Today we're gonna build one of the best wither skeleton farms that exists in the game which gives a lot of wither skeleton skulls! I hope you guys enjoy it!
Welcome to this EASY WIther Skeleton Skull Farm tutorial in Minecraft 1.20! omg, it had been 10 minutes without any wither skeletons and i was looking through the comments to see what i couldve done wrong. as im reading a comment, i hear a bunch of weird noises and when i look at minecraft BAM - a ton of wither skeletons die from entity cramming lol. thanks for the tutorial! if anyone is having trouble building the nether brick platform with blazes, use fire resistance potions. i made some about halfway through and it made everything so much easier

Two ideas came to my mind to increase efficiency. I would be happy if someone who understands farming could answer. (Excuse my English) 1-If I put "wither rose" on the platform instead of walls, will the efficiency increase because the blazes will decrease ? 2- if the walls necessary, Will productivity increase if I put "wither rose" in the remaining places on the platform ?

Yeah, dude I had no idea what happened. Just spawned in and died in about 1 second. Just caught a quick glimpse of wither skeletons and then dead. Was able to retrieve it thankfully but still, wtf. Also my coordinates put my on top of an ocean monument, might have affected something?

if you are in a server, make sure you are the only one connected and wait a few minutes because it starts slowly

For anyone not getting wither skeletons to spawn, all you have to do is wait at least 5 to 10 minutes, you have to wait for the over world bridge you built to fill up with wither skeletons.

@@arafsiddique3019 It works I try all farms in my world in creative ( backup ) 1.20.4 . You can build In any biome if u think there is wayyyy to much mobs exect wither skelly. Just Infront of portal to wither skelly. All of despawn.

For anyone experiencing that wither skeletons are not appearing through the portal in the nether, the change that helped me was to make the platform on the nether roof 1 block lower. (glass platform) AFK-ing 1 block lower should make the wither skeletons run through!

This might be my problem, but what makes them more likely to come through only lowering the platform? The withers are definitely stacked in the overworld walkway, but I only had 3 come through in a 30 minute span.

@@Zokerehave a player afk in the overworld side of the farm if it’s a multiplayer server, if no one else is online it should work

@@NightMaree404 It works, but it's very slow. I solved some of the problem by spawn proofing more of the area around it. However, when watching the original creator's video, he explains the process more in-depth. I should've built it to the side of it to get more spawns. Furthermore, I haven't gotten wither roses yet, so my spawns will increase a lot when I get those and place them on the ground. I was simply wanting to get enough skulls for the future farms I'd like to do with the roses, and I've gotten enough for 8 wither fights to do this.

Ok so after building the farm I found one thing that can help improve it. Sometimes the wither skeletons will just sit on the bridge and get stuck and would disrupt the flow of the farm. I fixed this by just putting an iron golem behind the protal that teleports them to the killing chamber, this makes them try to go to the portal and ups the amount of skeletons that go through the protal

can confirm this farm works as long as your chunks are in the soul sand valley, majority of my fortress is nether waste and 100% functional

A ghast blew up a chunk of my farm, and blazes shot at me like no tomorrow, but this farm does work. It took a long ass time though like 3.5 hours excluding the rebuilding.

If you still play, just remember to have fire resistance for the blazes. Their ranged attacks become useless

My friend and I just attempted to make it and the portal to the overworld leads almost directly to an ancient city. Thankfully not DIRECTLY inside of it O_O I would've cried if it had 😆

I linked up a portal very close to the one in the overworld so when i am about to be done i can go through and get all the clogged up wither skeletons in the overworld into the nether to kill alot before i go. Make sure to do this as you get 20-40 more skeletons every time you want to be done with the farm I would also suggest flying up about 40 blocks with an elytra to remove everything such as blazes that are taking up places in the mobcap Also to increase rates you can reduce your render distance (Only works on singleplayer) IF YOUR NOT REDUCING RENDER DISTANCE then your rates could be lowered. As soon as i decreased mine i see about 2x the wither skulls (blue forest farm)

Hi all. This does work in 1.21 and I took the suggestion from another to build the killing chamber 1 block lower and instead built the whole nether roof part 1 block lower. It works very well in a creative copy. I will let y’all know once I build in survival!!

