In 2020 when many people were stuck at home they watched RU-vid and reaction chanells, because Tom and Nova did everything literally 'in house' they were able to put out content when others couldn't, sometimes a new music video every Friday. Tom has a huge following because he is REAL. He interacts with his fans weekly on his discord, live streams....hell if you sign up for his text messages....he even randomly calls fans from time to time. At his shows, he doesn't do the pay to take pictures/get autographs thing. He hangs around with the fans and does pics/autographs for hours. Also, like others have said.....timing helps. Tom and Nova have ridiculous work ethics and spent their time during lockdown making music and videos. With everyone locked in their houses and the mainstream music/entertainment going downhill so rapidly....people went looking for something new. I found Tom on FB when he was promoting his song Whiteboy a few years back and been following him ever since. I have not listened to the radio, Spotify or any streaming service in years and only listen to music I buy from independent artists. Screw the music industry.
Tom got huge with smart marketing. When he got his first actual hit, he took advantage of that to forge relationships with reactors. He never copyrights them, even if they play his song all the way through without a pause. He shows up in their comments section to hype THEM up and pump up their numbers. And he send is. The HOGS. We stampede into reactors' comments sections to boost them up on the algorithm. There are a few dicks, but that's going to happen in any large group. Most are kind, even if they don't like a song. We'll make it worth their while to keep listening anyway. I cannot count the bigger reactors who got their shot doing nothing but Tom songs. They'd been trying hard before, but Tom was their breakout. And the HOG hangs around and follows a lot of them. These symbiotic relationships play to the algorithm. Tom created a marketing tide that rose all ships. Who are the biggest winners? WE ARE. The HOG wins more than anyone. We're helping to build something and having a cultural impact that the mainstream can't ignore. None of this would work without our cooperation. The sane people are pushing back against the insanity in every way we can. Left, right, and middle - we're setting aside the stupid differences to link arms on the important stuff together. After 20 years of ever-devolving madness, there's finally some hope. Toms story: Tom MacDonald is 100% independent! He’s had major record labels after him daily for at least 6 years and he turns them ALL down! After you listen to a few of his songs, especially the music industry and sad rappers, you’ll understand why. He writes all of his songs, makes his beats, and his girlfriend Nova Rockafeller shoots and edits all of his videos! That’s why dear rappers is so simplistic because they were just starting out really. He dabbled in bands and had managers in the past, but that’s why he struggled so much and that’s why he wasn’t as successful as he should’ve been until he wrote dear rappers. That’s after he had cut everybody out and started doing things his way on his time with no middleman! He spent about nine months battling crippling depression. He contemplated suicide several nights and he was a severe alcoholic! After what seemed to be an eternity, he spiritually came out of that depression and quit everything cold turkey, not only alcohol but also marijuana and certain anxiety medication. Him and Nova could barely pay rent to keep a home after that but he stayed strong and ultimately wrote Dear Rappers which was his very first video to go viral, and the rest is history! He shoots his videos wherever is convenient whether it’s in his own home, in his backyard, or in an alley! He will even go in grocery stores and randomly shoot a scene for a video lol. He personally signs albums ordered by his fans (for a short time with each new drop) and he also packages and ships the albums and all merchandise with close family and friends assistance hangovergang.com. He spent some time in college but that just wasn’t where his life was going. I grabbed The Brave 2 when it came out. I was not a fan of rap music until I discovered Tom and Adam, then I saw this video and heard the song and had to find more Dax too. Hang Over Gang forever.

Your missing that Tom does satire! He states facts that are hypocritical in nature, bacteria is life on mars, but a heartbeat isn’t life on earth. He is not saying he is or isn’t in favour of abortion. He’s just pointing out that people generally consider bacteria existing on another planet as a form of life, yet pro/choice advocates choose a point way past that, these too opinions do not match up, people know this and don’t like it! Tom didn’t do anything but point out these obvious issues, if your mad it’s cause you know it’s right, and that means your wrong. Not toms fault. Tom at least on most political or social issues doesn’t say his opinion he just revels the hypocrisy ( ok maybe he strongly hints on some issues ) truly listen and get past the shock in the statement, and most people would say yes it’s factual and they don’t like what that implies. I'm a 65 year old woman who wasn't a rap fan but I love Tom's true look at our society and if you haven't listened to Dax to be a man you should first his original version then the mega remix I so wish I could have heard that before my husband died and talked to him about it
