The milwaukee has that play to dampen vibration and safeguard the batteries. The Dewalt has a similar feature on the handle. I had no idea either until I saw some more reviews and even looked at some of my current milwaukee tools and they have similar features.

I went ahead and purchased the SPTA v2 a few months ago for myself and have really enjoyed it. I don’t ever use it for heavy correction but for enhancements and quick 1 steps it’s hard to beat. I immediately took it apart and packed it with quality grease and the machine is even smoother than originally. The battery life isn’t the best but I have a few makitas and a few knock offs so I never have any issues running out. Love your videos

The batteries on milwaukee tools are designed to move, more so on the impact tools as to not break the batteries under heavy use. I thought the same thing until I did some research after buying my Milwaukee 1" d handle impact.

Just picked up the 15mm M18 myself and with it, some of the 3.0ah HO batteries which I heard pairs the best with this tool. Those feel much lighter and better balanced in the hand than the 6.0ah HO. I can’t imagine using the 12ah, I think that’s way too much battery for this tool.

I purchased the SPTA V2 due to its compatibility with Makita batteries, the platform of the bulk of my power tools. I was set to buy the Makita cordless, but was not impressed with its specs or weight. As an advanced enthusiast I was also not going to buy a cordless polisher with proprietary batteries....I don't use a polisher nearly frequently enough to keep the batteries properly charged and I was not going to babysit another set of batteries to ensure they didn't self-discharge too far. When I received the SPATA I did two things. First, I replaced the grease with Redline synthetic grease...it runs smoother and cooler. Second, I sold the new SPTA batteries, chargers and pads and got half my money back. I just finished polishing and coating my cars, a biannual ritual. The CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 had held up well and only a very light polishing was required. A 6.0 amp Makita battery was more than adequate for the first vehicle, I used two 2.0 amp batteries for the second. That made the SPTA even lighter. The SPTA performed flawlessly and appears to be the ideal solution for someone in my situation (assuming you're already using the Makita platform.)

The owner of the shop where I'm working part time just picked up the Miluakee for us last week. It's really badass! He's well leveraged in Milwaukee cordless tools, and they've been holding up well. I'm looking forward to really put it through it's paces the next time we have a serious paint correction come in. The batteries are the reason I've not ventured into cordless (aside from the Rupes Nano). We also got some Ryobi pads. Stay away from them. The backings will not stick to the foam.

Thanks for the comparison Scott. Curious that the 4ah on the SPTA was only 10 minutes short of the 6ah for the Milwaukee. It would be interesting to test the SPTA with a Makita branded battery as I would expect that the run time would improve. I agree that SPTA includes a lot of junk that is unnecessary. Cheers!

Thanks for the video content. I recently ordered Flex XFE 15 150 18.0 and Flex PXE 80 10.8 on which I would like to build up my skillset and later offer my detailing services in Switzerland. Heard Flex can be a little under powered. However, once my skills develop while cars paint quality varies. Would you suggest in order to add value to my tool collecting to order 21 Milwaukee as being the better choice or still 15 Milaukee despite I already have Flex 15. The point I would like to make is to avoid buying two same tools without adding value.

I purchased the Milwaukee Rotary cordless (no idea on the model). The battery is oriented the other way (aligned with the head of the polisher) and it gets in the way as you polish. Terrible design. Also, the way the handle is build, it's at an angle and you cannot get the polisher to stand up on the battery, an other terrible design. The tool came with the standard charger and a 2 amps battery. I decided to purchase a second 2 amp battery so I could rotate them. I was expecting the tool to run for longer than a DA because rotaries require less power, but you can only run the tool for a few minutes with the 2 amp battery... did not time it but it felt like 10 mins. It takes well over an hour to charge the 2 amp battery so my config is completelly useless for anything other than doing spot scratch repairs. I am not sure I like rotaries yet. Yvan Lacroix convinced me to give it a try but I have a lot of difficulty keeping the tool under control, it's always fighting me so until I can learn the muscle memory to be able to get it to run without walking all the time, I still prefer all my DAs by far. Should have went with a corless DA, not a rotary...

Isn't it interesting... 20 years ago we had only the old big polishers of a weight of 3.5kg... And everyone claimed they were to heavy... Than new polisher came up smaller but less power and much louder noise... Than the "New Deal" was Battery.. Lasting not an hours... 20 years later we now polish with polishers of less power of motors and stress wuth battery loading.. more noise, and with battery together the whole thing is far more heavy as old machines 20 years before... Is that our future ? The Evolution of polishers... ...all made in same factorys in China.. Thx 🌻❤

@ScottHD Год назад
Great points. The battery technology just isn't 100% there - yet. If you had the smoothness and build quality of the Flex, with the battery runtime and power of the Milwaukee, with the weight of the SPTA, you'd have a winner.

@@ScottHD Hello Scott. Thanjs for the reply. Batteries lasting 45min isn't futuristic I think. As they weight was a step back, not talking bout the noise... As I do know the companys as technology, that was a change in technology to Toy's 'R us 😂. I know what you mean but more longer power means more heavy battery on the end of machine and so conterweight to your work on other side. So nothing will happen as bigger battery or maybe fusion rods to put in machines in future when polishers have own reactors built in🌻 😂 Thx
