.......so sorry, sweet Audrey........your pain has been your gain.........you're a woman of substance and desire to bring something better to the hurting people in your life.....i was grateful to note, when entering my fifties, i could speak of my dad without tears......i've looked to Christ to fill in the gaps in my life.......He's my treasure..... and He's not going to leave me..... more importantly, i'm not going to leave Him..... \o/

I could not hold back my tears on this vid. My dad was 18 when I was born, Mom was 20. From what I hear, he was a suave young man from Chicago that loved drugs, women, and lying. When I was around a year old, he pulled a knife on my Mom because she asked for the $10 he borrowed from my Grandma for my diapers. Because of that kind of behavior, he was never around. I remember this random "Al B. Sure" looking dude at a parade in downtown Chatt with my Mom. I was 3. I was walking with her enjoying the band, and this guy walks up, gets on one knee, and smiles. She vehemently waves her hands "no". I just wanted him to leave because he was making my Mom feel bad. He walked away, never looking me in the eye. It wasn't until a few years ago that my Mom told me that was my Dad. That's the only memory I have of him. He was in an abusive household; his Mom was an enabler of poor behavior, his sisters were molested by his Father/my Grandad. I have a stepdad who is the greatest Daddy ever, but I still think about what may have happened to my biological father and why he didn't want me or fight to be better for me. It still burns today. Thanks for telling your story, and I'm praying for your continued healing and wholeness in our Heavenly Daddy.

I, too could write a book. Our situations are different but...kind of the same. Or the outcomes, I should say were different..but I was still affected by my childhood.

I had to ask God to help me forgive my father and I'm just #So #So glad He did bless me with forgiveness...before my father passed last year. I used to blame him for many of my own issues. I get it Audrey
