Mr. Bintz, as my high school band teacher from 2017-2020 I wanna say thank you. You may never see this message as what happens to a person after death is a great mystery, but I say this anyway. From the first day I met you, walking into class, being in your presence made me smile, it made everything bad disappear. Over the years, as time went on, we grew closer and I can confidently say you were my best friend in high school. There was no other person that I could talk to about anything and everything, whether it was life outside of school, my mental health, smash, or even just the state of the band at the time, you were always helpful and positive regardless of what was going on in your own life. You became an outlet of joy and positivity for all students, not just me, so when students "skipped class" because they had a "band lesson" it was likely because they were having an off day, feeling tired, stressed, sad, or any negative emotion. They came to you to feel better and smile again and in 40 min or less that's exactly what you helped them do. To say that you Loved music was an understatement, it felt, at least to me, that it was a part of you in a much greater way. You had to deal with so much shit from all the students and I truly feel bad how most of them never felt any remorse for disrupting class or disrespecting you in any way. But you always come out on top and continued to push us to be the greatest musician we could possibly be. And you might not have played every instrument to perfection, but if you didn't, you still knew how to help us grow and become better musicians. That's what made you such an amazing person, you were able to connect with every student, you went beyond the music and beyond being a teacher. To say that I learned a lot from you is an understatement, to say that you made the last 3 years of my high school career the best 3 years of my life would also be an understatement. I don't know where else to put this message, and there is far more to say about the amazing things that you did, but I hope whoever reads this knows what it means to have a true friend, that's what you were to me Bintz, and you always will be. Thank you for changing my life for the better, there is little I wouldn't give to spend one more minute in the band room with you, have one more laugh, performer one more piece of music. May you live on through the music of Millington, and the Chatham high school band. You made such a lasting impact on everyone's life you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, thank you for making my life whole and giving me 3 years worth of amazing memories.

Just discovered this band some time ago this year, and that the music has helped me through work. I was gonna write this down on 'Let you in' since that one hits home the most, but decided to drop this comment here since I could not. I'm always eagerly waiting for more music. I especially love the collaborations done with other ska bands like Half Past Two. I am ashamed to say that I’m still new and unfamiliar but reading the comments of the news, my heart sank. Prayers go towards the friends and families, and I hope Millington can come out stronger from this. Please keep up the great work, you guys! Rip Bintz.
