Match 31: Mima Ito vs Sun Yingsha in the Final of the Seamaster T2 Diamond 2019 Singapore event! Follow all the latest action on our website here: t2diamond.com/livestream/
As much as I'm rooting for Shasha, I feel like Chen Meng (despite her loss against Jeon Jihee) and Liu Shiwen should play singles. Shasha should be playing Mixed Doubles with Xu Xin tho. And I really hope she is the 3rd player in the team event, rather than choosing Ding Ning just because she's left-handed...
@@tabletennisbreakdown4194 Could definitely happen too. However XX/Shasha are still unbeaten, tho they only played one tournament. XX/LSW have played more tournaments together, but have already lost a match to Japan iirc...
@@Nive-wt7xu Ding Ning definitely should be out. He who chooses Ding Ning puts the whole Chinese women's team in danger. Ding Ning is history and has no confidence to win. I also don't support Chen Meng. The reason she won some internal tournaments was that she was physically strong. Sometimes she cracks the ball like a man. However, she is not smart most of the time especially when she is a couple of points behind. Sometimes she looks lost and stares at one spot without eye-moving when she is behind her opponent until the umpire warns her.
I think this game summarizes the clash of styles in a nutshell. Flat hitting balls will be less consistent than spinning the ball. The Pinnacle of flat hitters can make it to the top, but they will not be able to consistently at the top.
On the last point, Ito served an under spin serve. And Yingsha didn't stroke under it. She block pushed it and it was a question of to what extent Yingsha's rubber countered Ito's under spin. Just naturally. And that can be a difficult read sometimes.
It looks like Ito is the #1 female Japanese player. She is unique in developing a fierce BH pimple play (punching to return ultra-fast counters or block with backspin) that upsets many of her opponents. However, after coaches analyze/dissect her game, her inevitable weakness is the forehand. Firstly, very high degree of training is emphasized in her BH (winning tactics) but she is limited physically to reach/play a powerful forehand. Every player has weaknesses in certain ways. Top players can pick the opponent's weakness and home in on it quickly. That's what makes them so high above others.
To be fair, that was an educated gamble. Sun Yingsha was exerting more and more dominance in the rallies as the game progressed, and her third ball smash after the sidespin serve had fairly high accuracy in this match. Statistically it made sense.
Ito is so insincere in her apologies when she gets a point thanks to the net or edge. SOOOOOOO glad Yingsha won, even though her last receive wasn't perfect.
Ito should have won this. What a match! Against a super on form Shasha. We are witnessing the future world number 1 and 2 here. Amazing tournament. T2 has raised table tennis level by a notch
Mima-chan I know u r trying ur best but every time when u r at game point n still lose the match, it breaks my fucking heart. 💔 Same thing happened at team world cup this month.😥 Plz do something about it. Ur die-hard fan.✌️
Sun Yingsha was lucky again. What she shouldn't have done was she shouldn't have lost in games 3 and 4. She had the potential to keep her victory for games 3 and 4, but she slacked. At the final, Ito reached the match point first, but she lost it.
It would be awesome if Mima Ito can flip her racket as part of her repertoire. This would be especially when she sends the ball to the edge just over the net and her opponents have to stretch out and leave a wide open gap. A flip of racket and a lightning quick backhand flip would be devastating!
Although Ito has records of being defeated by all the Chinese top players, what's important is that she now has gained the capabilities of beating all of them. At the time of Tokyo Olympics, she has great chances to revenge as Japan hosting the game.
Hmm, Congra to SYS but i still love you Ito. No matter how many time you win or lose to Chinese players, i will still cheer for you bcos your spirit and you're my inspiration to keep playing tt.
From set 3, Ito started to serve long or no spinned and that worked extremely well. Sun's return were slow and get hammered right away. Sun still has a lot of space for improvement.
My girl! My homegirl kicking Ito's ass again! No one can deny homegirl Sun Yingsha slapped the ball so hard with such gusto you'd think she's looking to flatten the plastic ball. In any event, what an exciting match! What a sweet win! As Jackie Gleason fond of saying, "How sweet it is!"
