@@KevinQ1989 The Asbury Park live version is awesome, but Ozzy's voice shits the bed half way through the song. Plus, I like how on the studio version the guitar tone gets fuzzier with each verse. Either version kills though....one of the best songs ever written.
I don't think Ozzy knew he had this voice in him, given how high he was! This is indeed the early beginnings of thrash, but almost a prog-thrash, given the style shifts throughout. Amazing track! Just showed how versatile this group was. Sabotage was such an experimental album - check out Hole In The Sky, Megalomania, The Writ...all are amazing! Great reaction!
No man Ozzy had the voice he has a whole range and being high only brings it out the better man back in the day all of us used to do peyote and mescaline acid Thai stick and opium we flew in a Stratosphere and we'd only land and go to sleep Black Sabbath knew what they were doing and they still know what they're doing they are and they will be and they always will be the father's Godfathers of heavy metal and look at their story Keep On Truckin$$$$$$$$$
Glad u finally got to this. I was trying to get this song in one of those battles. Definitely do the very next song on this album *MEGALOMANIA.* it may even be better. The album is SABOTAGE, Sabbaths 6th. The first 6 Sabbath albums are flawless.
One thousand percent agreed, Megalomania is my favorite Sabbath song of all time. This entire album criminally overlooked, even by fans of metal, not just the general population.
@@TheHill1798 I have a friend whose mother - in the mid 90's - burned all of his heavy metal CDs and T-shirts, for being "Satanic." Granted, some of the death metal actually IS Satanic. But still.
Yet another song proving these guys will always be the best metal band there has ever been and ever will be. This song is from their sixth album called Sabotage (1975).
Hole in the Sky (Ozzy range is fucking nutty) Megalomania (great blend of soft and heavy) Thrill of it all (the most feel-good vibes of any sabbath song) That whole album is straight flames.
Hands down this is my favorite Sabbath album. It really needs to be heard start to finish. I cant hear symptom of the universe without the acoustic intro "dont start too late". Megalomania is Epic and The Writ is Epic squared. Hell, i even like Am I going Insane. Bottom line... Sabotage (and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath too) should be heard all the way through... late at night... no distractions... bliss...
SOO GLAD Somebody FINALLY Reacted To This Work Of Art!! You Definitely appreciated This Track as Much As I Did and Still Do!! Been requesting other Reactioners to React to This Track But Nobody Listening. I Didn't even Request this from You YET But Here You Go and Beat Me to the Punch!! WHOOOOHOOOO!!
This phenomena of "Reaction Videos" is a curious thing. I'm 54, so that's the music of my childhood and I love it to this day. But you young people, listening to it for the first time and being just as blown away as I was, is just contagious. I'm laughing out loud and yelling at my TV screen "Yes that's right you get it!" or "Oh wait it's about to get even better." The only difference between you hearing it for the first time and my first time, is you stop to comment as you go because of the format. We used to lay the needle in the groove, spark one up, lay back and listen to every song on the record. Sometimes no one wouldn't say shit, like you were in a movie theater or church or something. Since we didn't have so much of what you have now for entertainment, we listened because that was the best entertainment going. Music was really art that was pushing the boundaries of creativity. If enough young people experience these bands and then make their own music with no boundaries, we may see art of this magnitude again someday.
The albums 'Volume 4,' 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' and 'Sabotage' (which this song is from) are their best as far as brilliant from start to finish. Those are the big 3 of album perfection.
"Robert Plant who?" You just earned your subscription! This was actually my first time hearing this as well. 59 years old and never caught this one. Gold reaction.🎵🔥🔥🔥🎶
The album is Sabotage. The best Black Sabbath album and to me the best heavy metal and hard rock album of ALL TIME!!!! This album blew me away as a 16 year old teenager when i first heard it and still blows me away at 52 years of age now.. A true masterpiece of heavy music that which all heavy music is measured by....
Love the reaction! Sabbath is my all time favorite band, not the least for their endless experimentation, their originality and the virtuosic ability of every member.
