i've been her fan for the longest time and i can tell you that even before she made this cover, she was already smoking bong, shook her ass and took crazy pictures. there goes your 'i miss the old miley'. it's just that she is more comfortable now to show her true color. her attitude doesn't change, her personality remains and she still has amazing talent. nothing really changed.
Miley's an awesome talent n anything she does...very few can compete with a voice like hers! I'm 51yrs old & there's not much that she's sung...remakes & original that's not completely badass!! Almost think she could do Lynard Skynard & sound awesome!! She's done things for her career her way...like it or not she's the shit!!
I agree, she did smoke bongs etc even before but i also believe this is more her style. Its quite obvious she did everything else just to get some image. Again, im not judging that, she achieved her goal, everyone learned her name. But maybe its time to be the classy tasteful hippie she used to be.
Miley, I'm 65 yrs old. Wish so much you would make a CD for all of us old folks...who remember these songs. Your Back Yard Sessions, as well as this Dylan classic, are winning you a whole new audience of adoring (though older) fans.
Cierto!
@@bongoking5850 Oh yeaaah!! I listen to this at least once a week or I go nuts ahhahaha I got a 2022 AND STILL HERE endless thing going on By the way, "Let the" would have been better kfleçjeklkfeef Brazilian
Jerrongamereview do we actually know if she did drugs? And honestly, I don't think she ever showed her vagina on stage. Plus, after the 'We Can't Stop' video and all that, ppl should have expected it. Then after the first, second, and third concert went the same way, it was now the peoples choice to go, so honestly it was their own fault and her choice and doesn't matter whatever she wears, it's her body and her life and you have no right to judge. And her 'backing vocals' are amazing and temporary, she still makes her own songs and her talents are endless. She is still the same girl, with the same passion and heart and love for music, so you can shut the fuck up and get out of these videos because not only do you not belong, but you are not welcome. NOW OUT!
Nicole Blaber AMEN to you girl. I've always loved her and i always will. I went to her Bangerz tour and it isn't as bad as the frigging news tells us. Society is f*cked up and blames miley for being herself, not only miley but us all. We won't get accepted for being ourselfs and being truly happy, but we do get accepted if we act and fake a smile, ever thought of that people...? Miley is amazingly talented, her voice is so powerful, and yes she did make her mistakes, but didn't we all? The difference is, we're not famous so we don't get millions of haters trying to f*ck up our lives. I will NEVER ask for the "old" miley to get back. Cuz the "old" miley wasn't happy. Have ya"ll ever seen pictures from then and now? Ever realized how fake her smile was sometimes back then? Once a smiler always a smiler, i love her. ♡
When she has gone through the full arc of her current experience, one day she may return to this kind of groove. Give her time. She is a talent. Young people need breathing space - we build them up, then we tear them down when they don't live up to our expectations - Amnesty for young people too. I say this as a 70-year old who was a mixed up young person
yes, she still makes stuff like this but for some reason nobody cares about that. please watch her happy hippie backyard sessions she did, they're amazing.
Well, to be fair the happy hippie backyard sessions has 20 (!) times less views. It's quite hard to find her gems (that she definitely has) it's just that it is hidden behind by all the extravaganza which I personally can't appreciate as much.
She didn't make anything here this is called a cover from GREAT American folk artist Bob Dylan this came out in 1975 on a great album titled blood on the tracks...
I used to listen to this cover every single day when I rode the bus. Just looking out the window and vibing. Almost 10 years later, and I will always be in love with this song.
I love this miley, I love the old miley, I love the new miley and I'll love the next new miley. A real fan will always stand by and support her no matter what, through thick and thin, for better or for worse. Point blank.
Pretty good analysis Ryan, from a die hard fan of the Rolling Stones (yeah I'm really old!) stood by them as they evolved and changed over the years, sometimes not always to crazy whit their newer stuff but they kept on trucking and still are so I guess maybe they are not stuck doing music for the older fans, its there and we can always go back to it and even if Miley is a baby compared to them, well same thing applies.
yall miss the "old her" yet no one cared about this song when it came out. I've loved it since the day it was released, hardly anyone else even knew about this.
ikr she's a great singer. not proud of what's she's done but she's doing what she wants to do and i'm okay with it. I loved this song from its release and i am glad that her name is out there so i can hear more songs from her.
She has a way of bringing the feeling out in country music. Bob did alright...but his words through her mouth is just beautiful. I was close to tears a few times in this song.
+Aragorn Elessar Bob was never a country artist, that is probably why. Miley is country music royalty thanks to her dad (then again so was Dimebag Darrell, but I digress)
***** I'm not American no. I understand that folk is more traditional music that has disputed origins, but the harmonica solo at the start of the tune just reminds me of the 1960s era Bob Dylan folk songs. Ps I'm also a country fan too.
