I was 16 when this album came out and I remember how bad ass it was and still is, Iron Maiden are my favorite metal band of all time! Absolutely amazing band and phenomenal musicians and musical composition.

My favourite album is Somewhere in Time! I love it to absolute pieces. I think you should definitely experience alot of the music from the 80s, as this was when the band was in their prime. The 90s has always been referred to as a bit of a crappy period, there was also a new singer for The X Factor and Virtual XI, but there are still some outstanding songs from the 90s such as Be Quick or be Dead, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Fear of the Dark (gotta listen to it live, 2001), Sign of the Cross, Man on the Edge and The Clansman. Bruce rejoined the band in 1999 and there are 6 great albums recorded since then.

You just reacted to one of my most fav Maiden songs!. I first heard this album back in the 90s, i loved this song then and to this day i still love it out of most ALL metal songs from any band. The solo is massively overlooked. On re-listening you'll realize there's so much more going on in that short solo. The last song, Heaven can Wait is still a pretty good song, i loved it back in the day, now to me it's just another good song. The song i do hope you like is from the Powerslave album, 'The Duallists', it's overlooked a lot due to it being on the same album as the song powerslave and rime of the ancient mariner. It's got a cool bass in it too!, and man Bruce's vocals in that song are amazing!.. seriously.

Same here dude, my favourite Metal song. Check out the "licks of the beast", for a breakdown of how it is a compositional masterpiece.Expert guitarist shows how, virtually everyone gets the twin riff duet of Smith and Murray wrong.it is that experts favourite song also

Heaven Can Wait is probably 2nd from the bottom but still a fine song. It's also the 2nd most played live song from the album, behind Wasted Years. Would definitely suggest taking a peak at a live version after listening to studio version. Maiden does something live with this song that they've never done with any other song. Check out the Flight 666 DVD version of the song in Sao Paulo, 2008. Let me know if this doesn't completely kick ass live.

My favourites from this lovely, underrated, album are "The loneliness..." and "Alexander the Great", you loved too. Heaven can wait is a very nice song, for me way better than wasted years. I watched all your reaction to this album (I still have to watch the deja vu one), you made it well and choose a great album. I suggest you as other here the live version of heaven can wait, Iron Maiden's live give always something more to the songs, they know how to make them. For other songs or album I suggest you To Tame A Land and The Clansman as songs and seventh son of a seventh son as album, the top they reached (I love they made it with with some prog influence, although it's not prog metal)

Favorite albums 1.Somewhere In Time 2. Powerslave/ 7th son are tied 3. Piece Of Mind and then 4. Beast... Deja Vu is actually my top 2 favorite maiden songs with Caught Somewhere In Time as #1 and loneliness and Alexander a close 3rd... I tend to like the deep cuts or last song on each album (like Hallowed, To Tame A Land, Rime, Alexander, etc etc.) more but Aces High and Somewhere In Time are the exceptions for intro songs

It's my favorite album of all the albums in the world, I've found myself in it, it's the feeling, something like deja vu lol like it's made for me, it's also their most melodic and atmospheric album.

Trying to describe Maidens music can be difficult but in a positive way..With so many songs to pick from creating a top 5 or 10 or even 25 list can be difficult. Songs from being slow to fast from long to short and everything in between could easily start arguments as to which are the best songs. From this album Somewhere In Time is chock full upbeat positive sounds with Sea of Madness leading the way for me. From the beginning the song instantly grabs you makes you bang your head or jump up and down and again big time after the quiet calm part and quickly drives upwards again banging your head, especially if played really loud. Honestly if you need a quick pick me up you can't go wrong with this song, I'd also would pick Los' fer Words from the previous album Powerslave and Rainbows Gold a B side from also Powerslave. ( There are plenty others to choose from of course). As for my favorite album its definitely Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, its so magical and speaks to me on so many levels

Phantom of the Opera from the self title first iron maiden Album, sung by Paul Dianno. Only topped on Live After Death by Bruce Dickinson. Best Song: Revelations, live after Death. Best Album: Live After Death, my first Buy on Tape 1986, then got it on CD in the 90s and got mad by the cutted Version of Runnung Free on it and the missing Tracks... then on double CD Full Version forgot the year, 2005 maybe, and 2020 finally on vinyl. By the way, 911? 😁🤘

My favorite Maiden albums are Piece of Mind(album 4) and Number of the Beast(album 3), than Powerslave(album 5). Paul DiAnno was the singer on the first 2 albums, Iron Maiden and Killers. The first 2 have a more punk influence but are well worth checking out. Bruce Dickinson sang on albums 3 - 9 left to pursue a solo career and came back in 1999 to presents, albums 12-17. Blaze Bayley was the singer on albums 10-11 which I have no interest in. Like I said I'd go back finish off songs on Powerslave, then Piece of Mind, then Number of the Beast.
