Clint Eastwood won Best Director, Hilary Swank won Best Actress, Morgan Freeman won Best Supporting Actor and also Best Picture. It deserved all of them
Blue, you reacted the exact same way we all did, with true emotion! This is the kind of movie that you only watch once or twice because it's soooo emotional. This is a fabulous movie and written wonderfully. It's what true movie making is about.
Clint Eastwood was famous for endings where the main character wins in the end. In the 2000's he changed it up, and made movies that turned grown men to mush. Billie "Blue Bear" was the boxing advisor and trainer for Hillary Swank. She plays a great villain, but she did a great job turning Swank into a believable fighter. Also, Swank hid the fact that she had a staph infection from a blister so they could finish filming. I love sports movies, but this might be my favorite one ever. Builds up such an amazing story and then hits you in the feels with a sledge hammer.
She's always been pretty but something about her in this reaction is absolutely stunning. I try to watch for the reactions but I'm not gonna lie, I'm smitten 🤣🤣🤣😍😍😍
It is called "сонная артерия" (lit. "sleeping/sleepy artery") in Russian. It's name in English "carotid" is related to the Greek word "caros" which means "deep sleep", "torpor". I don't know what Trixy's grandma's native language is, it has a similar name in Bulgarian "сънна артерия".
I remember watching HBO in 1980, maybe even one or two years earlier than that, but 1980 for sure. Definitely not a new thing. Side note: Netflix is 17 years old. Not as old as HBO, but I doubt I would call it a new thing anymore. It's finally old enough to watch R rated shows on, well, on itself.
She’s sharp. I think she’d appreciate the original series and films. I bet she’d enjoy it for the stories and characters and respect it for the time it was made.
Another great reaction to a very good film. And Blue, you're a badass! I didn't know you were a kickboxer for four years? You should post a demonstration video of your kickboxing skills. Perhaps maybe use the "Homies" as your sparring partners? Lol, just kidding! Anyway, Million Dollar Baby is very emotional, taking us through the highs and lows of the sport. And I would like to suggest an Eastwood film that you would enjoy, called "Heartbreak Ridge". Nobody has reacted to it and you would be the first, I believe. Thanks for a fine reaction, Blue, I'm always looking forward to your next flick. 🎥🍿❤️
My youtube subscription feed for today has reactors watching Million Dollar Baby, Train to Busan and Inside Out. After completing this one, I think I'll spread them out over a few days. Watching them back to back would wear me out emotionally (and probably dehydrate me with the crying).
That "chick" is Lucia Rijker - sometimes dubbed by the press "The Most Dangerous Woman in the World". Rijker eventually amassed a 36-0 (25 KO) record as a kickboxer, and won four different world titles. Also 17-0 in pro boxing.
Good film. Really nice storyline. Superb acting from a stellar cast. Your reactions to it...beautiful. Beautiful tears, too. Your funny, down to earth, and enjoyable to listen to. Easy on the eyes, too. What a tender heart. Guard her well. Like your style, a lot, kid. Big shoutout from the hills and mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. U.S.A. Take it easy, Trixy Blue. Be seeing ya on the next. Much peace and lots of love to you and yours. Bless you. Go with God. Later.
I grew up as a baby watching all these adult films and i get how certain graphic scenes stick. Scenes from saving private ryan and schindler's list stuck with me i remember when i first watched those films.
The fact that it's the parody version of this movie that traumatized her is rather funny. 🤭 Scary Movie 4 has that scene over and over again in different variations, pretty sure that's the one she saw. I still can't understand why she skipped most of the Rocky movies and went straight for... Creed... 🤔Oh, well. 🤨
I noticed that technical point as well. The other boxer was played by MMA champion Cris Cyborg and the fact that she wasn't disqualified really bothered me the first time I watched the film, but I came to understand that it wasn't important to the real story.
@@eluv9660 True, it's snot relevant to the story. But as a former instructor and referee for amateur fights, I'm always irritated by movies portraying fighters as cheap sucker punchers and referees as incompetent fools. Both of those things happen in real life, but both are rare - except in movies when they are the norm.
