Sorry to hear about your pup brother. I’m prior service Army, got out in 2018 but am on my way back in. I’ve spent months praying if serving is just my calling and the Lord answered me. That chatter comes up in my head as well since I’m 28 now and when I got out was only a PFC so I’ll be entering in at that rank again. At the end of the day I know this is my calling and nothing will stop me. Thanks for the encouraging video!

Sorry to hear about your dog, he was a really nice and well trained one each time met him. I’m happy to see you managed to finish up and get through the process of enlisting. You’ll do great in basic, AIT, and beyond. - SFC M

Man you give me hope. I only need medical waivers. And I’m making sure they give me option 19 (guaranteed first duty station)

This gives me hope, I was rejected from (my country's) military for mild autism which I don't believe I have, my dream has always been to serve the US army and hopefully try out for rangers, I've been feeling really stessed about it because I'm afraid that when I get to america and maybe get the opportunity that I will be too old (only 19 now, but still). Hearing someone joining the military as a fully grown, mature adult and with multiple waivers gives me hope, thank you for sharing

Brian Marx joined when he was 40. He went to RASP at 41 and is still serving in the Ranger battalion at 50+ years old. He is a savage! If you want it bad enough and keep fighting I believe you can accomplish your dreams. I’m rooting for you!! Any questions let me know.

@daboscharmy thanks man, it means a lot really, your video did actually get me wondering, did you get a waiver request rejected in the past? Because as I have understood you only get 1 chance at a waiver, so just curious about if you did/didn't apply then or if I've just misunderstood the waiver process
@daboscharmy
@daboscharmy 8 месяцев назад
@@gunterdapenguin5896 I believe you are correct with the one chance on waivers. Before this enlistment I never got that far to have a waiver submitted. I had a recruiter lie about submitting a waiver and never reached back out to me. I’m assuming he dumped my file in the trash and ghosted me. At that age I turned to road racing motorcycles and did that for 10+ years. What Country do you live in?
@gunterdapenguin5896

@daboscharmy yeah okay, kind of a dick move from the recruiter haha. I'm from Denmark, Europe, I'm planning on getting a GED next year and then start applying for visas starting with the diversity lottery and then try finding jobs while also starting college here as I doubt I will get a visa as an unskilled laborer, but I sure will try
@daboscharmy
@daboscharmy 8 месяцев назад
Absolutely try it! You don't want to be older with "what if I never tried" in the back of your head. It was 11 years ago and perhaps the recruiter didn't take me serious at the time. I have family in Austria. @@gunterdapenguin5896

Way to stay in the fight! Be patient is my best advice. It took mine 1 year to get the approval. I know someone who is still waiting for the approval after a year. Sometimes they have to be re-submitted or more information is needed. I believe you have a good shot or else they would have said no already is my thinking. I'm praying for you!

Thank you for this video. I started the enlistment process the day I turned 35 with a class e larceny charge so now dealing with moral waiver hurdle and just a lot of kickback due to clerical errors on the state side. How long did it take for the conduct waivers to get approved for you?
@daboscharmy
@daboscharmy 3 месяца назад
It took about a year! I know another guy I was talking to during future Soldier training and it took him about 1.5 years. There was a lot of clerical errors along the process. I think it’s also to check how bad you want it. I would stay on top of it asking every once in a while what the update is, is there anything I can do.
@stephencrawford8097

I’ve been checking in every other week just so I don’t come off as annoying. After waiting 45 days now I was told it hasn’t moved and still need 4 more signatures but after that last one I’ll have to then wait for the next waiver to be sent up the ladder

Hey, quick question about joining the airforce or military in general.. so speaking hypothetically, if you had a medical condition when you were younger and provided all the necessary paperwork to your recruiter. Then afterwards, you get authorized to go to meps.. does that mean your medical waiver was approved? Thank you,
@daboscharmy
@daboscharmy Месяц назад
That’s how it worked for me with medical. The recruiter doesn’t want to waist time sending you to MEPS if you don’t have a shot of getting in. I had to do a few small tests for my previous injuries with the Doc at MEPS like jumping on 1 leg.
