@@chickenman9184 Kinda lessens the impact of a sniper tbh. It should be that the enemy figures out where the sniper is roughly and flank like you normally would. Or just have people that are dedicated Marksmen/Snipers on your end that are allowed to have higher fps to encourage group dynamics and counter sniping. The minimum engagement rule has caused me to lose a squad wipe because there were just too many to call out before they called me. In reality I should have had the drop and easily wiped. I'm just for more dynamic and more possibilities for engagements other than being only 20ft+ at minimum on most fields due to cover.
@@fiawms Honestly there wouldn't be a need for MEDs if everyone just aimed center mass or close to that lol, like a 400 fps (.20) gun won't do much if you have clothes covering your skin.
@@zapptastic8781 Oh, believe me, snipers still have their role. When normal rifles play hard, it means snipers get to go even harder. You will most definitely outrange normal rifles. As for hiding and doing ghillie stuff, theirs not a lot of spots for "concealment" on this field as its very open and not too many heavily shrubbed areas, but theirs plenty of cover for engagements to occur. It's just not likely you'll "get the drop" as it's a lot of rolling hills, you inevitability skylining will be seen quite a ways away before contact's properly made. So, while you won't be able to ambush people at range, people are definitely still spooked by you. Also, ambushes like the one that kid did aren't common like at all, per the reasons stated above
Yeah bang bang/minimum engagement rules annoy me in airsoft. Like obviously don't shoot someone with a 500 fps sniper 6 feet away, but aside from that people should just fight it out. It would eliminate so many pointless arguments and awkward moments. Like had there been no minimum engagement rule, that kid might have gotten all of you guys since he had a nice place to peek from while you were in the open. It could have been an epic moment in his young airsoft career, instead he doesn't know what to do with the nerves and gets awkwardly yelled at.
In paintball there's a fairly common rule called the barrel tap where if you can touch someone with your muzzle they're out. It essentially counts as a melee kill. Definitely better for instances where you come up behind someone.
@@Isaac_L.. yea my field doesn’t have minimum engagement for guns running 400fps or less I’ve only muzzle tapped someone once, they turned around and I asked them if they’d like me to shoot them, they said hit and walked away I’ve also lit someone up from two feet away there too
I usually enjoy Jet, but that was super weird. He just finished saying how its no point arguing, but then tries to "educate" these kids on how to properly ambush someone, even though they were bound by the minimum engagement distance rule.
@@dierdred_the_gray I’ll have to rewatch the video but o was pretty sure jet himself mentioned that the the rule was in place for that milsim event, which would make sense since there was young kids there.
i really hope Jet understands how much his content has inspired millions of people to get into airsoft. i know personally Jet was my idol for getting into wanting to do airsoft and i’ve been watching his content for around 5 years now. All love to you Jet and hope everyone has a good christmas.
Yea man, i've watched his videos long before i started playing. Safe to say, he is a big influence in how i developed my playstyle and attitude. when i got to meet him in 2019, he is the same dude on and off camera, so its not just a face he puts up
Really love that you said you're not going to argue with the kid but you kinda did, regardless of the situation. Best thing to do is to tell the person to "calm down, it's the name of the game just be noble if someone seems absolutely convinced they hit you." instead of triggering someone by saying "Do you really think he cares about your feelings?" like shit man, the guy could be having a bad time in his personal life and there are those TROLLS on the field that just yell that they hit you when they didn't...I see them ALL the time through RU-vid and the fields I play on...
It definitely wasn't the best approach. OP just seems to patronize him. Best approach imo is to just let them do what they're going to do. He also should've just died when the dude ambushed them. Who wants to get coached by the guy you just killed, whether the kill would've been likely.
@@YeOleNerd Yeah he was basically trying to tell him he wasn't initially hit and Jet was just shutting him down and goading him. Then the Ambush... I mean they're all walking with their guns down not expecting a fight so yeah I'd say he probably would have killed all of them before they reacted...
I never understood how fun roleplaying is until my first game of DND. Sometimes you just disconnect and things like DND and airsoft and VR games just make life so much more fun
That "awkward" ambush wasn't awkward at all, he got you guys fair and square per the rules. I bet if it was an adult in a bunch of useless expensive gear you might've reacted differently. You got outplayed my man, should have owned up. I stopped playing because of stuff like that, it seemed like every time I tagged someone there always some sort of whining, complaining, and arguing because it didn't live up to their military fantasy. So many big egos in a literal children's game.
Having played airsoft for a year now I find it rather funny to see how often people go "oh I definetly hit him, he's cheating." when they just have bad aim. Like yeah, sometimes it's strange you're not hitting a shot, but remember we are playing with very light and slow plastic projectiles, that don't have a lot of range. I once saw a squad of guys leave the game because "the enemy team was full of cheaters" I was there during the situation they were refering to, and I have later been on the recieving end of the exact same situation. Hitting a shot at that range requires nothing short of a miracle. Save yourself the frustration, consider the idea that maybe you just didn't hit if you're the shooter, and if someone does get frustrated with you when you're on the recieving end of the BB's don't take it personally.
some of the most fun ive had playing airsoft was when myself and a small group of people managed to sneak around the entire field and take pictures of the game throughout the day without being seen. switching from a playstyle all about taking objectives and getting kills to the complete opposite was a super nice change up.
