Millionaire - Josina Reaves' Path to the Top (Sept. 25, 2013) 

This is the first million dollar question in the shuffle format.

The big difference between this game and Ken Basin's primetime game four years ago is that, thanks to the new 'Jump The Question' lifeline introduced shortly after the latter game, Josina risked a lot less ($75K) on the $1M question than Basin ($475K). It's interesting to see how the new 'Randomizer/Jump' format has changed the game around.

You cannot jump over the $1,000,000 question, so if you have any Jumps on that question, they become void.

The $1 Million music has an additional bed in it, on top of the $500,000 music cue.

Fun fact: The $100,000 question also applies to Hewlett-Packard!

Man, tough break. She definitely had a lot of guts to go for that. It was still really exciting to finally see someone at least get to the Million Dollar Question on a regular game. She has my respect!

See, the strategy I've come to notice on these extremely advanced questions is to pick the answer that a person with little/no knowledge of the subject would think is LEAST likely to be correct. I mean, digging graves & cheating at card games makes sense, because of what Josina said & because Nostradamus is known as a psychic and a "magician" of sorts, and that kinda also ties in to the parrots answer. But who in their right mind would think Nostradamus would know anything about food?

She's better than Ken Basin. That's all that matters.

I thought it was cheating at card games. At least she didn't risk as much as Ken Basin. Phew!

She answers 11 questions correctly and yet sees the million dollar question, then loses less than $100,000. The new millionaire format somehow made the million dollar question inconsequential. The old format it was serious and intense and losing was awful. The vibe often was "I am sure but I am not 100% sure and don't want to lose $468,000 so I'm walking way". Here it felt like oh well no big deal.

I should have known her $250,000 question because Alan Shepard is from my home state of New Hampshire.

Yeah I knew the Nostradamus answer from QI too. I was a little bummed there isn't a special million dollar background music. I guess they didn't expect anyone to ever get there!

I knew the Million Dollar Question because of QI. He got everything wrong other than making a cherry jam recipe.

Wow, I would've won a million if I were there.

Why is $1 millon dollar question always something you have to assume and make logic out of. She had the right logic, yet she still got it wrong. Its like the easiest question on steriods multiplied by 10000. 100 + 4 zeros

Plus the $250,000 question is EASY to anyone with a little knowledge of early space travel & the Apollo era. Why? Because Shepard was the first American in space and the ONLY occupant of Freedom 7.

Aw, geez...if she had known that Nostradamus' "day job" was being an apothecary, that one was a hanging curve right over the plate.

What is happen when a contestant has won $250,000 with 2 jumps? Would she have won the million if she got the 250K or 500K question right?

The world is coming to an end! But in case it's not, here's a recipe for cherry jelly...
