Rhinebeck! Rhinebeck! It seems like all we’ve been talking about for the past few weeks/months and it’s finally here. We take you along for the ride on our first year vending (and Peg’s first year attending) the New York Sheep and Wool Festival. How quickly did our Cider Doughnuts colorway sell out? Who did we run into? How does one transport a metric Rhinebeck of yarn? Find all this out and more in this week’s episode.

What an amazing event!!! And seeing the Lindal Skirt on Marra completely made my day! The Vermont Vice in that is gorgeous! Originally designed for US2 needles, Marra decided work on US6 with JFM fiber and not only is the result stunning, it will definitely cut the knitting time down using the larger needles. I love to see individuals really take on a project and make it their own. There are so many ways to do things and this is a great example! And Tom wearing three of my designs! So much fun! I seriously wanted to hug each and every person there. Thank you to everyone who came out and to everyone who took the time to participate in this KAL! xoxox

I agree with everyone…your positivity always jumps out of the screen - and the giggles this time are pure gold! Congratulations for your ongoing success. You absolutely have earned it and deserve all of the good fortune that comes your way (that quote that the harder you work, the luckier you get surely applies). I hope to see you the Sunday of NE Fiber and definitely can’t wait for the November open house with my family! Keep having fun and loving wool and each other ❤

Thank you for sharing videos of NYSW and providing your review on the event. I imagine both of you are tired, still, from the hectic weekend. I am glad you were able to vend at NYSW! Oh, I was like a giddy school girl meeting you two!! Lol. You two are the best! I was hoping to get some of the cider donut colorway, but that was gone!😮 which is awesome for you!!!! I did get my hands on " Leaves in the Brook" and will be making the lindal Torkle. Pictures will come later. You put a lot of hard work into the show and your set up was beautiful. I would love to visit you mill one day.

Nice to meet you guys…will be following❤ I was born and raised in dutchess county, married a dairy farmer , then moved to central ny, still dairying. As a child my parents bought a 200 acre Maine island in 1940. We had about 50- 75 wild sheep on the island. My life with sheep. Always have had sheep since. We can no longer travel, so your reports on wool make me feel happy. I was the first wool judge at Rhinebeck, had to reject 90% of the fleeces they were so awful. I was the first person to bring angora bunnies to the festival. I had to convince the sheep Assn. That other fiber animals would help the festival…we now know how that worked out. My friend Patricia Barry was in charge of the festival and had to convince others that bringing busses up from nyc would help sales….guessed that worked! The festival was in the two livestock barns on livestock hill. The breed sheep sale was a big deal. I am so impressed by you guys….I’ve been spinning for 52 years…..doesn’t mean I’m any better at doing lt…ha,ha. Best to you both…💥💥🐑🐑

Wow! Thank you for sharing some Rhinebeck history. And how on earth did your parents decide to buy 200 acres on a Maine Island. It sounds so cool, but we're guessing it was also a challenging lifestyle.

Can’t believe you got a Millcast up so quickly after your incredibly busy, fun and exhausting weekend! Love seeing and hearing about how your first time vending at Rhinebeck went. Sounds like you sold lots of yarn and had a fun time on The Hill with all of the Torkle makers. Your Millcast helped with my FOMO since I couldn’t attend but was able to see it through your eyes. Forgot to ask what sweater Peggy was wearing when you first got to Rhinebeck? It looks mitered and has 3 colors (brown, cream and a rosy color). Reminds me of my Ginny’s Cardigan by Medrith Glover I knit years ago.

Glad you found us. We hope to have sport weight yarns in 2024. Not sure we'll have lighter yarn than that. We're waiting for our new spinner to arrive to experiment with lighter yarns!

Thank you. It was my first time at Rhinebeck. It was a bit overwhelming. Your booth was the first on my designated visitor list. I was disappointed that cider donuts was sold out.. but so happy for your success. Peggy thanks for the hug… you both are an inspiration with your energy and positivity. Keep up the good work.
