I love your travels 💖 I cannot believe you’re in Milos it’s one of my favourite Greek Islands. We have been there twice and dream of going back again. We have done two day sailing trips to pirates cove Klefiko. It is a must on your next trip. Safe sailing and kept up the great memories.
Such a great place we loved it too! I think you’ll like the island we go to in the next video, it’s not on the tourist radar but now probably one of our favourites.
So who feels like t-bone steak for dinner? 😳 We'd love to hear your thoughts on this one... shoot us your questions, leave us your comments or simply say 'hi'! We'd love to hear from you!! Also... I'm REALLY looking forward to showing you Folegandros next week (a hidden gem I'd heard NOTHING ABOUT) ... WOW. The cliffs are JAW DROPPING. And as always, a huge thank you again to our beautiful Patreons who generously support our production. Ps. John and I will be replying to all of your comments below, so shoot us some love! x K
Finally got the chance to jump on here, yes thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 Just madly working on our next episode to go out this weekend! 🙂 Yeww!
Hi John and k r i s t i n a, like your adventures and nice cruiser. Greece is a nice place to visit on land or sea. We're all with you there in spirit. Catch you down the waterways and thanks.
Don't you just love the Greek islands! We have a charter booked out of Athens 23 Jul and will be heading SW across to Methana, Poros, Hydra for the week. Maybe we'll bump into you. That's a metaphor, relax😂. Great vid - Milos looks amazing.
Bahahahaha!!!!! Good one 🤣🤣 Wow, that sounds absolutely AMAZING! Have you chartered a boat in Europe before? I’m so excited for you and your upcoming trip! 😍
@@KristinasTravels We've sailed around Corfu/Paxos, Croatia and Athens a few times. I only got my skippers licence in 2017 so am still a bit of a newbie, but pose no danger to anyone else. Honestly.
You were really smart being there pre high season- in July and August its an absolute fight to get a spot either on anchor or in a marina.. lovely spot and given 90% of boats are charters, the ‘harbour cinema’ is always worth being ready with a drink or extra pair of hands :) Lovely video! Thanks.
Lovely video! Looks like you had so much fun in Greece! Well done getting the editing done so quickly! :-) ! Great shots! Impressed with the gopro360 shot of the jump!
Hahaha.. Tom.. I don't think you realise what it took to get the editing done in time!!! It makes me smile to read your comment because you clearly get it! 🥰 I'm just in the process of starting this weekends episode, wish me luck! 😛
@@KristinasTravels So having said that about editing. Just how much time do you spend on this valuable task. Do you set yourself a time limit at night or just carry on till you finish. Also is it every day you edit a bit at a time or just run through the footage on a certain day. Its SO time consuming.
Watching your Video reminds me a wonderful voyage back in 2007. As you have mentionned in the beginning of your video that you have noticed many different languages but no Aussie accent: There is a local from downunder: Rod Feldtmann, who is founder and owner of seakayak Milos. We have made with him a wonderful guided seakayak tour along the coast to an old mine.
Hi guys, love the story telling and narration on top of the awesome scenery. And I’ve mentioned before how good John’s drone shots are! Lastly, love the Strikers insert (nice Adelaide touch, just not sure how you are going to get another Adelaide reference in to future vids!)
If John wasn't good at those drone shots I think we'd have some serious concerns!!!! LOL!! 😜👨✈️ Re: Strikers, yes, I'm not sure how I'm going to get another of those Adelaide references in hahaha.. could be a while! 😅 Perhaps we'll sneak in a Farmers Union iced coffee at some stage!!
Thanks for watching mate! Appreciate your kind words and support, the editing takes me hours upon hours, so this makes me smile knowing you enjoyed it! :)
It definitely sounds like the reality of sailing your dream destination is having a profound effect.. Maybe a big sail from the southern hemisphere to the Mediterranean is on the cards in your future
DITTO, Douglas Brown. Some great filming. Bummer on the mooring issue almost being a.............. Y I u guys handled it well and professionally. See you next week. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝 👙 🌞 ✨
That skipper REALLY wanted that mooring ball lol... what a meat head! A normal person would simply anchor nearby somewhere, possibly swing by later in his tender and talk about the mooring... - cool place to visit, i was gobsmacked when you said the marina was only $8/night.
I know.. we were so surprised at how affordable all the marinas were in Greece too! The most we paid was $12/night! In Australia, we would pay $60 - $130 a night!! Nuts!