Hell yeah! Thanks for pointing these reactions out to me, T. I should have just searched the archives, d'oh! This song along with *Megalomania* are my favorite Sabbath songs (although I have lots of faves). Out of all the rock and metal I've listened to over the years, Sabbath is still my favorite band. Some of that is nostalgia but it's hard to beat the original. Cheers man, looking forward to the next stream, whenever/whatever it may be.
Hello! TNT I just saw your video. When I was 15 years old I bought my first Sabbath record, today I am 63 years old and I find myself listening to the same record in the same way as you listen, it is magical, vibrant it is a pity that music is dying out today. I subscribed to your channel, you are a true music lover. Who Robert Plant? Great! great! I Loved it ... Thankx!! Syd From Brazil.
Definetley check out the rest of the album.ozzy's vocals are in a totally different range than previous albums.i was so surprised and happy with this album when it came out..probly my favorite but its too hard to pick one really..enjoy.
The band that invented heavy metal hits us with this soulful breakdown at the end. So tasty, such a great funky groove, and Ozzy's vocals are SOULFUL, like a great R & B singer. Too much man. Hey all you metal bands out there listen up! cuz this is how it's done. Love your reaction TNT.
Meanest Sabbath song Eva, in the 90s we had a serious metal bar with a jukebox of only death metal bands and a sound system I can't describe except at a major concert. Lo and behold sabotage made it on the jukebox and I cranked symptom of the universe and it turned everyone's heads,. No one younger really knew music could be that heavy and be lyrically understandable 🤘🏽🤘🏽 When the soulful break came everyone wanted to know what they were hearing 💙
I`m not sure if you know, Toni Iommi had an accident in work before Black Sabbath and chopped the tips of 2 fingers off. He made new tips out of a plastic washing up bottle, glued some leather on them and learned to play again. What a genius!
Not Soul my Brother. Parts of this are more based on Jazz. When Toni snipped off the tips of the two middle fingers on his right hand he thought that his career as a musician was over with. However, his boss at the sheet metal plant where he was working gave Toni a record by a gentleman named Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt was completely missing two of his fingers on his left hand. He was able to continue his career as a Jazz musician/guitar player. So after listening to Reinhardt's amazing guitar work Toni realized that he too could still play. So there are parts of his music that are heavily based on Jazz because of Reinhardt's influence upon Toni's style.
Many consider this the seeds that later bloomed into Thrash. Also if you want to see an amazing female shredder check out "Rie a.k.a Suzaku/Suzaku Music Video"
My most favorite Sabbath album 🤘🏼 It's mandatory to now do Megalomania , Hole in the Sky, and then The Writ ... Also, be sure to peruse Master Of Reality album, as well as Vol. 4 !! ( PS - I requested this about a year ago ) 😂😏 Glad you have a great following, and smart fans ! Keep up the great work !
Hahahah ROBERT PLANT WHO? loved that man... Always ppl trying to put led into heavy metal creation. Heavy metal is Ozzy, tony, geezer and bill. Loved the reaction, greetings from Brazil.
Hey T...For the record, I wanted this song to be in the battle! The other Sabbath 'fans' put up the wrong jams to go against JP...I'd suggest a re-match, we both know Preist will scream all opponents right off the stage. Lol! 🤘🤣
Sabotage- Everything on this album is awesome- It's regarded by many as Black Sabbath's musical peak. Ozzy also does a great live version of this song on Speak of the Devil. Symptom of the Universe is the only single off this album, but the other choice cuts off it are Hole In The Sky, Megalomania, Thrill Of It All, and The Writ. I saw them in 1986 (The Tony Iommi and a bunch of guys tour) and they used Supertzar as their intro music...
If you have not yet done so you may want to check out SUPERNAUT from Vol 4. About 2:30 into the studio version I think you will be surprised and love the sound. Again, love your reactions. It's the same way I remember my reaction to these songs when I was a teen back in the mid 80's.
