Military Key West Camping: 3 Campgrounds (Sigsbee, Trumbo Point, and Truman Annex) 

Lived in Sigsbee 69-73. Our house was actually where the campground is now. Such great memories there.

I was stationed in Key West 81-85. Had a blast. My barracks was in Truman Annex. We were not allowed to leave the base and go into town without a Buddy.

So glad they have these options for military! These spots looks beautiful!

Enjoyed the video. Have stayed at both Sigsbee and Trumbo campgrounds several times and will be back there in February. Absolutely love it. Very happy with the changes recently made to reservation rules since it eliminates the 5 and 6 month homesteading that limited access to a few very lucky campers. We rarely stay anywhere more than 2 weeks, so it's perfect for us. The Truman Annex sites are interesting. They may call them luxury but there's nothing luxurious about a dry site in a grassy field. The proximity to Duval is nice, but I don't understand those dry sites costing 4 times what the equivalent Trumbo dry site costs. Will be interesting to see if that gets adjusted after the see how many takers there are.

Over many years, my wife and I stayed at Trumbo and Sigsbee many, many times. I know we spent part of our winters in KW, and had a wonderful time. One time, at Trumbo, and lady walked up and said "I see you have Virginia tags." Yes, we said. The lady then said "I'm from a little town in Virginia that you've never heard of. She said: Hopewell. My wife and I laughed as my wife raised her family in Hopewell. My wife and this lady only lived a couple of streets from each other, but never knew each other. What a small world.

How far in advance can you book it? Also, can a civilian spouse attend with her disabled vet?

Without an RV? Is there lodging on base? Navy lodge?

Have you ever asked why you have to disconnect your trailer when they have so much room there

They have drastically jacked up the rates once again. In 2016 it was $13 for a tent, now it's $28 per day. About the same price as a bus sized RV. Greedy Officers and Civilians padding their MWR funds and salaries on the backs of retirees, it's disgusting.

Cuz chows are unpredictable and are very aggressive!!!!!!!
