What a major difference of then and versus now. Before unbelievable architecture, attention to detail, class and expensive materials used , now, unfortunately primarily boxy plain , glass, and brick structures. Kind of sad to see we’ve lost such beauty .

Nice video, but you forgot to mention Mather Mansion which is one of very few remaining mansions to still exist.

Nicely done. I grew up a mile off of Euclid Avenue in Euclid, and have heard about millionaires’ row for decades. Great way to tell the story.

During my senior year at Case Western Reserve, we got to live in the old Drury mansion at 86th and Euclid. Though I never saw it, there was supposedly a tunnel that ran from under the house to thePlayhouse. What a blast it was. By the way Drury’s country House is almost identical and is now part of Gilmore Academy at Cedar and Som Center Road..

Wow! That corner had 4 separate buildings within 100 years before they decided to keep the highrise building. Crazy how much effort was put in just to be torn down.

New sub here, lifelong Clevelander and I have a love of our rich history. I would love to see you do a video on Cleveland’s rival at the time, Newburg Hts, (in addition the defunct township of Corlettt that eventually became apart of Newburg Hts and then both being annexed to Cleveland).

Fun fact. That PNC office building at e9 and euclid has the most affordable parking garage for sporting events in Cleveland. $10 for all day parking.

Do you hv info on the home of John Samuel Oram? He invented the machinery for mfg of barrel staves( & the barrselof course)which was a major industry supporting the Rockefeller oil industry. 13:46

Wow great video simple. Fun. Informative. I thought the roxkefellar mansion was on millionaire row also? .... I would like to come to the conclusion that these mansions buildings church's were allready here. And when the supposed men who built them passed it was put in wills to destroy the evidence. The moorish inside speaks volumes.

Is there a reason why you didn't outright name the replacement buildings? This is great information. Thank you. But, why did you choose to be so vague about the names of the current structures? Also, I think you skipped over the Mather & Rockefeller mansions. The Mather mansion is still there and is owned by Cleveland State Univ. The Rockefeller mansion was located on the SW side of E.40th & Euclid. It's now the site of the Sewage building. Additionally, the Drury mansion remains intact (at 86-87th Street & Euclid). It's currently owned by CCF (the Cleveland Clinic Foundation). I just discovered your channel, so maybe that's just your style to be ambiguous about things. Beautiful homes replaced with ugly ugly buildings

Im sick of residential high rises. Modern architecture doesnt impress me.

America can't preserve its beautiful history for some stupid reason.

So in summary, a bunch of amazing mansions with ornate architecture, are replaced with ugly, cheaply built rectangular boxes, or turned into parking lots. Gross. But good history lesson, thanks.
