Millia's New Move - Artemis Combos and Oki

Combo notation:
mz. = Mirazh
md = microdash
dl. = delay
wh. = whiff
art = Artemis (214H)
SDisc = 236S
HDisc = 236H
There's lots of stuff to cover with this move, but neutral implications and the like are something I wanted to leave for another time while we wait for the new meta to develop. I hope this helps in the meantime!
Expanding on the Bad Moon oki stuff:
The discs set here don't hit exactly meaty, and I don't think there's any way to get them to do that. However, they can't jump out, so the L/R still exists - it just means that their ability to reversal/mash has changed. If they're mashing on your disc sets though they are either insane or extremely smart or both.

I noticed you jump canceled the jD after badmoon 66FRRC. Is there a certain way you did that. I tried to replicate inputs but couldn't get it.

Are you getting 5D instead? If so you are likely inputting 66FRRC too quickly after Bad Moon. Millia is airborne after the second hit of Bad Moon, so if you wait until slightly after the second hit occurs, you should get jD after the FRC input. It’s a bit awkward to get down at first but you’ll get it.

@@TheDracopire I can do the regular jD into kapel into jS timing. Just cannot do a double jump after 66FRRC jD. I checked the millia cord and someone said it’s not possible to double jump there unless you do 88FRRC jD. But seeing him doing it here I was wondering how he did it.

it makes Millia go a bit higher, so she can do later meaties and do things like super jump disc jH jD which isn't possible with regular disc

i do use the mirazh shortcuts for Artemis cuz mirazh ends on 4 as it is, but for S/H Disc i do it the old way cuz of habit too yeah

i feel its due to it trying to already do what other moves do normally. a lot of other moves just give millia's gameplan already so if anything its mostly just an answer tool for certain use cases

For post wall break, is there any tip to hit kapel > j.s? That's the one part I can't hit no matter how I change the timing

The window between the kapel and j.S is very small even in the sample combo provided. Therefore, the delay the combo notates for the j.S means that a tight link must be performed, more specifically it must be late enough to land and use it's low juggle, but fast enough that the move still comes out at all. Think of it as if you simple added a tiny little *beat* after kapel recovers. Like, literally in your head while performing the combo, add a tiny beat of silence, should help! Alternatively, use j.K instead of j.S and you can regain a lot of the leniency in exchange for a chunk of damage.

Great video, i'm still looking into everything! Also, on the jHjD dl.Kapel dl jS md cS 214h 2s 2h mz.Sdisc combo, swaping the jS for jK(for me) made it more consistent, easier to time it, maybe its because you dont have to delay it or because the opponent is higher when it hits(maybe both).

In the last clip you said to do super jump install to surprise meaty people. What does super jump install do in strive? I know it was used to get an extra jump after super jump in Xrd but that doesn't seem to be what it's being used for here.

If you cancel your pre super jump frames with any special, it will install super jump properties to your character. Like falling slower and going a bit higher, This led to some air combos that aren’t possible without the install because you will land on the ground too early. Chipp also use this as it allows for more double or triple overheads mix that will catch people off guard too.

potatc1 mostly covered it, but yeah super jump install makes any move that goes airborne go a bit higher. this means you can do jH jD after disc which normally isn't possible, or use it to catch people fuzzy jumping disc after throw
