About rebirth in the darkness I journeyed to Egypt in 1999 where I underwent a rebirth in the thick and velvety deep dark of the Great Pyramid. Thank you for sharing her near death experience. What I find to be unfortunate about her story is that our society has removed us so dramatically from our connection to nature that this woman arrived at a state of such distress that she felt compelled to leave her life (her partner and her home) behind. Hopefully we can begin to reintegrate humanity back into the natural world so that no one feels empty and detached from the joys of this world. It is probably easier on our minds and bodies to undergo slow, gentle shifts towards wellbeing rather than sudden, intense transformative experiences. Also, if humans lived in greater harmony with the Earth, this woman would probably not have felt the need to live and forage on her own, which is what put her at greater risk of consuming poisonous plants. Basically, none of her suffering was necessary, and it arose in large part because of the isolating and depressing culture of North America. Spirituality and living in connection with nature do not have to be a solitary experiences. In fact, this woman’s tale is evidence that we SHOULDN’T be living on our own. Young people in their late teens and twenties are particularly vulnerable because they can be idealistic and unaware of the dangers of pursuing a solitary or “spiritual” lifestyle. I advise others to seek counseling with a licensed psychotherapist (one that feels like a good fit for your needs), and avoid content from “gurus” or related to “New Age” teachings. You do not have to risk your life or join a cult to experience the divine. Connecting with one’s neighbors and community is a far safer way to feel the joy, love, and belonging we seek.

Repentance involves acknowledging one has sinned, and requires forgiveness, not that one must only forgive others.

This was a very fascinating episode to listen to. Sarah obviously has big insight and deep wisdom to share, I particularly appreciated the information on the female darkness, full of potential, and the counter position of light, which penetrates the dark, very archetypal. Though I struggled a little bit with the male being presented in the darkness retreat with the declaration about repentance, of asking if Sarah if she repented. To me this sounds unhelpful, guilt, regret, shame or lacking self acceptance so I couldn't see the productive purpose of the question. However I really felt activated by the energy Sarah was bringing, quite potent.

why would anybody describe oneself as being "mysterious"?? And have a smile on the face simultaneously. This only makes sense if you have a distorted view on yourself and only perceive yourself as seen from the outside. I have never believed her 'story". So many Freudian Fluffs: "witnessing my body from below" "I could see her (the nurse) from below"; and the story about her sister is not coherent either; I will not write why because then she reads it and changes her story to be more believable: rapturous is a new adjective she has never had before because before she was not believed for not having any feelings mentioned. Same with the message "I love" I can not remember this from her former recounts.

I asked not to be afraid of the dark during a ceremony at the age of 50 🙂 and my experience was similar to yours and I am no longer afraid of the unknown 🙏🏻🥰

God prepared you at a young age to bring you back from the brink of death. Through your own ignorance God to advantage of that to show you something amazing, so you could come back and tell us about this experience. Boy. This young lady is a trip for sure. I mean that in the kindest way possible. No religious experience? It might help her I think. Help her to get herself more grounded in the history of the world. Literally or as allegory, the Bible is virtually the oldest written history we have.
