If you’re paid hourly doesn’t matter how long it takes…..the phrase “time is money” works for everyone no matter your ranking in the trade. The upper management might make more if the job is done quicker but the person doing the physical work(assuming you’re paid hourly) makes more money with more time…….but anyways that’s still a awesome tool! I’m a residential hvac installer so I won’t ever have a need for that big of pipe threader.

To each their own! This definitely isn't for everyone, and definitely not at that price point, but for those that need or want it, it'll be worth the investment! Pro-Press tools have their own pros and cons, as do each of the other manufacturers; options are always nice!

@OhioPowerTool Personally I just don't see how this is much better than a 300. The batteries are crazy expensive. It might be slightly more portable but if you throw the 300 on a handtruck then its basically the same. And I'm rarely if ever on a job that doesn't have power while threading gas pipe. But It's always cool when there's competition, and for a long time the ridgid pipe threaders were the only thing available.

That's an excellent point! Competition is healthy for the industry, and while this version of Milwaukee's pipe threader is definitely pricey, it'll hopefully lead to other manufacturers creating new innovations to get that same level of power and consistency for an even lower price point in order to entice more consumers to switch to their product. It may take a while to see those results, but this can only be a good thing for the industry as a whole!

Can you plug into power as an option or only run off battery. It would be super smart to allow for direct power if needed !

That would be a great idea, and might be something Milwaukee has to implement in a potential second generation of this tool; as it is, battery power is your only option with this guy!

As a fitter you need to make pipe fast we make up fittings on the machine with an 18" how long would the battery last in real life other than a commercial ?? I'm being serious anyone hanging black pipe is making up their fittings up on the machine not going from the machine to a tripod stand to wrench every fitting!!!!😊

Incredibly! That self-contained oil reservoir keeps the oil exactly where it needs to be; just don't be suplexing it out of the truck or anything and you should be fine!!

As the owner of a fire sprinkler company. This $7000 price tag would 100% turn me off from buying it. Really nice machine though. I think they would fly off the shelves if the price was in the $4000 to $4,500 range.

A ridgid 300 with a die head and stand is 5k so 2k more for cordless. Depending on your use and kind of work might make sense. Where can you buy a full 300 setup for 2k?

@@BackyardEngineer334 well you are not going to find theses used yet. If your going to compare apples to oranges. A new ridged 300 compact "not a old beat up pos" is $7000. That aside milwaukee has other features that appears to make it better. I would be interested just so I wouldn't have to carry around a 1500 dollar generator. But to each his own. We have the cordless core drills and they are awesome.

T-Rex’s probably had a hard time running it with their tiny arms but definitely going to be a very long time before anyone can claim a longer average life span than the Ridgid Threader.
