I have been enjoying the content of these videos and appreciate seeing the "failures" as well as it gives a real life representation to what most of us will go through before succeeding. It helps to re-motivate and come up with solutions rather than becoming depressed that it didn't work and end up quitting. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this case study! Side note - As a car enthusiast, I love the choice of the 22B vs the TME Evo when discussing healthy competition and speed. That was a pleasant surprise!
😀after watching this video i noticed that Lenny you too are very detailed person and not letting anything untouched which is really great if you are laying a strong foundation of your business.😂😂
Great video. I finally got to this point, got my samples from three different providers, checked the quality, agreed on the MOQ, I'm just waiting to make my first big purchase and send it to Amazon. First God, I'll be successful! GREAT EPISODE!
Greetings Jungle Scout: Thank you for the GREAT lessons. I am wanting to sell my Protective Face Mask on Amazon (Design is USPTO Provisional Patent protected). Although it may seem that it is slightly late to be going to market, research shows that it is not too late. The manufacturer I chose turned out not to be a good fit for my brand which threw me back a few steps. However, I look forward to possibly being a "Million Dollar Case Study" Success. I say that because, what I have learned from your videos is enlightening, uplifting (for me) informatively and motivational. You brought me out of my deepening depressive state of mind slump. Thank you for that. I look forward to happier times and successfully going to market. Thank you again. V.B.
Wow! It means the world to us to be appreciated for what we do! Thank YOU! We know the road may not always be smooth, but it will be worth the ride! Good luck, and we wish for your success in #AmazonSelling! 😍😉 - FO
You guys do such a great job explaining everything and I have been enjoying your videos. I have a questions in regards to calculating your profits in this video. In your calculation example, your selling prices is based selling a 3 pack, but you are doing calculations of the landed cost based only on 1 unit, is that correct? If so, would your profit margins not be off?
@Jungle Scout Thank you for the reply, 15 of the FBA sellers (Movers & Shakers in Pet Supplies Top 50) , 7 of the 15 live in China, this can be verified by reviewing who the product is sold by. So there sourcing and selling from China. The other 8 of the 15 FBA sellers most likely source from China but live outside of China. Plus reviewing Top sellers and then reviewing sub-categories and 90-95% of the time Amazon will always be #1 or #2. How does a new FBA seller compete, do we have to pick products that are not touched by Amazon or top brands and have razor thin margins.
Great series and well explained Lenny, just one thing, the moment i try to download the FBA Profit Calculator and the Purchase Order Agreement Template from the link provided it keep asking for permission which i sent already many times and nothing happened, i am a member in jungle scout and i have the yearly subscription if that matter to get the permission. keep up the good work and thank you again.
Thank you for the excellent video, JS I have a quick question: its wonderful listening to all the great success stories, I'm a little concern after doing some research on Amazon's website and reviewing the products that appear on page one for different categories, it appears most of the product sellers are from China, rarely I'll notice a US or other countries name listed as the sellers company address. How can new sellers compete against China or Amazon? Example: reviewing Movers & Shakers in Pet Supplies Top 50 (count: FBA 15 (from the 15, 7 are from China) Brand name: 6, AMZ and AMZ Warehouse 29
Please keep in mind that most of those sellers source from China, but they are not always Chinese Sellers/suppliers 😊Hope this puts your mind at ease! ^PW
Hey, thank you for the informative case study. I have a question: In your total cost per unit, do you not consider the import duty? Or is it included in the shipping cost?
Hi great content thank you very much, But I have a small doubt if we send products directly from Supplier to Amazon Fba, we have to include labels.how we can include that label's to suppliers and ask them to attach.is there any video for that
They should be below 5% and shouldn't impact massively your profitability but it's smart to at least give them some thought: choose products with low return risk and make sure the instructions are very clear if it's complex to use
Thanks for the case study, enjoying it so far. My biggest question is, how did you guys differentiate this product besides making it a 3-pack? I remember in a previous video that you had an idea for how to differentiate it given its a highly competitive niche, but I haven't seen much differentiation so far and you've already ordered the product
Thanks you guys for such a great case study, I am learning a lot from this. Just wondering if this is a good idea or not to order my product at my home address and then I send it to amazon, because I want to see it 1st🙈.Would it increase the price too much ?Would really appreciate your suggestion. Thank you
Hmmm... We currently don't have that handy, but I'll forward this to our Content Team. In the meantime, I've done a quick google search and found good templates you can use. 😉
Great Video! Can you tell me what's the reason for not using PayPal for bigger purchases? Their processing fees are not larger than other services are they? I've been using PayPal for over 20 yrs. now w/o any problems and have a decent amount of credit established with them.
Most suppliers actually don't take Paypal as a payment option. But if your supplier is okay with Paypal, I don't see any reason why not to go for it. 😉-Rs
@@junglescout Because you will be able to change the price (just like your example) and have fees updated (contrary to your example). The FBA fees are fixed and depend on the product weight & dimensions, the referral are a cut of the price (often 15%)
I hear what you mean, but in this case, where we only have one product and price, then there's no need to break those into two different lines, right? 😄
@@junglescout Have you watched the video? I posted this comment specifically because he wants to see his profitability at another price point on the same product
Lenny thanks very much for this information. I´ve a question. Do you send the contracto when you alrady has an agreetment? when do you show the contracto to the supplier?