Bob Dylan was not a country artist, only maybe Nashville Skyline was a country album. If you don't know the difference between folk and country you really have no understanding of music. Not surprising you think Miley sang it better
+Aragorn Elessar True. Miley Cyrus was always my favourite of all Disney stars. Compared to Taylor Swift in country music, Miley sings it from the heart! She's the most beautiful, unconventional and crosses different genres (country, rock, punk, etc.).
Miley Cyrus is incredible. She was talented back then, and she still is, it's just now she's portraying herself differently, and that's what people don't like.
Right, I don't like it, when a very talented young girl prostitutes herself just for having publicity. She could be so much more, but sells her soul for just beeing in the spotlight, no matter what the price is...
To all of you dissing Miley and saying you miss "the old her", she still performs this song, as well as other acoustics in her concerts now and she has an amazing voice. She still is that Miley, everyone changes a little when they grow up but it doesn't mean she's a completely different person.
um, everyone has an opinion...this is still America right? like we can detest the new Miley if we want to. Most of us are sad b/c she used to be a positive light for the world...now she spreads darkness. You are probably too young to realize that quite yet.
I grew up listening to her. Right from the very first Hannah Montana episode. She's the first person I looked up to. She was, is and always will be my number one. A huge part of me molded itself learning from her and I am so thankful. Those of you who actually know Miley and saw her for what she was through the years know how much a beautiful person she is.
I've seen love go by my door It's never been this close before Never been so easy or so slow Shooting in the dark too long But something not right, it's wrong You're going to make me lonesome when you go Dragon clouds so high above I have only known careless love It has always hit me from below But this time around it is more correct Right on target, so direct You are going to make me lonesome when you go Purple clover, Queen Anne lace Crimson hair across your face You could make me cry if you don't know Can't remember what I was thinking of You might be spoiling me with too much love You are going to make me lonesome when you go Flowers on the hillside blooming crazy Crickets talking back and forth in rhyme Blue river running slow and lazy I could stay with you forever and never realize the time Situations have ended sad Relationships have all been bad Mine has been like Verlaine's and Rimbaud But there is no way I can compare All those scenes to this affair You are going to make me lonesome when you go You are going to make me wonder what I am doing Staying far behind without you You are going to make me wonder what I am saying Make me give myself a good talking to I will look for you in old Honolulu San Francisco, Ashtabula You are going to have to leave me now I know I'll see you in the sky above In the tall grass in the ones I love You are going to make me lonesome when you go Oh, you are going to make me lonesome when you go Oh, you are going to make me lonesome when you go Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh You are going to make me lonesome when you go
Love her no matter whoever she is - its always Miles with her amazing voice, her deep understanding aching soul and her strong personality. Noone have to act the same forever yet she's beautiful anyway :)
I love how she sings it with love and respect to Mr Dylan, that guy is a legend amongst the legend, I've never loved anyone else lyrics as much as I love Dylan's, and this is one of my favorite, thank you for the rendition of this wonderful song !
I'm now just discovering this old side of her and I really like it. She might not have "changed" for others but she changed for me. This is the different person than the miley now. I'd leave the now Miley alone but this is the one that I really favor. It just makes me happy seeing her like this.
@@paulgreenway8766 lol fuck off that guy was tone deaf he could never sing. I know you are old and your mind is plagued with nostalgia but he was a poor vocalist. Miley is a talented singer and she slayed this cover!!
Someone has to be the Best. Miley is The One! I’ve been in Nashville’s Studios since 1968. Recorded and Toured doing Concert Sound with Dolly, Barbara, Mary and so many others.
Along with Babe I’m In The Mood For You, please Miley, record an entire Dylan covers album NOW! And put some of the obscure stuff on it (Abandoned Love, Caribbean Wind, Up To Me, e.g.) .
I second that as a life long Bob fan. She would do great, I mean this cover is so good. And you picked some of my favorite songs! I can easily imagine her singing Abandoned love and up to me, but Caribbean Wind, I'm intrigued! Hey Miley, do it please, pretty please!
