This song is about the German Stormtroopers in WWI. Their tactics evolved into what was known as Blitzkrieg in WWII. George Lucas named the Stormtroopers in Star Wars after the original German Stormtroopers!

Might add that it also includes the lessern known Austro-Hungarian stormtroopers (Sturmtruppen).

@@assassin_rk42 Austro-Hungarians did as well, at least officially. Of course before they officialy started forming these assult groups the AH army units had formed their own specialist formations called ''Jagdkommandos''.

Pretty much every song in their new album is a masterpiece. I recommend "Lady of the Dark" , "Dreadmought" , "Hellfighters" , "Race to the Sea" , and "The Valley of Death" for more reactions to The War to End All Wars album.

Glad you're back. This whole album is outrageous. No wonder you got speachless. When I first listen, my jaw was dropping lower with every song. It's Sabaton's best album yet. Check "Race to the sea" official music video, and "Dreadnought". Great reaction, waiting for more.👍 One more, "The Unkillable Soldier" official music video, and there's a Sabaton History on that song already.👏

The Stormtroopers were a specific special force from the German army that were developed at the end of WW1. They used new tactics and even the first bullet proof west invented by Germans. The idea was Aggressiveness, Speed and Deadlines so they were the best of the best and not normal infantry. They were supposed to get around enemy trenches and clean them up. Also a cool fact that they had new tactics that still many countries use today. So they were very modern like everything what the Germans invented and did ;-) And yes they were a great inspiration for the Star wars Stormtrooper.

Whatever happens, you really should watch Sarajevo BEFORE you watch Versailles. The former is for the start of the war, and the latter is for the end, and the with the way they did the songs, you will appreciate Versailles far more after hearing Sarajevo.

4 years of German at Eastern Mich. Kaiserschlacht…Schlacht means “battle” but it also is the first part of Schlachthofen, which means “Slaughterhouse”. Fun fact: all nouns are capitalized in German, not just proper nouns. I know that impresses nobody…

And if I remember correctly, Kaiser means "Ruler" or something similar. So, would the full name translate to the "King's Slaughterhouse"? Or would it be "Slaughterhouse of the King"?

Modern day "shock troops" would be best epitomized by the U.S. Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, British Commandos, etc. The song itself is a definite BANGER! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

SEALs wouldn't even fall under the category of shock troops tbh. Shock troops are at the front of an assault and whatnot, SEALs are u h. Kinda not lol
