Buddhism reached Philippines until islam and christianity was introduced. Philippines would have been a very peaceful place if buddhism had become the dominant practice.
i bet it will be like Thailand in prosperity or peaceful like Laos, or growth like Cambodia... maybe fearless like Vietnam, advance as Japan or simple as Taiwan... Buddhist countries are the best.

Buddhism (Vajrayana and Theravada) was present here before Islam and Christianity came here, but sadly was lost. Balete/Dalakit (Bodhi trees) are still generated by local Filipinos. Words like Budhi (bodhi), mukha, dukha, dalita, salita, sampalataya, diwata, mithi/pithaya, gaba/Kamla/karma still exist from the time Filipinos followed the teachings of the Buddha. People believe in karma, and this is called gaba. I wish more Filipinos discover the deep and profound beauty of the Buddhist way, as it is well-suited to our country's mentality. The potential for starting the journey to Bodhi are everywhere around us. 🙏