If you referring to the Purchase Order Agreement template on the video, you can show this to your supplier and ask them to sign it before making the initial order. 😃 - FO
Hey thanks again you have a really a very great knowledge about all these stuff..but whenever i see your videos i feel super motivated and understand everything but i feel that there is still something i dont know..is it natural or its just me?
There are a lot of things that are quite confusing at the beginning, but no worries! You will learn everything that you need when you keep on grinding 😊^PW
Hi, I am from Ottawa, Canada. I am going to register my corporation today and i have question about opening a cross border banking account. BMO Harris is taking about 10 weeks time. Any suggestions for a quicker and better option? Should i just open CAD business account or should i use other services like Payneer/Tranferwise? and get funds trf to my CAD when needed? Would suppliers take payment from those two? Thanks
@23:30 you told us that "if you don't have jungle scout you could use ASIN number in seller central" and than you go back to jungle scout to copy paste ASIN hahaha jokes asides you are doing a great job I've learned a lot!
What do you do if the supplier does not follow purchase order agreement? Take it to court? I wondrr what power the Amazon store owner has in this situation? Btw, love the series! Can't wait for next ep and EU edition
@@junglescout I have not paid anyone anything. I have never done amazon FBA. I just wonder what would happen if the supplier does not follow purchase order agreement?
I don't believe you can get this unless you have an LLC or business prior. You may want to check with the supplier directly about what options they have!
hey, I recently bought jungle scout and they have charged me for a one month plan but when I try to log in it says access denied I do not know what to do as when I send a forgot password email it does not work and there isn't any way to contact jungle scout directly can anyone help?
I am going through the video again, and I've notice something, I have sent a request before to be able to download the FBA Profit Calculator file but I have not received any feedback yet, are we still able to download it?
hey lenny i was just wondering about som things: 1) Was the package design and the logo design of the product included in the total amount that you paid? 1b) Was the airfreight price included in the final cost? 2) Is the complete sample ( final product design, package design) available for air freight 3) are there any problems if i dont open a US Bank Account if i am not a US Citizen and stay with the bank account that i already have? 4) would you run a promotional giveaway and a ppc campaign in the same time?
1) Yes, it was! 1b) Correct! You always need to include the shipping costs :) 2) This would depend on how you agree on that with your supplier. 3) As long as your currency is supported, you shouldn't need to have opened a US bank account. Though, it would be best to check it with Amazon Support! 4) Yes, as long as you can afford it, that's not a problem at all ^PW Best of luck!

I'm from Mexico and I'm planning to launch my first product in the Mexican Marketplace. My bank account is in Mexican Pesos but my bank lets me do International wire transfers in dollars. Can I use this service safely to pay suppliers or is it mandatory to have a Payoneer/TransferWise account in dollars for this purpose?
One thing I don't quite understand: Your profitability calculator talks in terms of "single unit", but you are selling three to a pack. If your single unit Landed cost is $9.25 and you are selling a 3 pack for 29.99, the landed actual cost is $9.25 x 3 = $27.75 for one pack, which leaves $2.24 profit (not counting any FBA Fees). Or maybe I missed that one "unit" is 3 pads, and you had the supplier package them this way? (3 to a pack)
@@junglescout yes i am. i bought Jungle Scout and i've been going through pretty bad analysis paralysis for the past 3 months. it's hard to convince myself to start this because the market seems so flooded. i need to snap out of that mindset though. your videos are giving me the motivation i need to keep going though. thank you so much for this.
As a beginner, we recommend sticking to one product so you gain experience but if you are comfortable launching multiple products at one time, go for it! It just may be easier to stick to one and then plan for the second launch right after. :)
Great suggestion, Nick! 😃 We use the Million Dollar Case Study to educate people on how to sell on Amazon and we'd hate to overwhelm any beginners. I'll certainly pass this over to the content team; it would make for an interesting series 🤔 - LJ
Don't know how I bumped onto this. All in all GREAT video ❤️. I also have been watching those rather similar from mStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys make these stuff. MStar Tutorials also had amazing info about similiar things on his vids.
The episode being called "product selection", why do you cover only one product? Shouldn't you do the math for 3/4 products and choose the most profitable one?
@@junglescout JS what does FO mean please? No. I've got the extension though and have just registered my TM and website here in the UK. :) FO = eff off lol.
I see. That's fair! Although, you can achieve better ACOS after fine-tuning your campaign. :) You can see our guide about this here: www.junglescout.com/blog/amazon-ppc-best-practices/
@@junglescout I can only offer my feedback, that the tone of the presenter causes me to switch off. It doesn't feel genuine, like someone reading from a script like some of those awful online marketing courses. As for the reaction style video inserts, they are so"stock" , not even funny. Everyone wearing orange feels like an Amazon sponsored video :(
No need to be sad, we really appreciate it! 😉 Your feedback really helps us to improve! 🤗 I'll submit your feedback to our Content Team for them to address it in our next videos. 🧡 -RS
