I don't know for sure. But adding another 'Lady' does present a more balanced cast between the Pink Ladies and The Burger Palace Boys. Note that this production was based on the original musical play, not the revival, 'movie version' where the boy gang was renamed the T-Birds. Better songs in the original musical in my opinion.