Another update. DO NOT!!!! Light the original portal at the fortress or you will die instantly when you go into the overworld from the nether roof portal. Entities can spawn portals in 1.21. Wait until everything is built and then light. I ended up dying because of this (not hardcore so it’s fine, but almost lost my stuff)

For anyone not getting wither skeletons to spawn, all you have to do is wait at least 5 to 15 minutes. also destroy the original overworld portal you can also lower the killing area by 2. last make sure you are alone if your on a server

Thank you so much!! Works amazing, but 3 things for people building this 1. Get good gear and a bow, since when you're building the platform, theres a bunch of blaze always gonna be shooting fire at you, and its really annoying. 2. Either block off the platform portal after lighting it or don't light it until the farm is ready. When i was building, for some reason the portal went to like -5 y underground, and when i went through it, I almost died because of the wither skeletons that went through. 3. Could just be me that was having trouble linking portals for this farm, but personally what i did when creating the portal for acessing the farm, was getting the coordinates for the portal in the nether, timing those coords by 8 (not the y), and going to them in the overworld. this worked better than entering the portals in the nether for me, because for some reason all my portals went underground. Hope this helps a few people!

To those who waited and nothing and I found no wither skeletons (Like I'd done). Make sure that your spawning platform is within the Soul sand valley. If still no withers were spawned. Try lowering down your afk platform by 1 one block, or maybe 2.

@@Greenrooster393 no, you don't need to desend the portal, only the AFK platform. No withered skeletons are spawned because you are out too far away the spawning platform, way too far that it is outside the "spawning sphere" surrounding you. So, basically lower the afk platform a bit, try 1 block, then 2 if 1 doesn't work.

Didn't work for me until I started messing around with the portals, I went through the portal next to the iron golem and was teleported to the overworld portal closest to the cobwebs. Thank you for the tutorial truly helps with wither skulls!

for people having trouble, double check your heights on everything, i had one component height wrong and it broke everything until i fixed it. MOST of the spawn area MUST BE in the soul sand valley. THIS WONT WORK WELL ANY OTHER BIOME.

Yo, tip for building this farm; Bring plenty of fire resistance potions! You are immune to Blazes if you drink one and trust me. No matter if you are building it in a blocked off area or not. You will get pelted.

amazing farm!! i got 11 skulls in less than 10 minutes. if you have troubles with no skeletons spawning check if the platform is made from nether bricks.

If you follow this tutorial 100% it will work. I play on a server with friends and built it. After 20 minutes I thought it doesn‘t work but then the wither skeletons spawned in like crazy. Multiple skeletons per second!!

i forgot to destroy the first overworld portal. i waited 10 minutes and after no skeletons were coming through the killing area, so i checked the overworld and there were like 50 skeletons on the ground

its august 21 2024 and it still works!!! 1.21 what id recommend is where the wither Skeltons land put 2 hoppers and a double chest because your inventory would fill up, also because of entity cramming theyll die so you could go afk. also for the portal that takes you to the overworld just build another one closer to your base and just go to that one.

@@vengimaroula4239 If anyone is having the problem where no wither skeletons enter, I did some troubleshooting and I have fixed it in my world. What worked for me was to go into the original portal at the platform, then break where you end up, then go back to the platform, break that portal and then go back to the killing area and lower the afk platform with 1-4 blocks. Now it works great!

great farm! was a little tedious to build but works great! TIPS: bring invisibility potions so you wont get attacked by stuff while building, if u are on a realm wither skeletons will not come thru if u have friends in the over world they have to be in the nether or end, and if your going to build this i strongly advise building this in soul swept valley its the best)

it works very well on 1.20.1!! (in my case im using some mods, but none of them changes the hostile mobs spawn) and for those who wanna know, i built mine not entirely in the soul sand valley, i made it almost half part in crimson forest and it ended up really good! i got confused at first and had chosen a spot entirely in the crimson forest bc i thought i could build there, so i moved it the best way i could and hoped for the best and fortunately the best came, thanks a lot❤❤

So one of the mods im using adds a huge netherbrick castle in my fortress so i didnt count that as being the highest block since its basically up to bedrock. Will it fuck up the farm if i build the platform lower?

My farm works, but the rates are very slow. Ive been tweaking with it for the past few hours following the comments and there isnt a solution to help with my rates. Ive gone through the portal and seen like 10-15, but then when I sit and wait in the kill chamber I get 1 every 5 minutes. Anyone got any tips?

BTW, if you want to clear the blaze rods from taking up entity space, you can simply just jump 1 block behind where your trap doors are and they should all despawn

For me in 1.20.1, they are coming through the Nether portal where the killing chamber and trapdoors are, but they don't fall.

u should make an iron golem behind the nether portal (like 1 or 2 blocks away) in the AFK platform, so when they appear in that portal, they will see that iron golem and will try to kill him, then they will fall into the kill zone (u will need to break the cristal blocks so they can see the golem)@@wolfgodfenrir3524

Небольшой ньюанс - на 7:47 вас скорее всего ждет смерть, так что переложите вещи в эндер сундук, чтоб потом не лететь через весь мир и не искать с возвратным компасом место смерти (напомню, нужно уложиться в 5 мин. до деспавна вещей). Также захватите две воронки и двойной сундук, а если есть желание, то еще автосортировку. Всем добра

