Very unique grain pattern... pleasant surprise. You must have a future project in mind that will show off this beautiful wood. To be honest, this is first time I have even seen Pecan. To date, Pecan = great tasting nuts. Now, I can add Pecan = great looking wood unlike anything else.

Yeah, Steven I really like the looks of it. There are quite a few more logs I have of the same Pecan Tree that I need to mill. I am kicking a few ideas around for some projects. After kiln drying and flattening, we will keep some and then quite a bit will be up for sale. Looking forward to the rest of the tree. Thanks for the comment!

That is a nice kiln. Congratulations! Dave Boyt finished my mill. I have about 10 hours on it so far. It’s a great mill. Beautiful slabs you got there.

First time seeing Pecan and I have to wonder if those were all bark inclusions or insect staining ?

My guess is that they are bark inclusions and not insect bites. I am not 100 % sure what those dark marks come from. Thanks!
