@@birdwife589 so true, i remember like 10 years ago people could upload almost completely unedited footage for not just Minecraft but any game and they could get a lot of views but nowadays everything is hyper-edited
Okay, maybe I’m going naive and hopeful and dumb here… why don’t we just bring this content back? I mean, seeing how these videos still get views, it would definitely be worthwhile.
Honestly that experience with the redstone going wrong and feeling kind of frustrated and hopeless about it is one of the most relatable things I've ever seen haha
Something about watching someone genuinely enjoy building and playing beta minecraft floods me with nostalgic memories of when I first got the game myself. Not to mention the commentary is comforting! Happily will stick around to see what you build
I feel like I'm a kid rediscovering Minecraft again. Though I do not mind the newer stuff added in minecraft nowadays. It is fun to look back every now and then to see where everything started. Seeing the old textures, old sounds, simple building style, and even seeing the old pork chop texture gave me a wave of nostalgia. Thank you for posting this video, man. This is great!
I started this obsession in a similar way; I just wanted to check out the old versions for fun. But I found that they seriously give a whole different experience when you dig in. It’s hard to explain. Maybe one day I’ll make a pretentious video essay about it.
Same. These types of videos are something I miss back in early beta. They all seemed pretty alleviating to watch. Just showcasing gameplay with their own personal motives of either exploration or creative ingenuity
Im 19 and i stopped watching minecraft content a while ago, but watching these made me remember how much apart of me this game used to be when i was a kid, i never played early pc minecraft but i got it as a kid on the 360 and there was so much i couldent do compared to all the youtubers i watched on pc. I used to hate it but when all those updates finally came out. I played with it for a little while but mostly just went back to the simple things, it was always the simple things in minecraft for me. I went back to it and built a massive cobblestone castle today with a little village inside of it and prisons inside the tower blocks, i feel like kid me would have been so impressed by it compared to the tiny iron block castle i made back in the day
there are 2 types of people, people who think old minecraft is lonely and eerie, then the people who enjoy that loneliness. EDIT: also i just want to say, there is nothing that brings me back to my childhood more then complete silence other then the footsteps and block placing, then all of the sudden a random cave sound, so engraved into my mind
im 25 now. i have to say i really miss the feeling of the first few years playing minecraft. i also miss the old world generator. really liked the simplicity of it. sadly i dont have my old worlds anymore
@@cnfusd1352Same. Im 26 now, now I am father. But one of my regrets is i lost my first two worlds. Still remember how i discovered everything by myself... And then? Found comunity and friends. We are still friends today. :)
Singleplayer on a server is an amazing vibe because it really does make the world feel alive. Like you never know who is gonna hop on and enjoy the progress you’ve made for everyone
i want to genuinely thank you for making these videos. these are so no-nonsense just straight to the point gameplay which i honestly miss. that’s probably partially the nostalgia talking, but i genuinely feel like i’m discovering minecraft for the first time again, falling in love with the game when i’ve only really enjoyed the building aspect for a long time now. playing beta survival has brought me so much joy. these videos have also inspired me in a way the grandest of minecraft builds or the craziest of modern bases and farms never have before
I originally watched this video last night but I wanted to come back and show my gratitude! I’ve been having quite a stressful few weeks recently and last night, this video was exactly what I needed. Relaxing, nostalgic & an escape. I could watch a 5 hour video of you playing Beta Minecraft! Please continue what you’re doing. You’ve created a truly safe space for many people & we’re very thankful for your unique content!
I’ve been on my beta grind lately too. Nostalgia is powerful but, honestly the simplicity has been great. Plus with the limited amount of blocks they all just flow together.
you're like the bob ross of minecraft, gameplay commentaries are the type of content you're really good at and I would love if you even started talking about non-minecraft related topics while playing if you would enjoy making that yourself.
Mis respetos, conseguiste la atención de muchas personas que se interesaron en las versiones Beta de Minecraft gracias a ti. Es lindo ver como una pequeña comunidad es conocida por una persona que le gusta y ama Minecraft beta.
I really find these videos entertaining because I am in the same situation as you. There used to be a server with all my friends on it, but now I haven't seen any log on in a year. I plan out giant builds and create my own little world, and absolutely no one sees it. I think I might film it like you do, even if no one else sees it, at least its preserved and can inspire people in the future.