I’m confused on the editing for this one, especially at the end. There was a lot of dialogue left out, it made the reaction seem incomplete. Good reaction but half the time I didn’t understand what she was reacting to because the dialogue and/or scene was cut out completely
Just in case you don't know, when he was younger Clint Eastwood made a series of movies where he played a street fighter. Start with the movie Every Which Way But Loose. They are funny and Clint plays an awesome bare knuckler puncher.
Clint Eastwood's Oscar-winning drama "Million Dollar Baby" is able to transcend the tropes of a sports film by being a character-driven story centered around multilayered and complex people. Written by Paul Haggis, it stars Eastwood, Hilary Swank, and Morgan Freeman in a film that saw them all nominated for Academy Awards as this film tells a story about redemption, tragedy, and heart. We follow Frankie Dunn, a veteran boxing trainer who doesn't get close to many people aside from his long-time friend Eddie "Scrap Iron" Dupris, which is what makes the arrival of a woman named Maggie Fitzgerald very special. She asks Frankie to train her, which he immediately rejects saying "I don't train girls" but eventually he gives in and we get a beautiful relationship between the two that changes them both, even though it ends in one of the worst ways possible.
I think you are very brave to have watched this movie with the trauma from childhood. This movie hits hard no matter what. Your HBO comment was fun. If you like trauma I suggest the HBO series OZ. One of the first they did about prisons in the United Staes. It also hits hard and has a great cast. Great work Blue.
Hello Trixy Blue, this movie was released in 2004. It was the last movie that I saw in a theater. " Maggie's " next movie was called " Freedom Writers ". It was an uplifting movie with a happy ending. For some summertime comedy in your life then watch " Summer Rental " and " Captain Ron ". See you. " Hey! "
The bad girl, is the good girl in real life. This movie is about Lucia Ryker, she is considered the baddest woman on the face of this earth. The movie is called Million Dollar baby because this female boxer called the Coal Miners daughter, and she was getting a million dollar concert for an upcoming fight. Lucia Ryker was ANGRY so she went to the training camp of the Coal Miners Daughter and the body guards blocked her way, as she approached the bodyguards attacked her, and she proceeded to knock them out as they approached her. She was given a role in this fake movie about her real life. The bad girl is Lucia Ryker a real ass kicker, not a fake one! She has fought against men in the ring in professional fights. Mohammad Ali's daughter retired from boxing to avoid fighting Lucia Ryker, no female boxer is even close to her!
you did not show enough of the highlight's , You blurred to much content . Yet i admire you tried kick boxing and you do have shapely arms with bumps. LOL good reaction girl.
Great reaction, Blue! I love seeing great movies that are rare in the reaction community. Too much "group think". Lots of folks will vote for the 15th best Adam Sandler movie over an Academy Award winning film. Try "Sling Blade"(1996) for another great but overlooked film. Or try "In the Line of Fire"(1993) for another film starring Clin Eastwood.
This movie is like The Green Mile. It’s an incredible movie but you can’t watch it often because it takes so much out of you (as far as emotionally draining)
the monkeys in ' wizard of Oz.' way back it was a big TV event every thanksgiving.... obviously that was not a tragedy anything like the flick , just scary characters for a kid. imagine being 12 years old and the parents somehow, mid depression , saved up a dime to see that flick.! movies themselves being still kinda new.
A great movie with a shocking twist. You should see Mystic Reaver which is a great movie directed by Clint Eastwood. Another great movie of Clint is Absolute Power.
Blue, it’s not just you. The story is very deep. Imagine this though. You go to the cinema thinking you’re going to see like a Rocky type movie but about a woman. Then that part with the stool happens and it becomes a totally different movie. Hilary Swank won her 2nd Oscar playing this part. The movie was very highly regarded when it came out.
Hi hope you are ok you beautiful lady 💖 I so so can not what for you to watch the film old boy the American 1 and the film American werewolf in Paris well good films hope you are having a good week and weekend 😮😢🎉😊😊
The only issue I have with the film was how broad some of the characters were... and her family was portrayed like cartoon villains. It lessened the seriousness of the movie for me. Not one of Eastwood's finest achievements. Morgan Freeman, as always, was the best.
