One of the best video i've ever come across. i'm going through the darkest phase of my life and its really hard to keep my sanity. Videos like this, especially coming from a person who has been in the darkness, will make all the difference in so many people's lives. Thank you for the video and thank you for being who you are! I can say that you've had a beautiful life, Rich! It takes a lot from a person to transition from who you were 24 years ago to who you are today.
Why are you going through your darkest phase of your life? Are you seeking to make a big change or transformation in your life just like I did in my own personal life? Please don't hesitate to reach out to me and I'll be more than happy to serve you.
Man, this series is just getting more and more personal - as if it is a conversation b/w Rich and the listener, and it so raw, real and honest. I cried towards the end of the episode too. Thanks, Rich for all that you share in the world.
As uncomfortable these podcasts are for you, I do enjoy them. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone. Greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy this wonderful day. 💚🌱🇨🇦
I am in recovery, and I began listening to this podcast about a month ago, this is a huge resource to me to peel back another layer of the onion, and continue to grow through this journey. I have had some spiritual experiences that have given me a new perspective on my life, and and a newfound courage to initiate change. I’m going to be detoxing off Kratom, and realize now that I am powerless. I’m not afraid because I find comfort and answers that have been provided in various ways from a power greater than myself- thank you Rich!!!
Thank you Rich! Please do more monologue podcasts. This helped me to not feel unique or alone and helping me find my purpose if anything to grow! I will hold on to that
I cherish men sharing hope and vulnerability, especially when it comes to their silent and hidden suffering. Thank you Rich, I pray this empowers someone to choose life again, including my father.
Wow thank you so much! My first child a daughter died last month she was still born. My rock bottom. Thank you for this!! So helpful for going through this
Thank you rich! I’m at a loss of works for how powerful this is to me. found your podcast years ago. And have listened to everyone scene then. This one hits home. I love your message, courage and honesty. ❤
This is my favorite thing you’ve done. I absolutely need it and this kind of journal like honesty about growing and aligning with one’s higher self. Thank you. ❤
Rich. Thank you for that. Your insight delivery and guidance have been pivotal in the many of the meaningful changes in my life. You have helped me over the past 4 years to overcome some serious obstacles and grow in positive direction. Much appreciate you and your words of life experience and joy.
thank rich, you really are changing my mind set, i have very similar conditions always very extreme in live, but now im feel im the master of my destiniy, you are making the difference congrats for us cheers from brasil
I loved the video, only one critique I would have is the comparison between rehab and a mental institution. Not that it’s so far off in some ways or that it was said with bad intentions. There is plenty of overlap, but it’s really not the same place. In a mental institution there are some people with disabilities who will never “recover” or be“rehabilitated” but that’s not why many of them are there to begin with, they are there just to live as they are. Idk, maybe I’m wrong, I just felt as though that comparison was off somehow. Anyway, quality content for sure.
for many real alcoholics and addicts the 12 steps are a choice for total transformation that leads to quality sobriety. It can be done in days or weeks. And it's a contrary action for sure. In the early days of AA they did the steps in 2 days and had a 75% overall success rate, or close to that.
What do u recommend if I wish change but everytime I seek help or support and hear them talk it just sounds like the same repeated message that everyone else says. And that feels like cheap or microwaved food to me. I dont like the taste or feel of it. 😢 In other words, am hungry for change, but alternative food sounds and tastes bad. 😢
I'm not an addict in the usual sense, and this podcast made me cry. I have sooo many things I want to change. Mainly with setting boundaries with people: co-workers, family, etc. I am f'n determined!
You probably don’t know how impactful your influence is to so many. Thanks for your bravery, honesty, and pithy revelations-they make these steps more safe to take for me, and I bet for many others too.
I’m 57 days sober and super thankful for videos like these. For anyone just starting or thinking about it, it seems insurmountable in the beginning but you Will feel way better if you hang in.
Killing it Rich. Thanks for inspiring me to get sober. Haven't drank since 2018, and haven't smoked since 2019. Thanks brother 👊 Coming up on 1 million subscribers, and it's well deserved. Keep it up!
I'm a 42 years old man, overweight and frustrated, and your story gives me a kick in the rear end to start fresh and succeed. I'll follow up with comment when I get there. Thanks man
I can feel your suffering, do you need any help to transform yourself into a new version or inhance your life, please reach out to me and I'll help you out.
I hope these become a Netflix series, so that even more people benefit from your wisdom. As it is, I have benefited from it and that of your guests for a couple of years now. I am 4 years sober and went on my first run ever this week, at age 46! Thank you for inspiring me and others to be the best version of ourselves!
Thank you ChatGpt!!!.. 5:42 "Now, one of the first questions I was asked when I found myself in this treatment center after sufficiently DRYING OUT was...."
Rich, reading your book, and hearing you tell your story has helped me to understand & forgive both my parents. Unfortunately, neither of them got sober before the drink habit killed them, but understanding better what was happening to them has allowed me some healing. Thank you.
I've listened to this episode more than five times and think I will continue to listen to it over and over again. I have shared it with so many who are struggling. Thank you RR for all you do to provide amazing content. You are helping so many and your vulnerability is so refreshing and allows all of us to open up as well.
Wondering if Rich could expound on that stubborn place of the soul starring at the muddy road ahead, how do you summon faith? Thank you in advance if you choose to answer ❤❤❤
Thank you, Rich, for sharing your perspective. My brother-in-law is in your old shoes, with the exception that he has zero interest in stopping drinking or attending rehab. He’s only 45 with end stage cirrhosis and there’s nothing in the world anyone can do for him - he just won’t stop drinking.
Hey Rich, some people lead with words, some by example. A rare leader combines these with effect like you have. A decade ago I read your book. Five years ago I became a vegetarian. Six months ago I committed to a plant based lifestyle. 23 days ago I gave up alcohol for good. Today I began therapy. Although you don't know me, you have been with me for each of these steps and for that I am eternally grateful. I hope one day to run a trail with you and share words of thanks, but until then, Rich, thank you for showing me what is possible when you commit to leading a life of purpose, kindness and improvement.
And there in lies the Brilliance of Rich Roll! Outstanding and very courageous presentation ! Using what I learned right now! Blessings to you and your family🙏🏻
