It was toward the end of 2005 when the Diet Coke & Mentos eruptions went viral, and everyone was trying their own experiments. So naturally your friends would try to stop you if you were caught trying to consume them both at the same time! 😂 But it was actually an urban myth that eating them together could cause any harm, since your stomach dissolves the candy coating. Anyone ever try to put both in your mouth at the same time though?? I'm afraid to ask what happened...lol!

For me it was a dude that was choking on a Mentos and someone passed him some coke to get it down. He started gasping and he threw up the foam. It was traumatizing and the teacher kept bringing it up as a lesson to why we can't eat junk food💀
I actually did this as a full adult thinking I’ll be fine. I wasn’t fine. I had to live on the toilet for a couple hours. It gave me explosive diarrhea.
This actually can't do you any harm because your stomach dissolves the candy coating and the Mentos and Coke explosion can only happen in the coke bottle because it has a certain amount of pressure.

Drinking coke after eating mentos is perfectly safe and harmless since the only reason mentos makes coks fizz up is because of the thousands of tiny bumps and ridges on the outer coating on mentos, but once the mentos is chewed up and in your stomach the coating is way too far gone to cause the coke to fizz up. So please check up on your facts before calling out "false information"
A side note; people were actually hospitalized for eating mentos with diet coke. it then became a challenge to make rockets out of bottles with this science experiement taught to us in school. I totally remember. *LOOOL*
I never exploded myself but I remember putting one mento when my Diet Coke was almost running thinking nothing could happen but the reaction still happend people sitting by me were amazed

Fun fact, our stomach acid (also called gastric acid) is made up of digesting enzymes and hydrochloric acid. Our stomach acid is so corrosive it can dissolve metal but it dissolving metal takes longer than the amount of time food stays in our stomach