I love these update videos, very nice to see. Would you ever consider livestreaming your world as you work on it? You could always cut it down later for an update video too! Thank you for providing this great content ❤
@@dialko2596if you haven’t done it by now, i must say it sounds like a great idea and would definitely watch if you did start. it definitely fits with the small streamer sort of thing with lots of chat interaction i love watching
I really really enjoyed this. Brought me back to a time when I use to watch people play minecraft back in the early 2010's, and was super relaxing to watch. I'd love it if you made more, I am heavily invested
your video really made me rethink minecrafting. I always rush and try to farm things, but playing it simply, manually and slowly might also be a great idea.
This is really cool seeing how you build, the gate design was really neat and I'm taking a bit of inspiration from your castle. I'd love to see this become a series or just semi regular updates would be great
Okay, I really don't think your videos feel lonely. Old versions of the game kinda do, but I don't get that from you. I feel super relaxed and nostalgic, but not sad. Thanks for posting again. I did checkout the other creators you mentioned in the comment section of the 1 year tour video. Turns out Mongster (one of the ones I enjoyed the most) is taking a break on his single player world. Apparently some beta 1.7.3 creators are getting together for a beta 1.7.3 SMP. I don't know if you were invited for that (I hope you were), but my point isn't that. It is that, if you ever feel like taking a break for a while or completely discontinue your playthroughs, it's totally ok. It's important for every creator not to feel like they should continue making videos just because there are people eager to watch more or something like that. But maaaan I just love your videos/gameplay style the most. It's always a blast. I'm here for the long run and can't wait for the next updates. You're just super inspiring and such a wholesome individual. Thank you! PS.: A suggestion for the open field in front of the castle gate. You could build a palace-like front garden with tree leaves and grass. That would look fancy. But I also like the open view so idk, whatever makes you satisfied. Cheers
Thanks for taking the time to write this. I agree that these old versions (in fact, MC in general) can have a lonely or ominous vibe. The dungeon I found really reminded me of that. Also, rest assured that I won’t make these out of pressure. It might mean my uploads are inconsistent unfortunately, but I only play when I’m enjoying it :)
You’ve really tapped into a niche here. I’ll happily stick around for future updates and nice commentary. Maybe you could start a community server for the followers you gained!
I absolutely loved your style of a world-tour video and was worried that I wouldn't enjoy this video as much as a previous one, but I'm glad I was wrong! Excited to see more of your videos
watching this video in 2023 makes me wish that minecraft only came out like a year ago or so and now its just getting popular recently, its still in beta and people are having fun with it and there are loads of servers you can go to. hopefully in the future they'll even make a console port of the game and there will be a lot of mod support for it too.
Your mic and style of editing really reminds me of old lets plays, I love watching the progress its kinda like a checkpoint, reminds me personally a lot of TheWeeklySlap with Jschlatt
Bro i downloaded your minecraft world and juste chill in it for 4/5 hours and your world really capture the minecraft vibe, i love so respect for the work
I love your Minecraft Beta videos! It really feel old-school, in a good way! The series of video that made me learn about Minecraft had this exact style: just a man playing on his single-player world, showing us what he built and building more things on video. No fancy editing. No added background music, or cinematic shots with shaders. It feels like I'm back in 2011-2012, and I love it!
New subscriber here! I love to chill to your beta world updates :) I kinda liked how you pronounced Zwielicht in the first showcase video, it made it sound like a mid-1800's eastern-european town.
what i love about your videos is how well they fit in minecraft's philosophy of less is more! truly such a peaceful experience. Thank you Dialko! would love to see more
You have no idea how happy I am to have found your channel, truly a hidden gem. You have inspired me to keep playing on my 10 year old world, even if I have updated it up until Release 1.11. I especially love how pretty your mines are, I really need to start making pretty mines lol.
yoooooooo ive been waiting for this i love it so much. old minecraft was just so different and its so refreshing to see people playing the roots of the game honestly.
I don't know why, but I have always had a weird obsession with old Minecraft. It's not nostalgia, I started playing it on 1.10 in 2016 (which has been a long time and I'm too scared to admite that). I made a beta world back in 2018. I played it only casually from time to time, just like any normal world. After I saw your last video, I instantly went back to it and it's the only world I'm currently playing on. I have a lot of fun. These videos are really great. They inspire me, but they are also really relaxing to watch, unlike the fast-paced Minecraft content that is common now. I just want to watch someone have fun with the game.
I know exactly what you mean. There is a little nostalgia for me, but not that much. I started right after the adventure update. More so, I like old MC because it’s just sort of fascinating and genuinely a different and fun experience. Also, there’s no way 1.10 was 7 years ago. Wtf…
i dont comment much on videos, but i wanted to say how much i love the beta content. that video was not a fluke. i think your style of editing and your way of saying things is so heartwarming and i wish you the absolute best with your world. it’s a dream of mine to create things that will give as much joy to others as your videos have to me. keep up the awesome work you are doing!
