In this video I show you setting the parlor up and opening up the holding area. Milking all the cows and cleaning the parlor up so we can do it all over again! Thanks for watching!
Lots of people. are unaware on dairy farms such as yours and the one i work on of the daily chores. Its a lot more than just milkin the cows. Its everything else that follows, cropping, feeding young stock, taking care of THAT sick cow or calf and O YA, that UNEXPECTED WHAT THE H, that some times GREETS US when we hit the barn, You get up and your set to milk, thn do this or that and you find when the lights come on a cow down or you start milking and something breaks!!! Your videos cover it all, day to day!!! KEEP UM COMIN!! side note as i have said before, NO MANURE SPREADER EVER BREAKS EMPTY nor does A MILKER EVER GO DOWN between the times your NOT using it!!! MILK ON!!! Kevin
you all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Blaine Niko i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I really love your milking videos. I like how you introduce the cows and talk about their different characteristics. It reminds me of my Uncle Dale's dairy farm and are some of my happiest childhood memories. You do a great job and I appreciate your positivity.
Your farm raising and military training are showing through in your training and support of your young help ! A deserved atta boy is priceless in getting the respect and loyalty that you need from your best helpers !!! Get many people stop by at milking time just to BS or to see what's new in the neighborhood ?? Thanks for the video!!
You might have an older parlor but you really get the job done and it's nice too see how well you keep a close eye on all your cows! You know them well!
I miss milking.. been a few years. I hoping to milk this winter when my works slow down. I always tell people that farming grows on you. I always enjoy washing the parlor down at the end of milking. Thank ful for a good day milking. God bless you!
Great video kip!! Glad to see someone putting video on the web of milking cows an how it's really done an the care farmers take of their cattle!!! Dairy farmer of Wisconsin here!!
Nice to see local family dairy farms still hanging on! Some day I might have to tell grand kids about the smaller family owned dairy farms that was every half mile in the state not looking forward to that!!
Let me just say great video... We were diary farmers in the UK for 60+years,,then in 2000 switched to beef,, best thing we ever did,,, We never realised how much time we actually spent bloody milking,, crazy,, its so labor intensive,,, 5/6 hours a day,,, Really really great video. 👌👌👌
New to your channel! Am a retired dairy farmer from Virginia! In lawncare now! Really enjoy your videos brings back a lot good memories! You guys have 1st class farm👍
I take my hat off to you Kip for milking the 150+ cows in your parlour. 3hrs twice a day is a long time to be milking cows. Do you never think in putting a bigger parlour in? We have put in 8X8 for speed and comfort of our cows. But it works for you and you boys are happy thats all that matters. Great video Kip
good video from start to finish! most people do not realize the work that goes on in the parlor after the milking is done, you don't just milk the cows and turn out the lights and go to the house LOL plus all the feeding and cleaning up outside early mornings and evenings. A dairy farming operation has to be on of the most demanding and exhausting part o the Farming Industry
I have to take my hat off. Dairy farmers never really gets a break. 😊 Morning and afternoon every single day. Atleast Kip you have turns on the farm. Enjoy your icecream.🍦
Brought back good memories, mom and I milked every evening starting at age 9. We always knew when we were done, same cow was always last in. Thx for great video!!!
I'm new to your channel, I have watched one video and seeing how you show care to your cows made me subscribe. Thank you for sharing you dairy farming life on youtube, it is educational and hopefully you continue to share your videos and advices to your viewers.

Nice - looks like a well-oiled machine. We're beef cow/calf, currently starting our calving season. Used to be lots of family dairies around here, but only a handful left. Keep it up - my two girls drink a gallon of milk every two days.
Thank you for all your dairy promotion and excellent dairy management! Great group of cows! Gotta love it! From a fellow dairy farmer in south east Wisconsin to you Kip! Thank you
Kip , I want to thank you for making these videos , I know you have a lot on your plate already . I watch your videos with my grandson . It’s so nice for him to see where our food comes from and the hard work it takes for farmers to get it there . We really enjoy your videos .
