My Answer is every individual has to do intense meditation to see and realize that all others are really the same and therefore to inflict pain is like inflicting pain on oneself. So how does one realize that this state. By removing all destructive thoughts first. Second by pure intending to know such vastness of truth in a nutshell.

Yes, the mother's compassion in the Karaniya Metta Sutta -- one of the Buddha's most prominent discourses on world compassion: “ Mata Yata niyam puttam ayusa ekaputtamanu rakkhe, evampi sabbabhutesu manasam bhabhaye aparimanam”: As mother protects her only child with all her life, in the same way extend your limitless loving kindness towards all beings. As to the persistent corruption in Africa post-Mandela, my mother graciously told me, "It's taken you some time to get into this mess; it will take you some time to get out." Human beings were affected deeply over generations by the violence and injustices. If everyone could turn their mental and emotional attitudes on a dime, all problems would disappear over night. Even if we found a cure for cancer, it would take time to communicate, create, disperse and allow the physical change. But to begin with, one has to be convinced they have cancer and that the cure is in their best interest.