You guys got caught with your pants down by that kid lmao shoulda all just called your hits lmfao especially with a MED, he DEFINITELY got you guys not a single rifle was up but his and im sure if you all had proper face pro and no bs MED he wouldve clapped ur cheeks 😂 called a hit from a misfired taggin but couldnt give that airsoft god his props lmao
@@danmclean7375 Right!?? And then what made it worse, (other than their bruised egos) is that they tried to tell him he was only one person and then his buddy was waiting right there to pop up for stragglers!! 💀💀💀💀 like jet literally explains what the second kid was there to do to clean up lol
@@herculeshuerta9361 Jet is a giant baby. It was clear when he was bitching at the guy who was being yelled at for no reason simply for standing up for himself.
Kid caught you all off guard so I would've let him take the kill and not to mention he could've said bang bang several times before getting out of the minimum engagement distance
You basically told temper tantrum guy to shut up when he had a legitimate point in where two players need to discuss/argue their side on whether or not it was a hit. He wasn't being aggressive with his comment about not taking crap about some guy who thinks he landed some hits. Why did you feel the need to step in and put yourself on a moral high horse? It was odd
I feel like Jett was the only one throwing a temper tantrum, other dude was just backing him self up, after dude said a smart remark and jett being salty after being killed goes off in a rant.
Actually he got hit from his left side that's what he was calling out you can hear the gun of the dude that actually hit him it wasnt the guy in the trees yelling which is the real asshole
12:02 "Dying valiantly..." foreshadowing lone P90 guy to be the only casualty of that engagement for Jet's team, ha ha. The three-man rush on the enemy flank from Turkey Hill got spotted prematurely, and I was the only casualty. Guess that let y'all get away.
I can’t stand minimum engagement distance. I’ve done tournament paintball for a while and let me tell you, there’s no such thing as bang bang. If they’re in front of you right there you take care of them quickly and move on, not wasting time or paintballs.
What gun u get? For Christmas I asked for lancer tactical Gen 3, black with red accents. Im 13 yrs old and when it’s not football season this would be my new hobby, Airsoft!
I am also 13 and run the ssx303 and a Tokyo Marui hi capa 5.1 that I have upgraded and etched on myself same with the ssx. I really love this DMR setup and would recommend it to everyone
Man you should have just played it as he got the squad wipe. Like if hes 6 feet away with the muzzle pointed at you, he doesnt have to pull it for you to know your dead, your just sore losers
Couldn’t agree more with UKRA’s comment! Jet, Leah text al are always doing great Airsoft content for real players! Love you guys! Especially love the milsim stuff, straight outta the box, info and advice!!
That dude wasn't in the wrong for yelling back. You're in the wrong for escalating the situation. Should've just told him whatever, but you wanted to push it for some content.
I was here was super fun, 1st day though directions were very lacked. No info about the money or gas objectives or anything of that nature. Our squad had 1 medic no sniper and then the medic left our group randomly with our squad leader. So me and my 2 friends went on our own missions. Pretty lame not knowing what to do and having no direction after paying that much and spending time to get there. Hopefully you can fix these next time.
I threw that grenade right at ya jet, I knew it hit and now I see why you didn't call it.... cut the camera right before it exploded hahaha. Still had a good time.
I play with Joplin Wasteland. It's a Post apocalypse airsoft Larp event. We play at D-Day adventure park in Oklahoma. I can't wait for April when our next event is.
@@zapptastic8781 they still have that event there last I heard. I go to the post apocalypse airsoft Larp event there with Joplin Wasteland. It's a lot of fun.
@@Floki1313 Yeah, I think if I get back into this type of sport I gotta swap to Airsoft. Paintball is too expensive lol sadly good paint is needed unless you're right next to who you're shooting due to poor performance.
The way I usually keep airsoft exciting for me is more the fact that I can’t go very often, and when I do it gives me a chance to run new gear and try different play styles, one life I run full sprint to everything like a delta op, then the next I walk through everything with my gun up, keeps things fun
i keep airsoft fun with realism i work for a small milsim company as cof (title given as a joke) and i make new buildings all the time, the goal is 30 buildings and currently we have 18. The second way we keep it fun as a squad is having realistic medics like different outcomes of hits depending on a card system and the gear youre wearing for example if youre hit in the head if you have a ballistic helmet you get a fentanyl lollipop ofc without the fentanyl and if you have no helmet you just die.
That guy got full in his feels about it, but he's right and Jet is wrong. It is absolutely worse that the other guy was calling an opponent hit that he didn't hit. That's seen as the bigger mistake for most.
