The plank is just over anotyer item. An the stick at the top is just a stick. If you cool closely the thing above the stick is not pixel consistent with the stick. It's turned sideways. Its just another item.

Wattles, after careful analysis I have conclude that the top item is, in fact, a stick and another separate item. If you look closely the stick and the other part has a slightly different rotation, meaning it can't be one item.

I counted the amount of pixels on the weird item and the pixels on the conduit and the conduit is 6x6x6 while the other item is 8x8x8 which is the same as a mob head, you can count it too, new item 1:35 mob head 3:06 and Conduit 3:22. The new item is the same size as a mob head and not the conduit.

If Mojang is adding a new weapon, I would think that the first place to look for speculating as what it might be would be the weapons in Minecraft: Dungeons. It could be a Battlestaff, Cutlass, Daggers, Glaive, Battle Hammer, Mace, Sickle, Scythe, Whip, Gauntlets, Katana, Spear, Rapier, or one of the many different Bow or Crossbow variants. My vote would be Battlestaff (can give it a variety if different abilities), Spear (Longer reach+ranged possibility), Whip (limited range, but can also be used to get around Indianan Jones style), and Gauntlets (potential defensive + offensive capabilities).

The “purple block thing” looks like a head, maybe like a player head? It’s 8x8 pixels instead of 16x16 of a normal block, and it’s not a conduit which is 6x6. Still curious tho.

I have an idea of what the purple square thing could be if it were to synergize with the grappling hook: it's purple, so it's safe to say that it originates from the end, and it seems somewhat similar to a shulker, but whether that's a stretch or not I think it's something that levitates when you place it down (sort of like the reverse of sand and gravel, only it keeps its physical form as it rises). Someone with a grappling hook could latch onto it as it's flying in the air and use it to slingshot themselves upwards. And the screenshot image shows what looks like a plains biome, which typically doesn't have up-high structures unless you build something.

Maybe, by an enormous long shot, its a hint to a Redstone boss. I think that would be cool.

Planks in the screen shot can be used for towering up Bow is also there which can be used for throwing the object( grappling hook ) It also appears to be a bucket with the plank may be used for mlg And they fell which further adds that it is a grappling hook. (Just saying, i could be wrong)

I think it the first image it's also worth mentioning the item on the left of the trial key, especially 'cause it seems like an item (as in a non-block) that has a 3 dimentional profile and is also half a pixel wider than every other item in the game.

The item at the top of the death screen is actually two different ones, you can tell if you squint really hard. since they are placed at different axes.

I guess it's related to flying since it's says "fell from high place" Maybe a wind charge capacitor where you can put multiples wind charges to make a bigger blast ?

Wild theory but it might check. What if the purple box is what the possible grappling hook connects to? And they would be craftable and spawn in trial chambers. But that's just a theory!

And the strange block could be some sort of dungeon block that generates challages, like giving the player levitation to teach them to clutch, or spawning golems or something

On weapons, the top left could be a hammer or a throwing axe. The hammer might have higher damage dealt, but slower attack speed, more so than the axe. The throwing axe might stack and be recoverable with low damage, low cooldown, and decent item durability. The thing in the wood block looks like a bucket to me. The cube might be a decorative block, a sound emitter like a chime for the amethyst skulk sensor thing for higher bit redstone, or maybe a smaller range or mobile beacon that consumes potions at random or something. (This is a spitball) I got nothing else.

1. The purple block thing is maybe the new beacon, i think it will give us the ability to fly or teleport? 2. The thing inside the plank is maybe the bucket or the chainmail armor 3. The sword hilt thing is maybe an iron sword or netherite sword, or maybe a new weapon. 4. The nether star thing is probably magenta glass pane i don't remember the name, or the end crystal i think? Or maybe it is a nether star..

hey wattles, I think you were right the first time about the strange block, it might be something similar to a mob head. Mob heads are 8x8 pixels compared to the conduit that is only 6x6. It could be that the strange block is placed on the ground instead of floating.

I would love a dagger with new combat mechanics giving you swift and nimble short distance weapon that also has the usage like shears.

