A new zipper for the bivey bag could probably be found at a craft store and installed by a tailor. I've done this with a backpack that someone else had thrown away because of a broken zipper. The backpack itself was made of extremely durable material and after replacing the zipper it provided many more years of service.
With the entrenching tool add a roll of TP. Other than using for the usual purpose it can be fashioned into a jailhouse donut to heat a beverage or some food.
Hi Blackie, greeting from Australia 🇦🇺, thank you for your time to make these videos,. As we have convenience, we generally carry a swag in car if going bush As our type of ranger roll, .
Blackie, I would like to invite you to the 150th N-SSA Anniversary celebration at the Fall Nationals in October 2024. The dates are the 2nd through the 6th and are held at Fort Shenandoah outside of Winchester, Virginia. I was amazed by the thoroughness you presented in the black powder revolver series...I learned a lot...Great videos. It seemed you may have been involved once in the N-SSA organization; I thought I may have picked up some hints by you. The revolver competition is interesting if you have not witnessed it before furthermore, you can see what your educational videos have done. I know a lot of skirmishers have reviewed your revolver series...Thanks for the insight and knowledge you shared. I hope you can make it.
I’ve spent plenty of nights under my Jeep, in a ranger roll. Just have to make sure you don’t sit bolt upright when you wake up, or you will have a bad time! For repairing gear I have sewn up a hole in a woodland camo poncho and an alice pack, the hit the spot with a little Flex Seal spray from lowes. The spray blends in well with the camo and seals the hole like new. Just make sure to let the patch dry completely and even hit it with a little talc powder so it doesn’t stick together. I sealed the whole top flap of my old alice pack since the old rubber was shot. Works better than new.
Great video. Along with that entrenching tool add a roll of toilet paper. Aside from the usual use it can be fashioned into a jailhouse donut burner to heat some food or a beverage. Simply roll some paper around your open hand then roll it down like you would a sock. Ignited it will last for a good while.
Blackie, I have used Coghlan’s Nylon repair tape to fix holes and tears in a tarp and a shelter quarter (Australian Army Hoochie). The hootchie was repaired with the tape back in 1993 and it hasn’t come apart yet. I have no idea if you can get this product over in the US. It’s better than duc-tape. Greetings from Paul in Australia.
Awesome, as always. When you hit a 100K subs, I propose we start a fundraiser for you to restore the Pathfinder ! Kind of like the Chadd Wright ( 3 of 7 project ) Land Cruiser resto. Your Nissan is a real keeper.
Hey Blackie! What a great video, you put so much useful advices and you showed that to be prepared for bad cases does not have to cost very much. Thank you very much for taking along and all the best from Austria 🇦🇹🤠👍🏕️🔥