Love the videos. Grew up on a dairy farm we milked 90 head of holstein. Sold the farm awhile back. Looking into starting my own dairy. Just have a flat parlor now wanna build a double 4 parrel parlor with a pit. Just a pipe dream right now. Waiting to see what happens to deans with the bankruptcy.
Hey Kip, Great video! I grew up on a small family dairy in the 70s and 80s. I recognized the NuPulse milkers, and it looked to be that some of the pipeline might have been from a Surge system or maybe just the transfer line from the receiver to the bulk tank, but I'm questioning if I'm hearing a Bou-Matic vacuum pump, Bou-Matic FR-4A 7.5 HP? I grew up with DeLaval but had some neighbors that had Surge and Bou-Matic, so some vacuum pumps are very familiar. Thanks! Scott - MN
You do an awesome job of videos! Even us dairy farmers who do it everyday like you guys never get tired of seeing a well put together milking video Keep them coming and god bless!
Thank you for this video, very interesting to see farming in american way, just a little bit other wise than here in Germany ;-). Best wishes from Germany, Gerrit. :-)
I'm thinking of either starting a dairy farm (when I'm older) , or starting a contracting business but it will be extremely difficult to buy equipment , sheds, cattle , land , feed etc, so I'll probably just ending up working on a farm , anyways your farm is awesome and I love these type of milking routine vids👍 keep it up
Hey Kip, greetings from the dry Southwest. Great work = great videos, thanks. Just a suggestion....but that silo in the open montage would look better with a maze & blue top instead of the green & white. Strong work. Go Blue.
Lawrence Hofer here from Dinsmore Hutterite Colony in Saskatchewan Canada Sir you got a different looking milking parlor compared to what I was milking with but were building a new dairy barn now with robot milkers
Great vid Kip. You folks must have a pretty good water supply as your vid shows a dairy farm uses a lot of water per day. What kind of water supply do you have on the farm? Is the red cows Ayrshire? Thanks for taking us along and showing us a shift of milking. Cheers
Great video keep up the hard work! First time to the channel but won’t be the last, how do you get the water back out of the lines after rinsing them out?
Excellent video Kip, I had my milk with hot oatmeal 4 breakfast. I know how hard farmers/ranchers work 2 make a livin', most people would FAIL miserable if they tried. Will have some cheese 4 afternoon snack. Since I am an ole newspaper (on bicycle) delivery guy, how do U accumulate that large quantity of ole news print? The cow named "Pig Pen", what is the problem, I know U have free stalls @ the dry cow/heifer lot? 👍👏😊
Can you divide the cows so the ones milked and the ones waiting to be milked have access to feed as 6 hrs + a day is a lot of time in the holding yard .
🇫🇷just discovered your channel last week great videos .. one question why keeping a dairy bull in the heard .. you don’t ai ? Only for empty cows ? Milking parlour.. next steep to be a lely robot for more efficiency or not at all adapted ? Keep safe and I enjoy your videos
My cousin had a three stall parlor like yours back in the 70s in Kentucky. I loved going there and seeing the cows get milked. Your channel has become one of my favorites. Check out "Big Tractor Power" he's got a lot of good silage vids. Looking forward to your next video.
Great video, how do you see the future for your dairy farm? Will you have to milk more cows and upgrade your parlour? Are you able to make a profit at the current milk prices?
I see us staying the same, we live modestly and invest almost all the money back in to farm, that’s why we’ll make it. Starting to profit now, the milk price went up some 👍👍
"Kip... "Awesomne Daiy -Cash Crop Operation " Ps.. Do you know ? USDA "Says it takes " 500 Dairy Cows !n too Support One family one a Dairy farm " and here on your channel " you are supporting 4 Family"s "thats Awesome in fact "Phenmonial" thanks ! marv"
sir I'm from Canada we have quota to control amount of milk being produced we get decent price hearing that the USA don't have the best prices for milk is that so? please reply
That’s a very good system you guys have, we did not do that and now we have a milk surplus and the smaller farms like mine are getting snuffed out. We’re hanging in there 👍