That thing the pumpkin man was holding seems to very closely match the item at the top of the death screenshot. The stoneish part of the item at the top of the death image seems to be out of line with the stick, so I’d imagine it’s a 3d model, and this seems to fit the tiny bit of the top of the item we could see pumpkin man holding. This would also make sense for the weird cube thing in the death image to be the head of this item. For some reason I’m thinking that maybe you can somehow charge this with wind charges to use wind as a melee weapon that also knocks you back each time you use it, which could have knocked the person in the death image off a ledge. As for the thing in the planks, I think it looks a bit like chain mail, so maybe it’s hinting at a new armour piece. Maybe it will go in a new slot, and will give you a certain ability, like I would imagine the crab claw would have worked. Maybe they intend to eventually add the crab claw, and this is making way for it. Of course, a lot of this is far fetched speculation, but I’d just like to share my thoughts with ye. Goodnight

A grappling hook would be so cool! Chakram as a new weapon also? I love the new content they add to the game, and cannot wait to see what it is.

10:00 if that is a new weapon, I could see it as a hand cannon and them changing it so the wind charge can't be thrown, but shot out of the cannon instead, but in return, you can also use it to shoot blaze charges and maybe even TNT.

I agree with the grappling hook like thing. The cube could be targets you have to hit to pull yourself up and then you’d have the “fishing pole” like device to actually do the grappling. It’d be a two part device and would fit well with the trial chambers as well as any other puzzle type build. And then that’d leave one additional weapon block as well. Potentially. Maybe.

On the last Minecraft mob voting map, we had a minigame that used a hammer, really fun minigame, maybe that was a teaser

I think the stick thing in the screenshot is just a sword, and the thing stuck in the wood plank block is probably a book. If you look closer at where the boundaries of these objects are and compare them to known items from the game, it makes way more sense. I think a grappling hook would be an amazing addition to vanilla Minecraft, and might actually be something the developers would add. There aren't very many mods that actually have grappling hooks in them and integrate them into the game well, at least not for newer versions of Minecraft, so it wouldn't be making a bunch of mods obsolete. I think it's possible the new weapon may use wind charges as part of its recipe, as people have been requesting that a lot, and it's kinda a no-brainer.

If you look at the shadow of the very top almost left thing there's 2 shadows overlapping there's a stick and another thing in front of it I think the thing in front of the stick is raw copper but I don't know here's where I noticed the 2 shadows 5:34

I have a theory that could be some sort of wind staff, you could hold right click, and it would charge up and after letting out it would shoot a bunch of wind that would knock players high high into the air, and it could be filled with wind charges, it could probably be crafted with a stick and a magical item like a nether star, and it would also explain why the person died, because the wind staff could’ve knocked the player high into the air and took fall damage. Please reply if you like this.

This would be the perfect update to add a use to the fletching table That, and hopefully the bundles, just because I want them lol

I think the wood plank thing is stuff dropped overlapping. Maybe its the tip lining of armor cause it looks like armor is coming out of the bottom as well. The new block though I believe is the new "item" or deals with it in some way.

If it's a grappling hook, I hope the elytra nerfs come along with it, rockets on elytras are overpowered Plus, nerfing the elytra in this way would make phantoms more useful possibly Make a crafting recipe using phantom membranes, and make it so phantoms only spawn in the end dimension Now elytras are balances and renewable, AND phantoms finally have a use and won't be in the overworld anymore

I think the block thing might be a lodestone that could be used with a compass track players if they have it in their inventory. Maybe it could also be tracked as an item on the ground? Maybe the weapon is a beefed up axe? Like the pillagers use? The thing inside the block is just a chestplate tho. Maybe.

I HAVE A THEORY the weapon is a chain mace. Being on a chain perhaps it allows you to grapple and maybe it has the possibility of snapping leaving it in a spiked ball form

1:50 Probably, this is a chainmail chestplate that is in the same spot as the planks, making it look like a unique item. I've had this happen with mangrove propagules and roots; it looked like a caged propagule!

I think the top thing is a stick and another item. You can tell based on how it’s oriented, and the the left corner it looks like a trial key. The the plank thing, it looks like a stack of emeralds, a single plank, and a bucket? Also the nether star you call it, it’s too much looking like a stick, maybe a weapon handle.

In my opinion, the short handled item, in the top left, looked like a simple fishing pole. However, since the function of a grappling hook would behave in the same way as the fishing pole, it would stand to reason the developers would use the base coding and modify from there? A fun theorycraft video nonetheless the less.

I am loving the grappling idea. The thing that you mentioned looks like a saw blade, looks like the bottom of a bucket to me. And I am sure you checked it but does that conduit looking thing match any of the new tuff blocks?

I think it’s another blaze varient like the breeze maybe an earth elemental let’s call it “the boulder”. I think if so then there might be a water elemental coming a well probably called “the bubble”

If you look closely at the screnshot on the dev phone, you can see the top of the weapon sticking out of the finger it also looks familiar with the weapon in the picture of that death screen. I think it is a hammer because it has a flat area at the top