I've been a huge Bob Dylan fan for so many years and I learned that a good Bob Dylan cover is when you turn the song inside out (like Miley does), otherwise it's just a remake and the original author's mark is too affecting on the whole. Great song, I think I listened to this more that I ever did to the original, which I never truly adored like the most do. Btw, it's the first song I ever entirely listened from Miley, I hope she continues on this kind of music, she clearly has the "vibe"
This makes me think of beautiful memories with my mama. She went into the hospital with a shoulder infection (MRSA or gangrene) from a surgeries she was having done 3yrs ago & bc her insurance got dropped somehow when they approved her disability her Dr told her b4 they finished if she couldn't pay the rest of what it was going to cost to finish out the surgeries they still had left to do b4 hand then other than write her some antibiotics and pain meds for awhile that's all he could do. Now mind you my mom's shoulder was left open wide open, so much so that you could see inside her shoulder and touch the plastic he had put in there & if that weren't bad enough he had two or three stitches that were 3 to 3 1/2 inches or so long hanging out of the hole that looked like wires NOT stitches but her Dr swore that they would rot out. Not to forget to mention my mom had diabetes, after infection started spreading through her body she had started having bad seizures, and had dropped from 155-160lbs down close to 74lbs fully dressed an thts soak and wet. Well, 3yrs later those stitches/wires are still as long hanging outta her shoulder as she lays 6ft under the hot summer ground. She went to another hospital this last time and the nurse told me that they accidentally overdosed her on IV Dilauded (the strongest, fastest acting IV pain med you can get). I asked the nurse how does something like that happen and she claimed bc of her weight they were guess-ti-mating on her dosages.... Now tell me if I am correct or not; Doesn't any med like that supposed to be given according to the weight whether it's an adult or not. And if that weren't bad enough apparently they didn't teach the nurses to get vitals before and after if not just after too check the patients blood pressure too make sure their body is strong enough to take something narcotic like that??? The nurse was so upset that I dnt even think she was realizing how bad she was making it on herself and that hospital staff bc then she said, I gave it too her and went in several hours later to peep in on her and she was already gone and already cold. Said she called her Dr and told him what had happened he says b4 she gets much colder rush her to ICU push the breathing tube down her throat and call the family, let them know it doesn't look good after yall are able to get the body warmed up and we'll "CODE" her once they they get here and basically make ourselves feel better bc she was kinda warm but when we walked in I read the monitor and she was still only 80degree farenheit which if you didn't know is considered hypothermia. But I knew that damage was already done now to just handle it in court bc that Dr there doesn't know the nurse had called me and told me an I didn't dare mention it bc as I asked him questions about mama and giving her just pain meds in general and he wud totally talk over those questions but I guess in such a tizzy to cover his azz he put all the blame on her arm and that Dr at the hospital where the surgery had taken place had let her infection get so bad on the inside he said that if we hadn't kept it as clean as we could on the outside and around it she wuda caught gangrene or MRSA but she didn't, what did happen though he eagerly said was that bc it was left open for so long with the Dr knowing she had diabetes that the infection instead of getting it in her blood stream it acted like a bad aggressive cancer & spread into every bone & settled into her bone marrow through and no amount of antibiotics wuda cured it. The only way to get rid of it was, yep u guessed it.... A bone marrow transplant so my question was wanting to say so why have yall been doing pumping her 3 bags of the strongest antibiotics then while she has been in here over a week so why didn't some1 mention that was the only possible way for her to get well. Especially when she just got out of the hospital where the other Dr who done it practices at 2wks b4 being admitted at another hospital & they just sent her home with a bottle of antibiotics. My mom just passed away 7-18-15 she was 53 and TODAY 8-9-61 is or would've been her 54th B-DAY. I have NEVER felt this kinda pain in my life. It's like something I can't even explain. Kinda like why do ppl call certain spots on our body "hehe funny bone" bc when u hit it, it ANYTHING but funny, right but it doesn't feel like a bone breaking either. Sorry for taking up so much space under the comments but this song is so beautiful and for the first time since she passed on 7-18-15 I actually had a fond thought. For all that believe in prayer, PLEASE say am extra one for our family & for justice where it's do & may the truth comes out & praying afterwards that NOONE else will lose family or friends. Thanks and God Bless
I'm a freshman in college, so I grew up adoring Miley. I saw her in concert when I was in middle school and even now, I've never enjoyed myself more than I did that night. I'm from Kentucky, so I when I hear good country, I know it. I listen to everything, from straight edge punk to Kendrick Lamar. I can enjoy some of Miley's new stuff, but I don't feel it. When I hear stuff like this, it makes me ache for the old her. I know it sounds weird, but I was always so passionate about her and her music that it breaks my heart to see her like she is now. I don't know if she's comfortable now, or if she was then, because none of us will ever actually know -- only she will. I just don't understand.
Literally the BEST pure country song I've heard since about 1983. I was raised on this shit. I dont play it, I dont rock it. But I KNOW IT WHEN I HEAR IT. And THIS is it. Amazing!!! I wanna hate that girl for being a pop princess (because I'm a punk rock dude)... but I can't. Shes the real goddamned deal, man.
A great Bob Dylan song. So many little known Dylan songs that could become major hits overnight! "Ballad in Plain D" and "From a Buick 6" come to mind.
Talent like that doesn't ever go away. She's the same person. I do miss these kinds of emotional preformances, but she does still get emotional at concerts, I went over the summer and she cried twice. She loves her fans and she doesn't want to disappoint us but she's trying to have fun in her life now, leave her be.
