Hi Sarah! I appreciate you giving us such a great view of the Quartzsite area. I'm just entering nomadic life and am planning to attend the 2024 RTR gathering there next month. Looking forward to meeting so many in the nomadic community and hearing about their experiences, advice and suggestions. Thank you for giving me a peak at where I can setup camp!😊

Hi Sarah, from Tennessee . Another great video . Always nice "traveling" around with you & Lil One . Having traveled to 27 states in two years, thats great . Lil One has a cute little shadow when shes out exploring
Will find out after the first of the year if I will have to become a van lifer. So Quartsite may be in my future. Loved seeing your locs pulled back and down so we could see your new beads again. Have fun!
In my mind, it would be a good place to stay put for winter, to save funds for summer road travel... Feasibly, you could stay there 7 months and save a bunch
Am getting ready to head out from Michigan soon. I am sort of a spontaneous procrastinator, so whenever the urge arrives and the road calls ever louder, then it's time to go. Hope to meet you in Q.
Thank you for bringing this to us Sarah. There is so much more to Quartzite than the Big Tent. It looks like such a peaceful place where you could easily talk to God. God Bless you and Little One in your travels and adventures.
Just finished watching RVTV video on the Quartzite Christmas parade, saw you and little one there! Really nice place to spend the Winter time months in.💕🎄🐩
You should have a meet up!! I’ll be there by NYE!! I’m meeting some other women too, but will be alone for the first week or so, just me and my little 5 pound chihuahua. Last year was my first year and I absolutely loved it.
Politicians are seriously missing out on a very loyal base of citizens, and are too oblivious to "see" or know it. They mistakenly believe all Nomads are homeless and in poverty. Real Estate taxes aren't the only important source of funds. Looks lovely out there; thanks for sharing this video with us. I do wish different groups or "Families" of Nomads would start a few petitions focusing on their needs and interests, and take said petitions to these yearly gatherings of Nomads for signatures. The opportunities and respect for such lifestyles might improve, just a bit anyway. Yes, it's beautiful where you are right now. My best wishes!
Good morning Sarah and lilone!!!❤ I will be there going through Quartzsite on Christmas day from Phoenix to visit my family in Orange county!! And your right it does get crowded there in the winter time!! I hope you, lilone and your followers have a nice traveling Christmas 🎄 😊. See you on the next adventure!!👋😃🎅
Some great places for you to explore near Quartzsite: Kofa National Wildlife Refuge (Hidden Palms Canyon) just south of Quartzsite off of 95 south. And there's Imperial Dam LTVA near Yuma AZ (has 2 lakes in the Recreational Area of Imperial Dam (my favorite is the Senator Wash NORTH shore where you can find some "hidden" coves to camp at along the beach of the lake. There's bathrooms all throughout this area also. The Recreational Area pass for the area with the lakes is $15 per day/night (1/2 off if you have the America The Beautiful parks pass). Even though there's a cost for overnite stays at the lakes, if you have the LTVA pass from Quartzsite, you can go to any of the 2 lakes during the DAY TIME only without having to buy the $15 daily pass / $75 annual pass. Hopes this helps if you are wanting to check out Imperial Dam LTVA and Recreational Areas. 😀
Hello from Canada! That looks like a great place to be. I went for a walk around town today. The river is frozen but the lake is still open water. Won't be too long before it's all froze over and ice fishing begins. I think I would rather be there in the warmth.
Hey Sarah! Always look forward to seeing your videos…I love the Southwest and watching your videos makes me want to sell my house pack up and go on the road…❤
I love watching you, I'm always learning something. Have a refreshing stay, give little one a hug from me, take one for yourself. Seasons greetings. xx
The area between Q and Bouse is 4 wheeler heaven. I do most of my trail riding near Bouse around the 3 Sisters region. Those are the 3 peaks on the south side of Plomosa Rd. Trails are endless.
After your visit I headed out the next day .. stopped in Gila Bend .. found a really neat Air Force Fam Camp about 2 hours from home and it is $12 a day with full hookups! Has the same openness as Quartzite where you can see horizon to horizon .. love that for night viewing. 🤠
Some things about Quartzsite. It began as a mining community, quartz is used for electronic and other industrial uses, that's where the name came from. The first winter events were the rock and gem shows, I don't know the year. At that time many people came in in their RVs and stayed on BLM land. Quartzsite is really low in elevation, 879 ft above sea level. Yuma is at 171 ft, That makes this area somewhat warmer in the Winter. The long term areas are really popular, some people set up and stay in one place, others move around the region staying at the BLM sites, which are huge.
