Military Charter - Atlas Air Boeing 747-400 Takeoff and Landing at Portland Airport (PDX) [N464MC]

I am unbelievably happy to get this rare opportunity to see a passenger 747-400 at PDX! It came from Biggs AFB in El Paso, Texas, and then flew to Osan AB in South Korea. Sorry about the somewhat obstructed landing view.

There was another Atlas Air 744 in passenger configuration that had landed June 9th this year and stayed a week before heading to Seattle, it was N480MC. Former United Airlines N119UA, this very plane appeared in the movie The Terminal (2004). In the United grey livery it was the plane that was delayed later in the movie, from the side you could see the number 8119 on the side of the nose.

Yeah I noticed that, unfortunate that I wasn't able to catch it, but I'm glad that another one came later and gave me another chance. That background story is very cool though!

I saw one of those come in from Seattle a couple of weeks ago. Any idea where that one came from or went to?

Not sure. Based on the flight history of this one though, it's flying for the military a lot.

Yeah, agreed. Really blocks the view of the aircraft.

@@PortlandAviation ...yeah I have to go to the top of the parking structure to see anything. As I don't drive I can't get out to that nice spot along Marine Drive to watch. The area that parallels the main entrance from NE 82nd is now a gigantic strip mall, ugh.

Beautiful shot! We had a plethora of military charters in 2022 thus far, including a few Atlas B763, Omni B772 and B762, National B752, Sierra Pacific B735s and Eastern B762. I caught about 1/3 of these

Of all those ones you mentioned the only ones I noticed were the National 752s and Sierra 735s, wish I got some of those other ones.
