*The 3 speed is good **MyBest.Tools** trying to keep to a low speed for a long time with just the trigger is hard. The only negative is I keep bumping the on/off switch when changing blades, not dangerous but annoying.*
I am a joiner by trade and I do use Milwaukee tools for my job so when Milwaukee brought out this tool I was interested in the long pole hedge cutter as I have a very large hedge and I hired petrol hedge cutter so just over a year ago I got the long reach hedge cutter and with the 12 amp battery l hit it hard and it doesn’t cut out and boy does it cut thick bits as well but you have to use the strap that came with it and you do feel you had a word out but you can put a smaller battery on it which the the wife uses so l give it a big thumbs up 👍 thanks for your video 👏👏
Yes, that pole hedge trimmer attachment is worthwhile & performs well, though I use the AEG version (all these tools are made by Techtronic Industries, China) on their 58V drive, although can be used on their 18V drive too but 9Ah is the maximum in AEG 18V range (got to keep the higher capacity in Milwaukee), but the 58V AEG gear is another step up though, being their "Commercial Outdoor" range with 8Ah 58V batteries.
I would like to see that pole saw head rotate a bit. I've a cheap electric pole saw, and the adjustable angled head actually helps with long reach cuts which are assisted with weight of the tool.
They used to have a really good deal on it. We got it to replace our old gas weed eater. It's so much easier to use but it uses up the battery really quickly
tillykke med sejren Claus That’s a nice system. The one thing I’d like to see is the bar on the polesaw being adjustable, 90degrees to the pole. Thus allowing you to cut from the top of the branches.
For domestic use, it looks bang on. For professional use, no way in hell would it replace my Husqvarna 535LK pro combi! That said, if I was only doing my own garden, I would probably go battery all the way, and Milwaukee make great quality tools!
The same pole hedge trimmer, pole saw & edger (from TTI that make Milwaukee) are also made for AEG to use on their 58V & 18V drive units, however the connection isn't as refined as the Milwaukee system, using the same connection as the Ryobi Expand-It system (though with a slightly more robust design). AEG (Echo 58V & Rigid 18V in the USA) are still a great product line to use, both in 18V & 58V (for commercial outdoor equipment) & so I have mostly AEG in both platforms plus Ryobi gear that isn't covered by AEG. Both are sold through Bunnings here in Australia while Milwaukee are sold through independent (& chain) tool specialists.
Keep it in mind folks that these things do weigh quite a lot. Especially this articulating hedge trimmer. Put on a 12.0 battery and you're into a good workout right there! Bought it for my dad but it's way too taxing physically for him.
Do you just use the regular XC 5.0 battery? What kind of life do you get out of it with the string trimmer? I’m thinking of buying one, but might buy the kit that has the high output 8.0. I’ve already got a few XC 5.0’s already though.
I have the Quik Lovk weedeated but no other attachments yet. But, I love it. It's the first one I've ever used and I can imagine using anything else. Love the video!
That strimmer guard is humungus. It reminds me of a samurai's tin hat. I'm sure I've seen earlier versions that boarder on the realms of sanity. Got it! that guard reminds me of the flying saucer outta the 50's science fiction film, This Island Earth. I can sleep easily now knowing this...phew!
Awesome video ! Very very impressive machine looks very well built and exceptionally powerful for an m18 tool 😱😱 Milwaukee keeping it going with expansion of their OPE line. 😎 just can’t seem to find a track saw in red 😉
@@scottpirie4958 Hey thanks for the feedback...no stihl and husky are square along with a few generic brands...Echo/Shindaiwa are spline also so who knows maybe they would work with the milwaukee.. In any case I just bought a stihl chainsaw attachment along with the carbon extension.
I have the weed trimmer, the polesaw, and the brush cutter, all work reasonably well. My only complaint is the weedtrimmer runs out of power in like 15 mins, the 8 size battery is $250.
Nice video 👍 I've been running this for over a year now. The hedge trimmer and pole saw are awesome but the strimmer is a bit of a let down - cuts out and overheats the battery/motor alot on anything that's not light duty. It's worth keeping the petrol tools in the van for heavy duty stuff and rainy weather. I use this 60% of the time to save on fuel and keep the noise down a bit. Cheers John 👍
@@druslocallawncare109 I do but only on light stuff like privet or leylandi - i wouldn't use it for reducing height or anything where its cutting thick branches too much as the quality isn't up to the likes of my 2stroke echo or shindaiwa multitools. The 12ah batteries last about 2 hours hedge trimming on slow speed and I don't even use it on high because it's burns through really fast. I usually face the front of hedges with it then use petrol tools on the tops.
@@johnloran thanks for the info im just thinking of going battery for all maintained hedges. And thinking of using the whipper snipper ( strimmer). For all my maintained lawns
@@druslocallawncare109 no worries, I wouldn't bother with the strimmer because it overheats after about 5 mins even on low speed. It's super handy to pick up for very small light stuff but it's just not up to the job for most things. I use it to strim small weeds between the cracks of paving slabs or block paving mostly 👍
Always wondered if the Milwaukee muilt tool was any good. never really been a fan of the muilt tool for pro use I have the petrol husky muilt it's a good machine but not something that comes out every day now we have the battery kit from husky would be interested to see how the Milwaukee goes up against the husky battery muilt tool
I went for the stihl option as I already had the kombi system. Think alot of professionals will do this as they can keep the petrol engine for longer run times and electric for noise sensitive areas.
Good video, what's the blade speed on the hedge cutter? I tried the trimmer unit year or two ago and found the cutting swarth was very small and the guard was catching on uneven grounds, so perhaps a design fault - or just aimed at the homeowner market?
Our bearing seized in the motor. And you’d have to break the fins to get it out. So we have to buy a whole new unit because it just came out of warranty.
Careful with pushing to hard, the connection between my battery and the unit melted shut with a 8ah HO battery when using the trimmer :-O "used it too hard". Milwaukee in Sweden wont fix it for free so not sure if i even should fix it since it seem to be a normal issue 😲
Is quik lok compatible with universal attachments? I'd ditch my kobalt stuff in a minute if I can use all my other universal attachments. Who does the clean up after you're done making a mess?
Thank you for this and all your videos! Milwaukee is my go to brand and the multi tool is no exception. Really enjoy seeing you putting the equipment through it’s paces.