My aunt used to stay the winter in her motorhome at Quartzite 30 or so years ago. She enjoyed seeing old friends, and the warm weather. She would not recognize it today, it has changed a lot. But with the big crowds that the area attracts, there are way too many odd and sketchy folks coming around to prey on the vulnerable. Keep your eyes open Sarah!
You are one lucky lady to have such a nice scenic place to camp and a well behaved little dog as protection. I bit it will be hard to leave the area but your be back later.
Where do you shop for food in Quartsite.Seems expensive to have to drive into town every few days.Do you need a large refrigerator to store food for a week or so? Are there cheap supermarkets?
The tent is a great idea! For safety i know solo travelers will also put out 2-3 folding chairs just to make it appear that there isnt just one person. Thats something i plan on incorporating.
Very interesting about this place , since you have been traveling you must have a lot of information that so many would be curious to know , it would be nice to hear more about places to stay and also your most important items that you use and the things you really didn’t need to have and also about your jeep community support very curios my daughter has a Jeep . Thanks for sharing !
New subscriber here, I started going to Quartzite in 2017 and love the community of travelers. I won't make it to Q this season. I look forward to watching your videos. Safe travels.
I was planning on heading out there from MN in January and get away from Minnesota’s winter. But……… I fractured my foot and don’t think I’ll be recovered in time. I was hoping for my maiden voyage in my ambulance rv and first time in Quartsite and surrounding area.
For seven months, l had people ask if l knew this dog sat across from my van? I said yes, her name is Sonja, and sometimes she would lay in the Sun, and other times she would lay in the shade, but all the time, she was being a dog.😉
Bishop, CA, also caters to travelers because it's surrounded with Eastern Sierra BLM, and it's right on the PCT. I lived outside there for a few months when I was living outside, and it's a great town if you're in the area.
It definitely is good for the rv'ers and provides a place for everyone to stop at----can't beat the prices and convenance that it offers!!!! Stay safe and be aware of your surrondings!!!!
❤ya Sarah love your Outstanding videos you live the life of a gypsy freedom adventure is your road remember head on swivel take care of your beautiful self❤you
I'm 44, and for about several years now iv been wanting to go boondocking or live in my ride. I have a 2011 Chevy Avalanche that would be perfect I think to sleep in. I live in Utah so yes I could just go live in my backyard in God's country but I can't stand the heat, and I cant stand the cold, so I wast money on rent and bills. Oh well, but yes your videos inspire me to go try it one day
Quartzite is where gold nuggets weighing pounds are found. Not just have been, still are found with metal detectors and, with a simple magnet on a string, you will find meteorites!
husband speaking age 80 It is 7:30 am in Cebu, PH. 79 degrees and raining. The dogs will have to walk them selves around our large compound. My wife was going to take her car to town to be washed with clean water because what we get in the Resort is cleaned sea water. But, ' GOD'S ' free water is giving it a free wash.
Have you noticed that wherever you go out west its windy or going to be windy soon? I guess its the mountains forcing the wind between them to speed up
Hey Sarah. You look good. And happy. True, it will be a mad house after Christmas down there around the Q. And I totally get it, its about community for most of those folks. But I like staying around up here near Lake Havasu better in the Winter. Way less people, way more services, shopping, groceries, etc., up. Enjoy your time out there. bt
Actually, things are pretty expensive in Q. If I need groceries or supplies, I go to Parker. They have a fantastic Safeway, Walmart, great restaurants and a casino. Much better prices than Q.
Every hippie in the world that doesn't have anything to do is there ...I love quartzite..it's what it is...I lived there in the early 80s.. worked for the Oldham with the car lot...it's warm...I lived outside of town. In a mine shaft ..with a air conditioner and a wood stove..and a generator..
I don’t understand Quartzsite. I don’t understand the concept. Will you post a video in January after the crowds come in? This is very interesting to me. You remind me of freedom
If you think it's crowded now, you shoulda seen it about 25 years ago. I first came out in 1997 to visit my parents, who lived in nearby Bouse. They took me to Q for the Rock & Gem show and traffic was backed up for miles coming into town. RV's were packed to the max on both sides of Plomosa Road and it was walking shoulder to shoulder thru the show areas. Parents are gone but I still come out to rockhound and enjoy Yahweh's beautiful scenery.
$180 sept 15 to apr 15...$40 for 2 weeks... free camping is 2 weeks and then you have to move 25 miles away, population of the town Quartzsite is around 2850.....the ltva has dump station and water garbage and toilets,as far as millions, not quite but for jan yes about 750000 to one million, mind you yes people come and go through the winter, but who knows how many,no one knows.....
