordering replacement parts if needed. There is a nice breakdown of the parts that are included in the kit. Before ordering, make sure it is compatible with your unit, it is clearly stated what models the press is compatible with.This was an excellent purchase for $40!!

What thickness of material can the self centering bottom of the guide accommodate?

Just got mine, seems sturdy enough, the bit holder looks a bit flimsy, time will tell if it holds up.

I have one of these inbound the mail; we'll see how it does for installing threaded inserts.

The trouble with having only a one-sided spring is the lack of rigidity and balance during use. Customers on Amazon are complaining about wobbly motion because the bottom drill bit is not perfectly perpendicular to its base. Is their a way to purchase extra spring?

Love the product but you guys could have done a much, much better job on the assembly instructions. The "secure both guide bars to the M5 bolts" requires about 4-5 steps that you have to come up with on your own. This part of the assembly was extremely frustrating. Please talk to your mechanical engineer about this EDIT: Just assembled it. for anyone who needs help getting the M5 screws to mate to the drill guides, you can stick one AAA battery underneath each angle lock and that will make the screw actually protrude out of the angle guides, so that the screw will actually touch the guide. The screws provided (from my amazon purchase of this product) were too short and will not work assembling in the way that the video has shown. This took me 30 minutes to figure out and very upset about it. It took less time for me to assembly my damn table saw..........

seems like it would slide a lot without it been clamped down. and a lot of projects can’t have extra screws inserted to help hold the unit down and prevent slippage. like drilling wood plugs with a plug bit, that kicks out and jumps a lot if it’s not sturdy and secure.. i was about to buy one then i started thinking about that. does anyone have any experiences with this?

I feel it should have two springs for proper balance.

Really hard to use this product with forstner bits. Super tearout.

You can already see the wobble in the first two attempts to drill. This product is catastrophically dangerous.
