I’ve noticed the changes first. It starts out like a frog in a documentary. Then you feel very large frog. suddenly after the crab pinches Milo, the frog is looking smaller. Come to think of it. It doesn’t look like a toad?
Funfact, milo and otis was a snuff film, over twenty kittens died and ones paw was broken intentionally to make it look unsteady while walking. There is also a cut scene where one of the milo's was actually fighting a bear and was mauled to death
Why no, I didn't know about it when I was six. And now that I do know about it, I'm still not that concerned. You see, it IS possible appreciate the merits of the final product AND disapprove of the methods by which it was made.

@@plus9775 Wrong - they used anaesthetic on the paw to make it appear broken. There is no proof of animal deaths after the AHA did an investigation into it.
To the people believing the rumors are fake ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZptPu75E4xA.html in this scene you can clearly see the bear mauling the pug.
The best part of this movie is the movie. Classic feel good childhood memories. I was a disabled young child in grade school and was picked on alot. Always came home depressed, but i had this on vhs and when i put it on, it would just brighten up my day. I will never forget the joy this movie brought me as a child. The adventure. RIP Dudley Moore.
It is the funniest part of movie I'm so sorry to hear that you were bullied! I'm sure you are a wonderful person! Just know there are always people that will love you and like you for who you are! Anyway I hope things are going well for you now!
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and still is!! Even though the part where Milo goes down the river in the box made me cry, I still love this movie!
This scene was hilarious. My dad and I also get a kick out of the "Hey! He's my friend! Otis said. He still deserved it" part with Otis and the frog. LOL :D
When I was a child, my family found an orange cat on the road who had fallen from a truck. Except for a concussion, it was perfectly fine. We named him Milo after this film and he was the most beautiful cat we ever had.
@@MarthKoopa I wasn't aware animals were abused. I legitimately just watched it because it was a movie from my childhood, I'm clearly against animal abuse. I just didn't know.
OMG! I used to watch this old "tape" during the summer of 2003; I was just turning 13 then. I just turn 28 three days ago. WOW! But I just thought about the funny frog voice over 0:43 and so I searched for Milo and Otis. I am so happy you uploaded this. Thank you.
Too bad movies these days are either about teenage angst (ugh) or the Decade of B-grade movies. The early 90s were a far better and enjoyable time to grow up in.
Noral Rouse Hey, I still occasionally watch 'Elly and Jools", "The Girl From Tomorrow" (both series), Spellbinder (but not the 2nd season, since it was utter nonsense) and Ocean Girl, Mirror Mirror (1st season only is the best of the 2 series) - those are the type of wonderful television shows (Aussie made i should add!) that should be brought back on television, introduce a new fan base for the little children to watch and realise just how much they are missing on in family entertainment ... and the best thing is, none of that stupid canned laughter whenever someone tells a stupid joke.
QuirriX They didn't kill their cats in this film either. Why don't you look Dr. Hata up! There's no way a person like him would purposely allow animals to die.
That's the beauty with most movies from our pre teen era. Enough nuance for the adults and enough light hearted fun and dangers for the kids. Just good family fun
Omg me and my cousin used to watch this every weekend she came over, we loved this movie so much when we were small! Watching this makes me feel nostalgic 😭
Next line... "The trouble with guarding an egg is you have to ALWAYS be on guard." A hedgehog sniffs out the egg Milo and Otis are supposed to be watching. "And, outside...Milo and Otis suddenly remembered." They race back inside and keep the hedgehog at bay.
"RRRR! Touch that egg and you're dead meat!" The hedgehog continues to sniff near the egg, which infuriates Otis more. "I mean it, *PUNK*!" Otis growled. "Just try something! Make my doggy day!"
Wrong. Those allegations had been investigated and they’re false. Please don’t ruin a childhood favorite movie for the rest of us with those rumors. I’m sure I’m some films, some animals may have suffered injuries, but what can we do about that now? Can we not enjoy the story without thinking about that stuff people drummed up?
@@miraculousninja1739 wtf do you mean "they're false" when there's literally scenes of animal abuse. The crab pinching a kitten or a bear mauling a fucking pug. Just the scenarios they're put in are cruel and should not have happened nor should be admired as art.
Mannitherucus no they didn't, not to any extent they wouldn't experience naturally, that cat literally chose to sniff the crab. Even if they set up the scene they didn't force the cat to get pinched.
I keep coming back to this video for a good laugh--I can't get enough of that frog and Milo Benny Hill-slapping that bird around. 57 years old and I still laugh like I'm 10 when I see this.
The cats dying was only speculation from an animal rights group that caught on. There is no solid proof. Its a great movie. At worst some animals were put into questionably stressful situations.
Dakota Jackson that scene was actually done in studio, the cat was dropped in water. It's stressful but all animals experience fucking stress. It's not outside the limits of nature for a cat to fall in water
Legit Wayz that's never been proven in court or even with evidence in a country without animal rights laws. It's just a rumor PETA started because they're pricks
0:38 The scene with the bird, reminds me how I literally would ask my crazy Karen neigh along with some road rage idiot🤣🤦♂️🤣🤦♂️🤣🤦♂️ 0:59 Honestly as a kid I was literally surprised to see that’s a land crab. I didn’t even know too much about land crabs at all. I assume they all just lived in the ocean but nope there are different kinds of species of crab, some salt water some our land crabs others are freshwater crabs. Never even knew that or understood it when I was a kid really young watching this movie for the first time. Of course, out of the cats Curiosity any animal would’ve done the same thing. we did have a pug named Tigger. That’s what we named him. He used to love eating crab up in Alaska.
It’s just a rumor. There’s no actual proof that animals were abused or killed for this film. And if it did happen, I don’t think they’d let this movie be released to the public.
All these people in the comments making claims about how 40+ animals were killed in the making of this, but so far I've seen no evidence besides what an Australian animal rights group claimed. From what I've researched into the claim I've yet to come across anything substantial.
The cat should have been John Lennon. The bird should have been Yoko Ono. "Hey! Can you cut that out?!!" "SQUAWK, SQUAWK!!" "Your singing stinks!" Then there's the Otis-Otis frog. I was watching a YT camping channel and the guy filmed a frog sitting in his tent. All I could say to my computer screen was, "OTIS OTIS OTIS!" I guess I'm easily amused>
Always loved this Movie! Though, still dont like that they basically abused the Kitties when Milo is supposed to leap off the cliff during the Bird attack. 🥺
Here in San Diego, there's an elevator maintenance company called Otis. They have utility trucks and vans in the city. Whenever my wife and I see one of those vehicles, we yell, "OTIS, OTIS, OTIS!!" Bystanders think we're nuts.
I remember when I got a milo and Otis dvd and had no idea what was milo and Otis ( im a gen z ok) but after seeing the film it was like a sense of comfort.
