The Eco is 45lb/2500sqft The Milo is the right side and I noticed it from the introduction. It’s darker green. The Milo at $9/ bag was a fair price and the closer you get to Milwaukee, Wi the cheaper the price for the Milo. Note: dedicated usage of these products can add lots of phosphate to your soil and it might be a good idea to skip application Year to Year or get soil samples. The one benefit I do love about Milo, rabbits hate it, it stinks. The times I apply Milo I don’t get rabbit nests in my lawn. I actually throw it down as a repellent for rabbits and cats.
Hey Js! It was so difficult for us to tell! With the naked eye you couldn’t see it. I was hoping for a distinct difference between the two but oh well. Milo used to be $10 a bag by me and it was great and you’re right. Milo can mess with phosphorus numbers. Now that I think of it I have seen any rabbits on my yard since I started using it from time to time. Interesting! Thanks for sharing my friend! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
@@GarageGear I’ve tried a few different like-Milo and never saw the results I had with real Milo. One important thing I hear a lot, many people don’t measure their yards and fall short of throwing down a proper amount. Another thing, I also notice Positive results from throwing it into the flower beds. So I also make sure when I do throw it down that it gets everywhere👍🏻👍🏻 Keep up the great information!
@@js12278 I totally agree with you bud! People either throw down way too much or not enough because they don’t know the exact size of their lawn. I also do the flower trick too! Lol! Every spring I buy one bag of milo or in this case eco this year and throw a handful at the base of each plant. All the plants come up brighter and bigger! Will do my friend! 👍 Keep on ROCKIN!
Wow! I know this is old but I started using Milo this yeah and so far so good. Now that you mention it i haven't seen any rabbits on my lawn since. This is huge because they kept eating my new grass.
Thanks for the links, I hate bent grass. Neighbors consistently have trash yard so have to dig out religiously their encroachment of bent grass. Drives me nuts. Your backyard set up is pretty slick. Glad to see you have pride and enjoy your space 🙏
Hey Shane! So do I my friend! It’s all over my neighborhood! Drive me crazy too! My wife and I are teachers and we wanted an oasis to relax at during the summer months when we’re off from work! We enjoy it! Thanks for being a cool fan Shane!
Awesome John! I’ve heard of their chicken feed being used for fert before. Never tried it because I don’t have a tractor supply too close by. I’ll look into these! Thanks for sharing! 👍
@@GarageGear There’s lots of different types of chicken feed on the market. You want to make sure you get the correct one. I bought a few bags last fall from Tractor Supply and plan to use them this year, if my grass ever starts growing again. 🤪
Nice video JB!....Although I've never used either product, I was thinking of trying miloganite on my yard sometime this year. However, thought I would do a soil test first before putting down anything further on my lawn.
Thanks Robert! Good idea to get a soil test! That usually tells you a lot of good info about your yard. Depending on your numbers you may even want to try the eco if your phosphorus numbers are high! Thanks for watching another my friend!👍
Great video. Off topic. Any issues with your timemaster stopping after approximately 30 min of run time? Change spark plug, air filter, fuel filter. I clean the bowl of the carburetor That helped however still having the same issue.
Thanks Ed! Never had this issue with my timemaster but I have seen this on a 21” toro and my friends Honda. Did the same things and narrowed it down to a magneto going bad. Some, when they overheat they quit working and won’t restart. Sometimes restarting when they cool off. Replacing them is the only fix for them. I’m guessing that’s your issue but I wouldn’t rule out a thorough carb clean to clear the jets. Hope this helps you out my friend! Let me know how it works out.
Hello I started watching your videos to help mw with my diseased lawn I have centipede grass. What would you recommend as a fertilizer and a good lawn maintenance
Hey against all odds! Here is a link to a lawn care regimen for your grass type. hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/centipedegrass-maintenance-calendar/ I would also recommend milorganite fertilizer starting out. It’s a good fert to get some practice with and won’t harm the lawn! !
This is my second year that I'm actually investing time and money into my lawn and so far I've had some ok results but nothing impressive yet. But this might be a game changer for me I'm going to try the fertilizer that you talked about on this video to brighten up the green in my lawn and also thicken the grass up a little bit. Do you have any tips on what you can do about pet urine spots in the yard that is what is crushing me the most about keeping a nice lawn ? Thanks for another great video JB. Have a great week
Hey Bud, couple things to try. First, get whole the lawn strong and healthy. Two, designate one area of the lawn for them to do their business in. Three, if you can, try to neutralize the area they pee in with water right after or shortly after they go. This will help dilute the urine. Lastly, if you can mix up some humic acid with some kind of root growth stimulator, and pour that on the spots multiple times right after or shortly after they go throughout the week that can help the lawn stay green and not get burned by them. Hope this helps my friend! 👍
Hey JB thank you for giving me some tips on how to take care of the unwanted urine spots from my fir friend. I will try the things you mentioned and see how it goes from there. I hope you have a good day and an even better week my friend. 💪💪👍👍😎
Nice comparison JB! I couldn’t see any difference in the video. Are either one organic? I have used Milo around some shrubs in my landscaping. Cheers brother!
Hey Jay both are as organic as can be with out being straight poop lol! I’ve used Milo a lot in the past but I really like the eco because it get the same job done with slightly lower numbers. I know I have high phosphorus soil. Thanks as always my friend!
It was definitely a cool comparison. Took forever to green up with our cold temps all these weeks. Definitely can save some money with the eco! Have an awesome weekend my friend!
Hey Bigguess87 that’s all I have in my local area at this time. There is another milo knock off available but it’s nearly double the price which makes no sense. I would like to try out some others if I get the opportunity. Thanks for watching!
Eco is made from poop, human poop, so it is the ultimate in recycled product. Sometimes Home Depot has it on sale for $7 bag which makes it a no brainer.
Hey Mark, both bags state they cover 2500 square feet. If you use the same hopper opening as for the Milo you’ll have a lot left over in the hopper when your done with the eco. To accomplish the same results as the Milo, eco requires more pounds on the ground. Over the course of your passes you’ll need a slightly wider opening to get the extra pounds out. Thanks for watching
Dude, really?? Who in the heck is going to literally measure a blade of grass with a tape measure, to compare if there's any difference in the length between the two brands. Who does that? It's silly! You do realize that each and every blade of grass on a lawn is not the same the length, even before or after it's been mowed. A person doesn't need a tape measure to figure that out. It's just common sense! Grass just doesn't have that kind of precision because its from seeds that's germinated from the soil on the ground. Don't expect for each and every blade of grass to be the same, exact length because it's not logical. This Ecoscraps is obviously the generic of Milogranite, just like every other product on the market that has a generic brand.