This farms works super well! Even works in the better fortresses. The amount of wither skeletons that spawn is absolutely crazy, especially since more spawn in the better fortress mod.

this works in 1.21. if yours isnt working, 1. spawn proof EVERYTHING with slabs besides your own platform. 2. add water in your overworld portals platform to make them flow into the higher portal. 3. add snow golems behind the higher portal to aggravate them and theyll go towards the portal faster. 4. lastly, just wait at least 15 min for it to warm up, then you should be getting decent amounts of wither skeletons consistently

Honestly the thing that puts me off the most about building this is not the difficulty of building it or the 100s of blazes that will shoot at me while building it, but the fact that the closest soul sand valley fortress is 3000 blocks away which means i'd have to travel like 23k blocks in the overworld to get to it

Tested on a 1.21 server, it works, but you either need to be alone (just you on the server) or someone must be loading that overworld portal bridge, using chunk loader (like those from Vanilla Tweaks) doesn't work.

Side note: you can use grass with wither roses on top instead of nether brick blocks, they do the same thing but also prevent blazes from spawning

If your rates are a lot lower than expected (or you see wither skeletons bunching up along a wall near the golem), lower the portal at the spawning platform by 1 Y level (without adjusting anything else). This fixes a sporadic pathfinding issue. PAPER AND SPIGOT servers often disable entities in playerless dimensions, which results in mobs cramming to death and teleporting their drops to the kill chamber. You can work around this issue by having a friend AFK within 128 blocks of the overworld bridge, or you can convert the overworld bridge into a kill chamber." Update- wasn't working for me then put an afk player within the range and now works perfectly

Spawn proofing helped so much during building and end results. Everyone saying wait 10 minutes after building. Because I took an extra hour spawn proofing within 30 seconds over 50 wither skeletons already. Crazy results

A tip to make building this farm slightly easier: Use a combination of both invisibility and fire resistance potions, and make sure you're not wearing armor with the invisibility. My friend and I just built the farm tonight using these potions, and I only had a few close calls 😆

if you're having issues, watch the original farm tutorial. it does a great job of explaining where to build for the best rates. common mistakes: 1. you're in a server and someone else is online. (it won't work, the skeletons will immediately despawn) 2. being impatient. it takes maybe 5-15 min for this thing to start up. 3. build too close to the fortress. if you build above part of the fortress, other mobs will spawn underneath, ruining the rates. watch the original to understand the "bounding boxes" of fortresses so you can build it at an optimal location

7:46 beware that at the moment of teleportation you'll most likely get jumped by a large bunch of wither skeletons, from what i've seen it's a common trait for farms that require both dimensions :3

What I got in 10 minutes of killing wither skeletons on this farm (with looting 3): - 6 wither skeleton skulls - 5 stacks of coal - 8 stacks of bones - Killed 159 wither skeletons Edit: Just got 3 more wither skeleton skulls while writing this comment Second Edit: Just got 2 more wither skeleton skulls while writing previous edit, ok ill stop

okay, so this has never happened to me, i made this farm several times and have never had this issue. When I made the 3 portal where you place the door and wall, write down the coordinates, and go through. When I got back into the overworld I got ABSOLUTELY MANHANDLED by like 50 wither skeletons, luckily I was able to fly out with my elytra in time but this got me to jump out my seat pretty bad. I'm on 1.21

Problem with blazes while building this ? i suggest using torches to spawnproof them first. each torch has to be one or two blocks away from each others and that leave the least light block at level 11 of brightness, which is enough for blazes not to spawn. if you cant afford do that to the whole fortress, just light the exposed top part, may cost around 4 stacks of torches ( 64 coals and 64 sticks ) for the top part only. you can use carpets but both ghasts and blazes can burn them all down. you can use slads if you got a cobble stones farm too !

for people who's farm didn't work. The platform should be out of nether bricks... I did the same mistake and almost went to the comments and say "it does not work!!!" Thank you so much I finaly got at least 2 wither skulls for 1 minute of AFK!!!!

if you want the farm to start faster, put an iron golem in the over world in a cage so the wither skeletons are atracted to it and run through the portal

@@Nexus_998 If anyone is having the problem where no wither skeletons enter, I did some troubleshooting and I have fixed it in my world. What worked for me was to go into the original portal at the platform, then break where you end up, then go back to the platform, break that portal and then go back to the killing area and lower the afk platform with 1-4 blocks. Now it works great!

Works perfectly in Java!! I use it on a server so you need to have someone in the overworld afk where the portals are so that the wither skeletons don’t despawn. If you don’t then it won’t work

Bit of a late comment, but anyone wishing to improve the rates of the farm can put an iron golem on a block around 3 blocks behind the netherportal in the overworld which is 1 block higher, then the skeletons run towards it and enter the portal
