This song in English is: "I'm always thinking at you, only you I know this town would feel empty without you" ARE YOU SAYING THAT THIS MOVIE IS NOT A QUEER MOVIE?
Here English for you (I grew up on this song😌) An empty city The streets are overcrowded, the crowd is surrounding me It is talking to me and laughing And nothing knows about you... I see passersby around me But I know, the city will seem to me empty If you don't come back. There is that one who wants to be next to me every evening But i dont care if he gives me his kisses, I will only think about you, only you And I know the city will seem to me empty if you don't come back. How do you want to live alone without me? do you feel our love is not over yet? Come back to me my love And the city will not be empty anymore The streets are overcrowded the crowd is surrounding me it is talking to me and laughing Nothing knows about you I see passersby around me But I know the city will seem empty if you don't come back . How do you want to live alone, without me? Do you feel our love is not over yet?
@@ragazzopigro97 its a love song but you should put the lyric in the contest of friendship. In the case of Luca say: this town without you is empty. And can be a think from Alberto, from the luca parents.. That's it. No gay message.
There’s so much incredible italian music from those years…search patty pravo, Luigi tenco, dalida, ornella vanoni, Lucio Battisti, Lucio dalla, franco battiato, fred bongusto, nada, Gino paoli From the 80s: zucchero, matia bazar, raf, antonello venditti, loredana berte, giuni russo, mia Martini I know, that’s a long list 😂 but it’s worth it
Mina surpassed all American versions of this song. Everything is perfect in this song: the orchestra, the arrangement, the chorus, Mina fabulous voice. One would wish to hear it again and again and again.
love to see lots of non italians in the comments after Luca because I've loved this song ever since I was a child and it's nice to see it's being listened around the world ;;
*English Translation* The streets are full The crowd around me Talks to me and laughs And nothing is like you I see people coming and going around me But I know the city Will seem empty to me If you don't come back There's someone who every evening Wants me to be with them But I don't care If they're going to give me their kisses I always think about you, only about you And I know the city Will seem empty to me If you don't come back How can you Still live alone, without me Can't you feel That our love still isn't over? The empty streets Empty without you I read your name Everywhere around me Come back to me, love And the city won't Be empty anymore And I will live with you All of my days All of my days All of my days
She is missing an ex-lover and telling him that the city seems empty unless he returns to her - citta' vuota means "empty city". The relationship has ended but she cannot accept it. She sings "Torna da ma amor e non sara' piu' vuota la citta e io vivro con te tutti I miei giorni" which means come back to me darling and the city won't be empty any more and I will live with you for all my days (i.e for ever afterwards).
I don't speak Italian but this song still finds a way to resonate with my current mental health. It both saddens me and gives me hope at the same time. I love you, art. I love you, music. I love you, Mina.
Alberto's Song to Luca. T-T Here after watching Pixar's Luca. Pixar can't fool me i mean why chose this song at all as the end credit song? This is the English Translation of the song. :( "The streets are overcrowded, the crowd is around me, It is talking to me and laughing And nothing knows about you... I have a feeling that they really intended this to be a gay movie but as Disney being disney, they chickened out in the end. And we have another ending where the other guy decides to live with a girl rather than with the boy he first loved. Oh well.
@@siarnaqfrost4968 what i think is Pixar did intend it to be a coming of age gay animated film but yes the studios and investors/producers became a chicken bc of the backlash. They want them awards votes and we all know there are so many conservative people who would riot and cancel them if they do make it explicitly like that.
@@DaleyDale being woke is everywhere in media, why would they had stopped there? But there are some „gay” moments… I loved Luca… does anyone know what Alberto says to Luca at the end? That italian line?
@@iPlayBoyNo1 I've been thinking the same thing, From the first time Luca and Alberto met and from the part where they depart from each other but, What does that Italian line mean?
This song is just a little evidence of why Mina was and still today is ranked the greatest pop female singer EVER , I mean greatest in the whole world !
Of course she knew what she was singing! Italian singer, Italian language, huge heart. You should listen to her other songs if you liked this one. She has published more than 1000 songs and each one, incredibly, is different from the others. Mina is universally recognized as one of the best singers in the world ever, although having made choices in life far away from the world of entertainment, she's not well known abroad. People like Sinatra, Armstrong, Q.Jones, MJ, Minnelli, Dion, Streisand,->
For all the italians who are here only for Luca, shame on you 😂 dovreste saperla non solo per il film. For the others, go to check other 50's and 60's italian songs, trust me you're gonna love it.

Listen to the original in english by Gene McDaniels (Lonely Town) some differences in the lyrics of Mina's version though the storey is identical...enjoy

I became a MINA fan about 5 years ago,I was watching Barbra Streisand's Minute Waltz, and there was a suggestion to watch Mina's version,Questo Settecento,I loved it,and I then watched Se Telefonando, and now I love Mina, she's great,I like all of her music form the 60's to today.Piccolino is one of her best cds.

FLU PPA This is Mina's cover performance of Gene McDaniels' "It's a Lonely Town ". Many Italian pop stars in the 50s-60s enjoyed great success by doing American covers; some of the performances became hits in their respective countries and abroad.
E l'immagine in bianco e nero ?
¡¡¡ Viva Mina !!!
Italy and France made the best music of this kind. What is known as slows for the anglosajon people. 60s and 70s. As well as the movies. The french nouvelle vague and the italian comedy. Names to remember, a lot: Loren, Mastrogiani, Gassman, Trintignant, Manfredi, Deneuve, Sordi, Ardant, Girardot, Fellini, De Sica, etc, etc, etc. Music I Pooh, Celentano, Dalida, Dassin, Ferrer, Reggiani, Delpech, Rita Pavone, Massimo Ranieri, Aznavour, etc, etc, etc. Thanks God they existed.
La Tigre di Cremona e adesso vive vicino a me, e intorno a casa mia in Svizzera, e nulla sa di me ma so che hai una voce stupenda, e un onore per noi Svizzero Italiani averti come nostra concittadina grande Mina.
