Very true, I started investing before the pandemic and that same year I pulled a profit of about $750k with no prior investing experience, basically all I was doing was seeking guidance from *ROCHELLE DUNGCA-SCHREIBER* who's a guru in the game, you can be passively involved with the aid of a professional.
But I bet ya... as soon as the rest went against Simon's way...... Simon would've been on the winning side... BUT IF, Simon did not know what the others were up to, then that strategy might've worked for the rest of the team....

The lady with 2 kids, she is an entrephrenor, she has so many qualities that are priceless. Such exceptional confidence and calmness, such she is rational and accept that market goes up and goes down. Most importantly, she is strong in mind and trust instinct and the market, she is not emotionally attached, did her due diligence, and for a person like this, that s exactly what it takes to live in this market.

The problem with Simon is he was only investing in companies he knew & believed were good companies. He believed in investing in "British excellence" over common sense. If he saw a commercial on TV that he recognized, that's his winner.
Not only did the show provide an invaluable perspective of an actual trading floor, but was also an excellent example of why banks/high finance roles generally do not hire older candidates for entry-level roles. True masterpiece this is.
Man simon has that personality that just grates on you. I can't put my finger on it, but I've met other men like him that just annoy me. Like as people. Best description I can come up with is he's just soft. Like a doughnut with no sugar
After watching this I realized that Trading isn't for everyone, it's a very hard job to get easy money. The level of stress and pressure you feel is way beyond what average people can handle.
It is smart of that retired Major to invest in companies that he already had expertise in, as he'd have deeper understanding of those companies than anybody else in the room.
I'm pretty sure that all of them would have done better if they did not have cameras on them all the time. Caroline's demeanor is awesome despite all the pressure. She is an example of a really strong woman whom I would enjoy working with on a project.

id give like everything but ive been trading (forex not stocks) for the past year and only recently started seeing green.. but for someone who has no knowledge this is alot of inspiration and guidance enough to make you want to open those trades and learn more about it. From my experience so far ive learned that when you trade you better trade with no emotion at all.

Arthur Sandomine it’s not stupid cause it’s true. He at least admits to not knowing. Jack shit cause they actually weren’t taught anything. These guys are just an experiment to see who can be the 10% that will profit and who can generate ideas and strategies on how to trade by themselves.
I love the way the team work in unity, being open to one another and consoling one another. They even applauded Simon, and the supervisor also appreciated him despite the loses. Despite the loses, Simon went motivated. Here in Africa, they will laugh at you. They will not even applaud you. In fact, they will destroy your self esteem completely.
As someone who actually trades I can tell you one thing: Lex new this was going to happen. When I listen to their thinking process, hear the losses they are taking I feel almost physical pain myself. There is no way a newbie day trades in a consistent manner, especially on fundamentals. Good show tho!
But I think he was trying to sell his course. He offers for sale the same course that these traders apparently went through. And they did beat the market. They lost less as a unit during the period of this show than the average professional trader, so while they still lost, during this very difficult and tumultuous period they still technically outperformed most professionals. So I guess his course kind of got the publicity it needed. Obviously trading is a very difficult discipline. I think in a way, he probably hoped that taking non-traders might be easier than attempting to train traders that already have so many bad habits, nuances and biases.
SAME...that stinging feeling inside brought me back to 2017-2020...I did nothing but get my ass handed to me for years trading...wasn't until more recently did I start having green weeks, months and years...on track for my third straight green year and no red months...just red days and a few red weeks this year. It's hard af and it takes a long time...took me a long time. Tbh it's not worth doing unless you are really into it, because if you aren't one of those rare people who are pretty good fairly quickly...you are gonna have a very hard time and you'll have to grind, and it's fvcking painful...only thing that will get you through the pain, is having a real zeal and passion for the markets...and good money management skills. Some people get into this, think they really want to do it...experience that pain, and then they give up. It's not nice constantly getting your ass handed to you by the markets....but since I dealt with it so long I don't even got bothered by losses anymore, cruise through them and look for the next play.
Lex, I watched this show when it premiered on the BBC and I still think it is one of the best TV shows that ever came out. I really want an update on Caroline and Ohi, they were great.
Caroline is my mum, she didnt go onto do anything to do with trading, she focused on us really, we moved to the West Country and now she invests in our yard which is cool
I'm a bouncy ball in the market. The better the wind the better I bounce, some positions change & I always have a stop button. Let one bounce fly high. Keep the lows eyes open .
Kriss Ichi day trading is pretty unpredictable. When you see green you usually pull out soon after before it might go red again. Swing trading is better though since it’s focused on a bigger picture and more stable depending on the stock or ETF.
Simon has a stubborn almost arrogant mindset due to his field/personality. He thought he could just come in without any DD/research and do just about any job and he would succeed. Even when he failed-multiple times- he refused to listen and learn.
IT people likes researching and learning all the time but Simon isn't one of them. I'm sure another person would go home buy books/research and learn as much as possible to succeed, but if you go home take a rest or play videogames then you won't go anywhere.