Okay. After our discussion on perfection within the human condition and the difference between nirvana and knots, we're subscribed. That means 4 grown women and me LOL! As for mooring, mooring buoys and different in country cultural practice "finder's keepers" would apply here; given it's the desired location of a day charter service, fair enough that they chose to engage their usual spot. However, it ought to be designated and identified by name and or registrated number. That you were visually aware of the potential disaster or downright careless indifference means they could see you and in those wonderfully clear, still, well lit conditions, known who you were. Then again, how far had you travelled before you spotted trouble, as in did you begin recording as it went down or after you'd swung around??? They may have wrongfully assumed you were shuttling people to shore and would've returned hence. You did pose the question in your thumbnail. We think they acted impulsively and rudely and could well have caused collision and damage AND they could've hailed or signalled you to establish their intent or you're wrong doing way before things could've escalated beyond nearly being 'T-boned'. There are written and many more unwritten customs of seafaring that have evolved to be mutually supportive between seafarers, encouraging safety first and goodwill with polite & well intended execution to everyone's satisfaction. What a reckless incident on their part, whoever had dibs or exclusive rights to that mooring situation. Big love from Lottie, Desiree, Gina and us here in Tuckombil via Alstonville and East Ballina. MATE 😉🤙
Heyya! Awww, chucks! Thank you! And, I get all my non-copyright music from Epidemic Sound! Here's a link if you'd like a referral code: www.epidemicsound.com/referral/iqv8e9 😃
Loving this series🙂 do you follow lost leblanc on RU-vid ? He just did a milos episode and I was looking for out for your boat in his latest episode but couldn’t see it 😂
Hey D Han! In terms of finishes and quality, I feel they are pretty similar actually! I elaborated on this a little more in the comments of my previous video last week, so I'll add it here for you... "we REALLY loved the layout of the Beneteau.. it felt like a home with the saloon/lounge and galley/kitchen area with the island in the middle!! And the heads were VERY spacious! Our 50DS is a 2008 model, while this was a 2018! So.. everything was new and shiny and modern!" But.. I might get John to weigh in on this question as well.. I'll get him to reply also 😊 Thanks for watching!
@@KristinasTravels thank you so much for your feedback, I guess it makes sense that the newer Beaneteau would feel a bit more modern, absolutely love your 50 DS. Its one of my top 10 as far as boats Id like to retire with, which is only 8 short. Years from now. Want to and will retire young so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor. Thank you again. Doug
Hey Philippe, chris just got back from a trip out the the reef, he said he has no idea about the design as there were no plans with the boat but apparently it was built by the late Ken Nicolson. 👍🏻
I've been boating for about 40 years. Idiots anchoring too close seems to be standard procedure these days. The lack of spatial awareness of the common boater astounds me. They can be so ignorant, it's as if they forget there's this thing called wind that blows boats around their anchor. Pisses me off. I'm no longer polite when I see this. First words out of my mouth, "You have no business anchoring that close to us! We've been here for hours. If you hit my boat, the responsibility is yours." They usually move immediately.
MED, short for Motoring Every Day. I bet you're glad you got the extra insurance on that boat, I'd of had a meltdown if that was me, watching another boat just about hit mine.
You Australian guys need to relax and chill. We Greeks are very experienced in boats. He hardly touched you. There is no need to be rude, indeed. And the Greeks are happy to teach you how to Sail a Boat.
It's probably no coincidence that the word _Pirate_ is Greek, these seas were full of pirates, probably more pirates compared to those in the Caribean, many of them being Greeks.
I'm sure this is exactly what she's after. It's all about sexualizing the videos to draw in the most views. Looks like its working, seeing as the last 10 or so thumbnails as well as the channel picture are all her in skimpy bikinis. Shame people can't just rely on good production value and storytelling these days.
Hi D, I feel confident in my own skin… and as Maria Thattil once said… “ invalidating women because of what they wear is TIRED... Empathy doesn't have a dress code. Intelligence doesn't have a dress code. Credibility doesn't have a dress code. And if you can't hear what a woman is saying because you can't see past her clothes, that's less to do with her outfit and everything to do with one’s inability to transcend limiting beliefs about how women should present.” Amen!
Thanks sailor king, I use Epidemic Sound, which is a non-copy right music library I have to pay a monthly subscription for and there are limited Greek songs on the library. If I use any music, my videos get flagged with a copyright claim, does that make sense? 🙂
