I just re-heard this song yesterday. I now attribute this song to Nathan Darmody from Allstar Weekend. I hope he finds what he's looking for and that he knows that we all miss him and will love him forever
I saw this movie on my birthday coming home from Mexico and when at first i didnt like it but i was super boared in the bus so i stared likwing it and i praticly almost cryed when her dad died
MESSAGE TO MILEY HATERS: I Love Miley Cyrus. And Stop Tallking About Her. It Wont Make You People Any Cooler Then You Already are. She Gets So Much Hate. But Keep Hating, Because I Love Miley Cyrus Because She's Stong. She Lives For No Regret, And YOUR Oppinion Doesnt Matter To Her. So, Keep On Hating But Your Never Going To Bring US Or HER Down. We
don't compare a legend to a celebrity. fact: Miley is still the original artist no matter how she sang the song. but i really suggest Cher would do better on 'When I Look at You'
@danygrl08 have u read the book? The book is soooooooo much better. like u have no idea! U have to read it. the movie was soooooooooooooooo different. read the book!!!
I'm not one who typically posts comments on videos where people are constantly going back and forth of "who sang it better." However, I feel like with this, I need to get something off my mind. First, everyone saying Cher did it better or Miley did it better, why not quit hating and enjoy both versions. Each version of this song is sung in a way that fits both Miley and Cher equally. Let's start with Miley, first of all, she was about 18 when she recorded this song and when it was released, that being said, Miley's version brings forth and evokes the heartbreak and pains of losing your first love and trying to get over it and realizing that there is so much more to look forward to and that, even though you may have lost your first love, that there is more out there to discover while you're still young. Now Cher, Cher is in her late sixties and obviously still going strong. Her version of this song shows the more mature nature of losing love. Her version evokes more experience with being in love and, let's say for example, a couple who is married for let's say 20+ years and then one day one partner decides to make the decision that he/she doesn't feel that way anymore and decides to end everything. Cher's version of this song is tragically beautiful in that pain in losing your true love who has been around for years and Miley's version is the tragic beauty of being young and in love and surviving through a broken heart. I love both versions of this song for those exact reasons.
Miley Cyrus is really amazing. She sings wonderfully. Her voice is strong, resolute, and very beautiful. For something like this there are no words which would be able to express such admiration.
In my opinon, this song is more profound than many people think it is. Sometimes we have to let other people go, so they can find what they're looking for. But some people won't find it on earth.. This song always reminds me of my little cousin. He died because of cancer and the line "I hope it's everything you dreamed your life could be and so much more" fits so well with my feelings. I miss him everyday. I'm sure he already found it :)
It's been 2years and I still miss him. I was always there for him when he needed me. If he needed someone to talk to at 3am I was there and I could always talk to him, we were there for eachother even though he live 2000 miles away and I love him even though he broke my heart and I want to hate him with everything that I have, I just want to know why he just stopped talking to me. And even though he broke my heart I still love him n I hope he finds whatever it is he's looking for
I wish I could go back to kindergarten I miss the old miley im crying after all these years shes changed she used to be a sweet Hannah now shes wrecking ball and twerking if I could I would do anything to get back the old miley ;(
Good song but Cher sings it way better. To anyone who disagrees, if Miley attempted to sing this live she would be booed out the building, when Cher sings it its just as good as the album version
I was saying Cher's version is better and adding the point that Miley couldn't sing the song live. Any person can sound great when their voice is being edited. Being able to sing live as well as it sounds on the recorded track is an artist showing they can back up their talent as a singer.
Both versions are done exceptionally well, but I have to say Cher conveyed the emotions of the lyrics better than Miley could. I'm not going to blame Miley, but I will blame the instrumental. I think it drowns out Miley's vocals and the emotions greatly. I'm truthfully surprised that both versions didn't do better, chart-wise.
