Good on him. He needs to get Albert back from Texas. He had his own alligator apartment. If you watch the DoDo you know all animals have the ability to adapt, to love, and find companionship across species and environments. The procurement of such animals is where the iffy part comes in. Most on the DoDo are rescued, abandoned before they can survive, or something of this sort. Give the man and Albert their companionship, if there has been no issue in 30 years, then they should be grandfathered in or at the minimum given a path to keep him. Definitely needs to get him out of that park. That is super sus. 👀

Okay, this episode is beyond unbelievable. Between the multiple attempts on the wife’s life and the gator government kidnapping story, umm… makes my life seem not as overwhelming and chill. Thanks guys. This is better than therapy and cheaper.

Today is my 41st birthday - it's nice listening to such soothing voices in the morning. I love hearing all the different takes on situations. My heart truly goes out for the alligator guy - I would be heartbroken.

I am glad Ms. Garcia views this alligator as a being. This is like the man’s child. I dont like animal being in captivity but to drag him away from someone who has cared for him this long it is sad. They do this to parents too- take away their kids but these three letter organizations have too much power- we have given too much of our freedom to those elected to rule.

Albert must be returned immediately. Wildlife experts would attest that completely changing an animals environment is very stressful for the animals. Albert isn't even in a similar environment. People DO safely have alligators as pets. Albert has a fabulous set up. Not all of them have anything that mimics much of the natural environment. The man had permits for decades & now all the sudden someone is on a power trip & making decisions without considering what's best for the animal, the law, etc. Raiding his home & taking possession of the alligator is a gross abuse of authority. BTW, a few people have an alligator as a support pet.

Albert looked happy and well fed. I am sure he had heating too. At this point Albert can't survive in the wild so if his owner already had a permit to raise him for 30 years, it's extremely unfair and cruel to do this to Alfred and his owner if there were no safetu issues or really valid concerns for Alfred's wellbeing. Sounds like a birocratic stuff-up. Alfred should be returned and his owner fully compensated for expenses, pain and suffering. For pet lovers our animals are part of our family. This was cruel and unnecessary.

To understand this case, it’s important to know that in Florida, the Family Law Judge controls the prosecutor and the Police, and DCF. The “authorities” don’t investigate anything at all without asking permission from the Family Law Judge and attorneys. Illegal but EXACTLY how it works in Florida.

Poor Albert. His human fought so hard for him. Imagine if they decided my chihuahua was dangerous and came after him -- his heart would be broken if he got shipped off to Texas! I love Ana in pit bull mode on behalf of a gator! And why can't one have a private zoo in New York, even a public zoo or an aquarium? Reptile conservators plan for the climate when they want to display critters from elsewhere. It isn't the geographic location of the alligator that's the problem, it's the state not recognizing the established expertise of the owner. Grrrrrr....

I appreciate your assessment of the Albert the alligator saga. I live in Western New York not far from Hamburg, and I think Tony got caught up in some bureaucratic nonsense here. This isn't someone who was secretly keeping a pet alligator. Tony had obtained permission to have this animal and was trying to renew the permit with revised requirements. If the state had issues with Albert's enclosure or physical condition, the owner should have had an opportunity to correct the issues or refute them before his animal was seized and relocated hundreds of miles away. There's something disconcerting about how this went down.

I think it’s terrible they took Albert away from his human. Return the gator!! 30 years together! That’s his kid! SMH

They probably would only be able to put the alligator in a place that can still keep him isolated by himself as he is domesticated and he has never been around other alligators which likely would make him more vulnerable to getting hurt or even killed by the other alligators. The fact that they rejected his application AFTER they had taken him, they cant even use the excuse that they never received the applications he submitted!!
