This series was pure gold,....great characters, wonderful scripts,...and acting of real warmth and charm,..loved the dodgy dealings of Arthur and Terry, ..grew up in the 1980s and simply loved this show,...pity modern day telly wasn't half as good as this classic.......great times

same im 50 and they cheer me up most days also the nostalga and looking back on 80s London where i grew up and worked. Long gone now alomg with most the pubs.
Very true although Denholm Elliot was considered for the role originally . A few years before Cole was in the frame for the part of Hudson in Upstairs Downstairs.