@Toin Probably a bad IT guy, I work in IT and he is full of shait. I also trade, but I am in the money, just because i watch the news, do technical analysis etc. Good IT guys/girls want to know everything about the thing they are going to do. Simon just doesn't give a crap.
Yes, Simon, it really does work like in IT. The difference here is that in the trading world they program those computers to put impatient traders in the red long enough for you to realize a loss. Because they know your types.

Simon being an IBM tech veteran i sort of expected a lot more out of him but i guess this just shows how you can't always go by someones resume when picking out an "employee"
Simons error when he made the Cadbury’s trade was when he said “I’f the world is going to end your grab a Mars bar”!!!! Cadbury’s don’t make Mars Simon come on man.
She said that she was fine with 25,000 vice 50,000. In episode 3 when she was cut, she cried because she cut and exclaimed that she should have been given more money.
Not sure how people can say Cleo is awful. She makes a pretty valid point as to why she isn't trading lol. This show was filmed during the worst crash sense the great depression. Just about everyone was affected in a really negative way during this time, everyone got hit by the crash pretty harshly. Her point she keeps trying to make to the boss is that she is finding it hard to trade during this time, which she is right. Only the best of the best that really knew their shit would be able to profit during the crash, which is like less than 5%, probably much lower... You have to be a pro to make $ in the market during this time, period. She realized this and that is why she was playing super passive. Then she has everyone telling her to trade and forcing her to trade, which is a recipe for disaster when you start to get emotionally involved in your trades. It's not her fault, she was doing the smart thing and being super careful in a very bad market. The reason the boss was being so dumb and forcing them to trade is because THIS IS A SHOW, and he is basically forced to be dumb so the show would be a hit and he would make his $ from it. If anyone truly things Cleo is awful, you are an idiot and would of done no better than her. I've been trading the market for years, it isn't easy to just pick it up and start profiting. If you are a beginner and decide to jump into the market during a market crash lol, yeah good luck with that.

wow!, i see Larry's good deeds is speaking for him, Mr kent earned my trust since December last year till now, when my colleague got paid after investing USD 2300....and since then i tried and have been enjoying the crypto money.
So much better and less stressful to just trade technical analysis at the comfort of your own home, remotely, any time, without a suit, following a rule based strategy and risk management... Much less stress, uncertainty and consistent opportunities, never had to rely on fundamentals. But if it works with fundamentals, absolutely!
Sadly Mike (army) checked out earlier this year. "Sam, its a bad world..." . I guess it was too. He actually seemed to have the right stuff to have a chance at trading I thought.
I think at that time video has been made, the guy that is obsessed in a ethical value of his investments would be actually the one profiting the most if considering long investments. Of course Hedgefond is daytrading and not investing. But i hope this guy invested back then :)

If you're watching the price action, going, "Oh no, it's going down. Should I sell now?" that's a huge red flag. You should know exactly where and why you're exiting a trade before you even enter the trade. Take all human element out of it or else you're basically just going off gut instinct, which mostly runs on fear and doubt.
To be honest, the voice over really, give a lot more tips and tricks like "For those who hedge well, are effectively bailing out on less successful trades." This already giving me the basic idea of building a portfolio and cut those unsuccessful trades leaving a positive outcome on the P&L. On the backend we have to research and do some homework always input ideas. Just with this ideas, I straight away went into invest on plus500+ shorting AAPL and Buying it at my choosen price and buying EUR/USD. will update again in September.
