Holy crap this tech (applying custom campaigns to the normal client) sounds so amazing, can't wait to see what sort of incredible stuff gets made with it. I love synergy's race swapped but was always a bit miffed I had to do the missions in a set order. Obviously I knew it was a technical limitation, but if this could be used, it'd make an awesome mod practically perfect~!

I love to see a full playlist of this mod, and knowing this is a thing it will kinda revive the modding of sc2 and that makes me happy 😊

I would love to see more of this. Both as a proof of concept and just good content. I will say, once the wrinkles have been ironed out I would love a sort of behind-the-scenes on how this all works since it seems like this could make modding the game much more accessible.

I love the idea of a whole campaign built to have a trollish ‘fuck you’ difficulty. Where it isn’t fair, it may not be doable, and it’s made for you to suffer to humorous challenges.

Grant, you forgot one of the most important effects of the new way to make custom capaigns - bonus objectives that give research/levels/Solarite get to actually give their meta value again.

Definitely interested, for one it’s an awesome modding thing that we would get to explore with you, also it’s fun to see you get surprised by new things in Starcraft (can’t wait for Nido the discount Odin on media blitz)

I can really see the potential of how the framework of WoL or other campaigns can be integrated into custom campaigns. I'm looking forward to seeing how viable it turns out to be.

I’m very excited for both this and nightmare difficulty. I can’t wait to see what nightmare difficulty has in store and it’s also just great to see wings of liberty get another “challenge run” spin on it. It’s always been my favorite campaign

Normal day for your rebel life, burn down some propoganda stands, and in the next day you get a thor rushing you on 6 minute mark.

As someone who's watching the archive, I like seeing these kinds of custom challenges.

This is so awesome, of course we'd like to watch you play it both for the premise and for the way it works through the actual campaign. Something like this is perfect, I'd been thinking for a few days now about how I'd love to see you do more challenge runs via fan-alterations to campaigns (e.g. such as redoing some challenge runs or making up new ones on Synergies race-swapped campaigns) and co-op mode/mass recall related stuff.

Yes, I am interested in more of this. I like the Mindhawk's campaigns and the fact that it's integrated into the base campaign will make it easier for you to play. Who knows - maybe it's the first step for something really interesting in SC2 mod community. Since Blizzard ain't doing nothing for singleplayer people it's nice to see this develop

I think it looks really cool, and its also fun to see you off guard and have to work hard at beating something and I think the rest of that campaign is gonna be a wall you gonna enjoy banging your head against very Dark Souls style

Excited both for the challenge run and the potential of the modding. Hope we eventually get a coop campaign used through the actual campaign menu like this.

I really like this. Its a new, fresh puzzle on these missions.

I used to make maps/campaigns and stuff for wc3 way back when, and I generally understand how it works conceptually in sc2, so hearing how this new way of doing custom campaigns was actually super exciting to hear about.

No Way! That's amazing! I have lost so many custom campaigns at the end of missions I'm so happy about there going to be able to be saves for some of them

I dunno why I imagined it as a Wimgs of Liberty campaign but in literall reverse order and Tech, so you start All In with just Marines, lol. But ofc outside of certain triggers, every enemy tech is scaled down as well... Imagine All In with just swarms of Zerglings, Nydus and Kerrigan, lol.

Random idea for a challenge for the 2nd mission I had: The enemy builds bunkers to contain you behind the first attack wave, then they hammer the rebel base over the next few waves. If you want to save then you have to break the contain early, but if you're willing to sacrifice them you can build up a bigger army to deal with the bunkers. Really, I'd just like it if more missions involved the enemy actually building and expanding like a multi-player match rather than most just having pre-built bases and only sending attack waves.

Developers trolling you is one of the best things ever.

This is awesome, i really like it. Never understood why a gun in Jimmys hands does more damage, its a gun not a magic wand! :D

I would love to see more of this campaign. its nice how you need to really think instead of just holding the marine button down and a moving..

1:30 i'm just going to take a guess right now, it's a concept Zero Punctuation put out there a long time ago, he was talking about a world of warcraft character some gnome mage, that starts with every ability everything, and they slowly unlevels you as you progress through the game, you get LESS tools, and it makes it harder as you lose your versatility. You slowly unlearn all of your abilities. What if in this campaign, you just like in his concept, slowly have to unchoose abilities/creatures/upgrades as you go backwards. 2:00 I would also like to see one of these mods. just let you make all of those choices you make on the ship, down on the ground instead, so you can make different descisions each mission. Research, Units, etc. even if it meant a third currency. 5:00 it's not Jim or Jimmy, it's Rim or Rimmy. Since it's Rames Jaynor. Oh god it sounds so bad. Jay!

Totally interested in this series. Beside all the positive stuff people are saying in the comments here - which I totally agree- I love the feeling of the second mission. Lorewise it's so nice seeing Dominion strong and rebels barely hanging on with bunch of guys in suits with few rifles.

I just enjoy watching You do impossible things with that calm unique commentary so yes I would watch it

Both this playthrough and this new tech is amazing, the tech inparticular, like, wow

What I really want to see is an ability to capture buildings of your own faction in the campaign. And co-op mode stuff for commanders it suits. And maybe return Hercules/Barracks, Cruiser/Factory, Terran Carrier/Spaceport functionality back for Terrans. Looking at it, I'm quite a greedy bastard:(

Honestly yeah, this would be a fun series to watch. It seems straightforward, but I'm *very* interested in seeing what custom in campaign looks like, and what it means for other modders. I presume it's just extracting and replacing the mission files, but even so...

That this is somehow through the client is great. Though I have also liked the custom upgrades in some of the modded campaigns. I definitely want to see the rest of this campaign.

I will literally watch anything you put on this channel because I enjoy you, your humor, and your voice so much.

I would love to play though a balance fix version of the campaign while still being able to experience the full campaign with the Hyperion hub and all the little story stuff. That’s what I always miss about custom campaigns that are modifications of the base campaign.

It always frustrates me so much when people playing SC2 send a unit off to collect something then immediately pull it back using a hotkey. Personally if I'm sending a unit off to do something, I remove it from the hotkey (or just remove it from my selection and any further selections) UNTIL it collects, then re-add it. It's understandably frustrating to see Grant send a marine to the back of the rebel base twice to collect minerals, only to pull it back both times and forget about it XD

would WoL Nightmare difficulty include new strategies for the AI? For example, I always thought it was weird that the dominion stopped sending people thru the cave network on mission 2 when you do the bonus objective.

9:45 you can put the depot further up and cause the attack wave to just come in single file since they clump on the corner and aggro the depot then go towards medic but idk if that’s fun

Problem would be, if they got upgrades over time, you put the player on a clock, don’t win by a certain time that is it

So this is how the campaign modder was born?

The concept is really cool, but it will be more interesting to know how far it can be taken. Could he do something like the reversed missions? Just adding a unit here there or changing the stats on unit here there are not exciting in and of themselves.

This seems really cool. Curious what sort of challenges we are gonna see. Wonder if he can add actual objectives to the maps or if they can only be modifiers like replacing Jimmy with a marine or adding different units for the enemies. Depending on how limited things are I can see it getting a bit boring (or at least as "boring" as any other GGG WoL run....so not very)