Hey! I really enjoy your videos because it’s awesome to get to see that you enjoy what you’re creating and I like your low-key play style, and I’m happy to stick around this channel and see what you get up to in future videos even if you change the formula up. I’ve found the older versions of Minecraft to be appealing to me lately so it’s been a lot of fun to see what other players have been getting up to in their worlds. Do you think you will stick with the European fantastical themes for the rest of the world, or have you thought about exploring other building styles? Modern style builds can look a bit wonky in beta but are doable, and it could alternatively be interesting to explore the architecture of other regions such as the southwestern Native American cliff cities, or some of the historical south-eastern Asian structural styles. Can’t wait to catch the next episode o7
Glad you enjoy! The European style is basically what I’m used to, and I enjoy it the most, so that’s why it’s been my default for this world. I have been meaning to try different things though. I want to make a Pueblo or middle eastern inspired place eventually, but it’s pretty hard to find large deserts in this version. Also, I want to make some ruined/abandoned builds at some point. Those are really fun, but I just haven’t gotten to them yet.
@@dialko2596 I think I get what you mean, the European style with a big focus on medieval structures like forts and castles has been so ingrained into the building culture of Minecraft for so long that it can sometimes be hard to explore different styles. I would be interested to see what you pull off with the other styles you mentioned since you’ve done so well with what you’ve built so far, and who knows maybe you’ll come across an architectural trend that you could enjoy a ton like the European style. It’s annoying that there aren’t any big deserts yeah, maybe a terraforming project would be in your future if you decided to go for the switch-up. Overall I’ve enjoyed looking at the forts and other builds in your world, I’m really curious to see how that kennel will turn out! Keep it up man
i love this, i reminds me of when people first started playing minecraft, where there isn't need for a whole bunch of editing to make the video keep its interest. This teleported me back to 2010 youtube.
I think it's so cool that you made a statue dedicated to The Master Caver lol he's awesome! I've never thought of making monuments like that before though, but it's such a cool idea! Maybe I should build more stuff like that in my current world. Sure things like a guard house or a statue don't fill any specific purpose, but I feel like they can make the world look nice or maybe make it feel more alive? It's hard to describe but I love it
your videos remind me of the really old paulsoaresjr videos. His original how to survive and thrive videos are what got me into this beautiful game all those years ago and these videos are giving me the same feelings i had when i was a kid. love your work mate
I love the gatehouse, it's awesome. I've been wanting to do something like that for years and now I'm definitely doing it. I needed to see how to do the redstone mechanisms, I'm pretty bad at redstone lol. Thanks for the inspo
Simple Minecraft videos, with not-perfect recording quality and simplistic editing is another big factor in the nostalgia and appeal of early Minecraft. RU-vid and larger internet culture was just different, and this video and your beta world videos fit neatly into that. Them resonating with that appeal is my best guess as to why your videos are doing so well.
Nice progress, I love that little minecraft player statue that you built. The gate is also pretty impressive, even though it's not your original design I still command you for building this, I never use any redstone because even with all these tutorials I simply find it too convoluded to integrate into regular gameplay lmao. Keep'em coming!
Cool gatehouse. I agree about liking simpler block palettes / designs. Too often when I try and look at resources for building nice structures the advice boils down to “make it super busy” I always prefer structures that have a bit of shape and texture to them but in a more controlled and symmetrical way :)
Nice castle that you got there :) I play this version myself while watching the video and the creeper at 15:24 scared me, because I thougt he was gonna blow up me XDD (even thoug´ I am in Peaceful. I started playing alpha 1.01 and worked my way up to Beta 1.7.3, I learned so much about Minecrafts History in the last three weeks . my world will never leave Beta because I just cant get off that freaking game, the old sounds and everything. I know what I got when I play Beta 1.7.3 but on the other side i feel really overwhelmed and almost bored of modern Minecraft because there are so many new things added in the last years when i left school went to go to work and stopped gaming for some years. Long story short, im in Love with Beta PS: love that nostalgic vibe in the comments ;)
Hey man, I absolutely love your world. Will you be making more minecraft videos? I'd really like to see how this world expands. I love the vibe of old minecraft so much.
Right before you got the gate working my heart got filled with warmth. Wasnt having the greatest of days or weeks for that matter but this video made me feel like it will all be alright. Thank you.
