Ok...actually we have arrived to that point. You know how many times I just thought about something and immediately I saw ads about them on IG or FB???? I swear it is happening.

"We do not want to turn the mouse into a "Clockwork Orange" case .." Immediately followed by suggestion that this will eventually be used on humans who have "mental disorders." One wonders who will get to decide what specifically constitutes a "mental disorder," and what does it mean to make someone "more normal."

I imagine most places will adopt a protection of information act, but just like what we have for our personal privacy on our electronic devices, services will be allowed to put a clause asking the user for permission. If you give them permission to have this access then they can use it how they want. And the technology will be so alluring that many will be willing to give up their rights for it.

This will be abused. Altering another's perceptions is really, really fucked up, even if the intent is to help them. If technology can give a blind person sight, but someone were to hack that and alter what they "see", that would be wrong wouldn't it? Is that any different than altering the vision of a sighted person? And this will go beyond vision. Would you trust someone else at the wheel of your perceptions to not abuse it?

Why do we need this type of Technology, surely private thoughts are Our Own! Why are other interested in anyone's private thoughts. Where does Control of freedom stop!

I am living in Utah, US. People can remotely access my mind and thinking. They are doing so without my consent. Is this the neural surveillance? I don't know how they gained access and if there are things that was implanted into my body without my knowledge. I have been stalked for a few years now. The stalkers use loud high-pitched sounds and electric waves to attack. There are some kinds of high frequency buzzing sound associated with the electric wave. My head and body can feel the constant vibration day and night. Sometimes it is really intense. I was woken up by the high-pitched sound and the electric waves most of the night now. It has injured and disabled me. It puts our life in danger. Not sure if this is the weapon that they use to access people's mind and thinking. The attack happened anywhere I went. At my home, other person's apartment, shopping mall, in a park or in a car. Where did those high pitch sound and electric waves originate from? Satellite? Cellphone Tower? I have been watched and monitored day and night. The stalkers make loud snapping sounds to my home walls and ceilings to let me know when they are reading my mind. Not sure how those snapping sound get to my home. I don't know who gave them the rights to do this without my consent. How can I protect my own thoughts and ideas? Not sure what to do or if anyone will believe me. But this is really happening.

So, Chinese Social Credit System, with literal mind-control thrown into the mix? That sounds like an excellent idea. The scientist compares this to the Human Genome Project, it reminded me more of the Manhattan Project. A whole new can of worms to contend with: “Oh, we didn’t expect them to do that with it…”

When I tell people about this they look at me like I am crazy. I just had someone laugh at me and say "AI will never be able to read minds, that is impossible".

Tech can read your minds. I've been unwillingly placed on a BCI and had to live with an ai v2king me for the last 7 years like a guinea pig. All I want to know is who to sue or kill for loss of work, loss of security, and mental anguish among other very personal things.

There is already mind reading technology/application without physical connection. Using the application, one can connect to the other person's brain and read his thoughts and also they can talk where only to whom they have connected can hear it. I'm in India and my neighbour is torturing me with it. I think there has been been a leak of secret technolgy and my neighbour has got it somehow. I'm not able to find the technology/application since it is not on the public forum. Can anyone help me regarding this.

I see a huge problem with this (apart, that it creeps me out like hell). Every mind is different, you can't find two that are the same. Even if the minds of the same ethnic group are similar, you cannot use a standard way for reprogramming. I can only imagine that it will plant a sense of extraneousness inside of one's mind, if something else lived in their heads apart from them. This could result in a breach with oneself, which would make matters worse. Please don't meddle with the mind, even just threatening so sets people on edge.
